my mom got me an old janome sewing machine (equle t400) so i have something to do in quarantine!!! it didn't come with a booklet so I'm kinda learning it online and this is one of the most helpful tutorials I've watched!!!!! even if this version is super advanced, it helped me understand the basic features such as the auto lock key. I kept trying to figure out what that button does hahah. Thank you so so much! Regards.

Honestly...I learn so much with every one of these videos. I've had my Skyline S9 for over 2 years...and didn't know about a lot of these basic functions! For instance...didn't know about those little line markings at the beginning of my stitch plate. Really??? I've been using the line towards the back of the plate that says "5/8"" mark for my seam markings. It can sometimes be tricky to see. Thanks so much! And my goodness...the "reverse" button functions?? Never, ever knew that it has 3 different functions. Again...thanks. Well...You just keep going. Don't care what you teach... I learn! Lol

Enjoyed watching the last one to two minutes. If I had money to splurge I would get a Janome and a circular attachment but since I can't splurge I bought the affordable Singer HD6800C with the tie-off, cut-off, up-down buttons as a must have and that Singer will sew thick denim for hemming. I also know that some Brother machines have those circular attachments but smaller circles on some of their affordable models.

Thank you for this tutorial, I have the MC8200QCP, which I love and is very similar in set up to the S6 so this was very handy, especially the reverse button. My machine doesn’t have the continuous reverse function, which, after seeing your tutorial, I’m a bit sorry about... but I guess I can just hold the reverse button and get the same effect. I also enjoyed your instructions on how to use the needle plate markings to get consistent seam widths and corners. Very well explained, have now subscribed.

I have always used a Janome sewing machine. I have been looking at the S9 as I want to 'computerize' and be able to embroider and quilt, too. My 25 year old Janome doesn't have the 'bells and whistles' but it has the most beautiful straight stitch of any machines I've ever used. Your videos are really informative and I'm learning a lot about the newer machines.

I will see about doing a separate video on the needle threaders. Make sure you always start by pressing the needle down/up button so that the needle is in the correct position for the needle threader. Also, lower the presser foot when using the needle threader to put tension on the thread.
