PlayStation classic hardware is awesome, software was done by someone who didn’t know what they were doing.
Exactly this! The hardware is awesome, a way better solution than having a Pi based emulation box. These packs and hacks are what made the Classic even better!
Thanks for the mini console videos. I still play all of mine...
Because of you I still play my PS1 mini to this DAY. Thank you for showing us this and the updates! I have a present to give my friend and this updated one will be a great suprise.
In our house we will pretty much play the classic till chip set gives up. And thanks to everyone in the background. I was able to bring the Metal Slug series to my family and never new it was going to be possible.
Always wanted a ps mini, but it's cool you're covering this, at least I can see what cool stuff's been coming out for it. I mean..yeah, I can play ps1 games on other formats, but the mini was cool.
Im glad this thing is still getting some love 😊
I went down the PSC rabbit-hole way back during the first Autobleem releases all thanks to you!
Ron, Could you do an update to the latest build of the SNES Mini?
Mine is due for another refresh. If you have any soldering skill, I highly recommend soldering the power legs together on the USB controller ports so you don't need to deal with a USB hub and power cord for the thumbstick.
Thanks for the heads up!
I still use mine regularly to play ps1 games and love it. The autobleem hack is fabulous.
I can't get my games to transfer software installed fine. Tho but laptop 💻 to console transfer I have a problem for my Sega
@@bobbyblanco5351 this comment gave me a nosebleed
This is a great build! He did an amazing job!
Still rocking Autobleem and Retroarch on mine.... I played it this week. I love that thing
I really like the hardware. Mainly just using it for PS1.
Had a notion a couple of weeks ago and got my Aimtrak gun working through RA on mine. ACTION!
Crazy that work on this has been still going on after all this time.
Maybe an updated version of how they are adding these on the psc in 2024? (not sure if I got mine done now that I think about it 😂 ). I would just prefer the ps1 catalog and keep it like that.
there are images on arcadepunks with just thousands of ps1 games for it. they work really good
In case people don't know. It doesn't have the power to run most flash drives but if you use an SD card and an adapter they run great. TC
USB 2.0 drives typically work.
brings me back to the old mlp days!
Epic video. Epic mod by Magnus RC. Does anyone know or have a recommendation for the best controller to use with analog sticks? Or best converter to use a analog stick controller on the PS classic?
I guess I gotta dust mine off
6 years? WHAT?
And the ps TV, or vita TV, is 10 years old now
Magnus is the best!
Oh cool i love cannon spike😊
Noicee. I have a few. Should update one of mine
Man I really missed out on something. They were practically giving these things away at one point and you could score one for like $20. I already had one but just the pads alone were worth more than $20 to me so I missed out on getting some extra gear.
DualShock to usb adaptors work on the ps classic. I had one laying around for use with my ps3, it works plug and play with the classic
Thanks for the heads up. I'm guessing I need to download the latest build and can't just update it?
Now I really want one.
😅👍
I tried to go get it, but it has you do a sign up and it says my email address is banned? lol, no clue.
Same here. Tried a few email addresses. :(
I really got into the hacked classic and mini systems a few years ago. Nowadays though most streaming sticks and mini pcs do emulation so much better that I don't see a reason to ever go back. I might buy a N64 classic if that ever gets released but otherwise nah.
This is a moot notion. Pc, Raspberry pi, mini Pc, etc. Those ALWAYS did a better job than any of these hacked mini consoles. But that's not why someone buys a Mini-console. It's to have a functional, excellent representation of one of their all-time favorite game systems.
Yeah, but this thing boots into a generic menu with an avalanche of non-PS systems. It hardly feels anything more than an average emulation console, only the controllers that IMHO the best aspect of the mini consoles.
@Madlittlepixel this indeed seems like an amazing Project Eris build for ppl who want a multiple console build. Can you also recommend or make a video of an Autobleem build for those of us that only want PlayStation 1 games? Thanks in advance.
It's not a Project Eris build, it's made with Retroboot standalone, it's the same retroarch version that comes with Autobleem.
@@Yan-vu6uiMy mistake
Where to find the FAQ for this great setup?
I have a ps TV, but something like this would be cool for DC and NDS
So how do you do it?
I got my Ayn Odin 2, so I'm good. 😀
The image taken from the backup cannot be made to work. Is there a guide on how to properly prepare it for working on psc with an already modified kernel for bleemsync?
You need to use Etcher or win32 disk imager to write it on your USB to be able to use the build.
Guess it would be simple to use this as a base and then with a larger thumb drive or HD, add games to it?
Anyone know where I can find a copy of Diablo 1 for the PS classic? Hard to find a physical copy for my actual PS1… so wanna play it on there.
Im just keeping mine to gain value. I did replace the PAL games with NTSC games internally on the 16gb storage. So it has that one upgrade. I still have a usb cable that allows power as well as storage in one, if I ever wanna try these builds again.
Any way to make a tutorial video?
I've tried multiple USB cards and after modding my PS Classic has massive slowdown on complex 3D games like Metal Gear Solid, plays perfectly on 2D games. Has anyone experienced this? I modded to remove the current limitations and run a USB hub, but it doesn't matter, they are nice Samsung USB drives. Really makes me use it a lot less.
Where can I find the build?
I never got around to hacking my PlayStation classic but I just want to add all my favorite PlayStation 1 games
DO IT!!!!
hello yea..worth it!!
Question what usb drive are you using. I can't get autobleem to work on a 128 gig Sandisk drive.
If you don't have a custom kernel installed and use a OTG adapter 128 gig is too big to work in the front USB ports.
How long did it take you to do that in hour 's
I only wish they would update Xenogears for modern consoles.
I'm kinda new to this stuff. Would I be able to load this onto a Retro Pi setup? Been thinking about building one as I don't have a PS Classic to put this on.
No it won't work on a raspberry Pi, there are plenty of ready made builds for the raspberry Pi you can find.
@@Yan-vu6ui Thanks for the help!
saturn run really well on gamebox, butokai is fun game
AS ALWAYS.... Thank you MLP!!!
Can a 5tb external hdd with it's on power supply be used on the PS1 classic?
It would need to be formatted in MBR format and that has a 2tb limit.
Not very yet , a new set of cores on the way
I used the PS Classic for a while until I heard about Dev Mode on Xbox.
Man I hope someone drops a TG16 mini hack soon...
I still don't know how to install the 128 GB V1
You need to use Etcher or windisk 32 imager to write the build on your USB.
Can you add more games to this build?
You would need a PC running Linux to be able to expand the file system to be able to add games. This build is a clone image of a 128 gig drive so even if you write it on a larger drive it still going to show as a 128 gig drive that is why you need to expand the file system. As Is there is about 2 gig left of space on this build.
How do I find your Discord?
Was there sega saturn in this build?
Have you ever tried to run Saturn games on the Playstation Classic? Im not sure its possible.
Where is the link for this build?
X2
Without MagnusRC & KMFDManic's efforts over the years, PSC would've just been another wasted piece of Sony hardware.
Shut up and take my money! Only it's free 😅
I have a brand new, unopened PS Classic. I can't decide if I should sell it or open it to hack it.
Sell it
How much are they worth now?🎮🤑🎮
Not much
I believe right now (kinhank x5 pro 🔥) is king 👑 of retro .. but $378 is steep
I regret giving mine away for free. I tried it and was totally underwhelmed at the time, it looked cool but was majorly disappointing.
Damn you post late as hell or early in the morning.
Lol.
It’s 2:30 est for me.
He’s in California so not too late.
Cheers to the hackers, still a heartbreak that no one at Sony gave a crap about this thing. Could have been the greatest Mini easily.
Is 1GB enough RAM?
You're pretty much stuck with 1 gig of ram on the PSC.
Video games get me mojado !!!
I got true blue mini flash drives pump an dumps 500 games 🎮 but my kinhank emulator is top dog now no need for my ps classic but I'll still keep it ...kinhank gives me 114k games but Nintendo 64 is trash to many copies games tht don't play or won't save but for $60 for 114k games is a deal
"Its not emulated , its a port" ..... can someone explain the difference please
A port is when a developer makes a game specifically for another system. For example: Vigilante 8 was made for Nintendo 64 (cartridge) and PlayStation 1 (disc). They run natively on their respective consoles with their own button configurations, settings, etc.
When a game is emulated it's done so (usually) on a machine that wasn't originally designed to play that particular copy (ROM or ISO) of that particular game. The emulator acts as an adapter to make the games playable on other hardware. Hope that helps
@rokucam1958 ah ok, so does the port mean they have been specifically made for the psc? The ones on there I mean ? That's cool
@@leeturner5425 I had to rewatch the video because I wasn't sure what you were referring to but yep! Seems like someone converted that handful of games to work natively on the psc. Very surprising but pretty cool
6 years!? I haven't even got around to opening mine yet 😂
I bet they put zero effert into it because they knew ppl would just hack it anyways.
