- The automatic needle threader on a sewing machine is a game changer! No more fiddling about trying to thread the needle. Let All About The Sew show you how to use the automatic needle threader on a Janome sewing machine.
WOWOWOW WOWOWOW WOWOWOW, THANKYOU for this video, I've been trying to figure this out since 18months.Good thing I can still manually thread the needle. 😊
You're welcome!
I had my machine for three years and couldn’t be bothered to check out how to self- thread it. Today is the day. Woooow Thank you
A million thank yous!!!! My eyes are just now getting so it's hard to thread the needle. This function is a life saver. Thank you!!!!!
I've had my machine for 15 years, and never knew it could do this... wow!! I cannot thank you enough for this video. Me, and my dwindling sight, thank you!!!
Amazing!! You are very welcome!
Thank you, I was so confused before i saw your video
Oh my goodness!! I wish I'd have seen this video years ago lol. I've had Janome machines since I started sewing 14 years ago and I've never used the needle threader function. Thank you so much Lorna for this, I will now use it every time. I can't believe how easy it was! Xx
I looove the amount of detail on this. I am a total beginner and this gave me confidence that I can do it.
Fabulous Coe! So glad you found it helpful 🙂
I just purchased a janome and have had problems with threading, I put the needle in highest position and now got it to thread.. thank you
So glad it helped you, so satisfying when you get it!
Brilliant! So well explained. Couldn’t work it out from the instruction manual😊
Thanks so much for this valuable little video! It’s way better than the instructions in the manual. Thanks again
Thank you! I was watching another video and I couldn't figure out why it wasn't working. Then I watched yours - that part about if the needle is not in its highest position, it won't work - was very helpful - I had the needle just a fraction too low. Little things like that really help when you are helping someone brand new to a machine! Much appreciated!
So glad it helped you Mary :)
Thank you! I had no idea how to use this, and it works perfectly. 😊😊😊
Omigosh, thank you! I was struggling so much with this and I got it right away following your video
You're very welcome - so glad it has helped you :)
Exactly the demonstration I needed!
Brilliant ! Really helpful. Thank you 😊
Sally Weinstein glad you found it useful! Brilliant once you get the hang of it!
Thank you so much!!!
I was struggling!
Natalia Perez you’re welcome! Once you get the knack it’s such a time saver!!!
Thank you so so much!!!
I don’t have a manual for my Janome TS100Q and you bailed me out!
I’m a beginner and I’m struggling.
I’m glad you found it useful 🙂
THANK YOU!!!!
Thank you 🙏🏼
Seems easy enough
Cheers - best explanation ever 😉
Glad you found it useful. Thx for the comment 🙂
Looks easy
Got it! My S5 arrives tomorrow!
Good luck with your new machine!
TY SO MUCH TY
You're welcome!
You are a lifesaver...I was ready to rip my hair out
THANK YOU! I was finally Able to do it!...Now do I thread the bottom (bobbin) spool up into it same way?
So glad it helped you. The bobbin thread once drawn up through the hole underneath the presser foot then just gets pulled too the back/left side of the machine. It doesn't go through the needle.

Thank you just spent one hour with it nor at correct height
You’re welcome. If a machine is digital then the needle either finishes in the fully up or down position but on this one it just depends on what position the needle falls when you finish sewing. So important it’s at the right height otherwise it won’t line up 🙂
I am also facing difficulties because my machine always unthreads. Is it ok if you explain that?
Natalia Perez when you use the thread cutter on your machine, I find it often leaves the threads a little short. After you have cut them, make sure you give them a little pull before starting to sew again. This way when you start sewing, the needle shouldn’t come unthreaded.
My n needle threader got crooked do I need to get it changed
Hemangini Jain Sometimes it’s possible to gently push the needle threader hook back into alignment. Make sure the machine is switched off and unplugged when you do this. If not then you can order a replacement and easy enough to fit yourself.
This is great however all my needles are threaded back to front instead of side to side so the threader doesn't work in that case....sadly,
My little tiny hook I think is dull
El ensartador no entra al ojo de la aguja que hago??????? 🤔
It may be that the threader is bent slightly - it is such a small hook that it can get bent very easily. Either give it a little bend back into the centre or it may need replacing
How to use obs
The Hook can't go through the needle eye

What brand of needle did you have trouble with?
My threader won’t work
My thread keeps breaking
Try and release the needle threader really slowly and gently. Sometimes if it flicks back up suddenly the thread does break.
That is not 'automatic'!
