Top tip for attaching a walking foot to a Janome sewing machine
One of my sewists on a class last week shared this tip with me - it was a revelation. It may be very obvious to everyone else but to me…well…it changed everything!
Isn’t it funny how something can be so obvious yet you’d never thought of it before. I guess that’s what a lot of top tips are aren’t they - obvious to one person but not another.
Well I’m sharing it here in case to anyone else it wasn’t obvious!!
The tip can be applied to any foot that needs to be screwed on with the 2 clasps that fit around the shank. This is a Janome machine but may be transferable to other brands too.

Thank you!! This video absolutely saved me from having to make another embarrassing trip to the sewing machine repair shop! I could not for the life of me figure out why my machine was not grabbing the bobbin thread as I didn't do anything different that I could see. I was about ready to stick my head in a meat grinder. In one last moment of desperation, I decided to search for help and stumbled upon your video. Now I can get back to sewing my daughter's wedding quilt. ❤ Edited to add: I am also saving your video should I need rescuing again! 😂 I am a beginner sewer... not professional by any means. Thank you again! 😊
