Really enjoyed this purely from a coaching standpoint. You’ve already shared 100% of this in multiple other videos, but it’s nice to see how you taught it to a GROUP of young players (so much more challenging than 1:1) and tied it all together. Nice job coach!

as a 55 yo softball player who hasn't had a coach say boo about a swing since little league. this was helpful. thank you.

This is pure gold teaching for every level. If a person already owns, then it’s confirmation of what is right…then all they need to is determine if they are doing it.

Matt. Thank you so much for all the hitting videos. You have helped me to improve me swing more than anything I’ve ever seen. Love the process for getting into the hitting position. For me personally, the hardest part has been getting the lower half to then go while keeping the hands back. Sounds so easy but yet so hard in practice.

Going to be so valuable to show this to my 6 year old. He is already naturally understanding of a decent amount of this (thanks to getting to start hitting soft toss starting at the age of 2), but the rest of my team of 7 year olds are pretty far from having the instinct to follow this so far. Anyway, as a now 40 year old ex-college player, I wish I had access to such quality instruction and resources online growing up like the kids do now. The problem that we're going to be facing is pitchers going ti be destroying themselves too young to try to get these overly capable young batters out, which we have started to see the ramifications of at the major league level now.

I think my 13yo son's swing is good, but it produces a lot of pop-ups/fly balls to right when he's behind and a lot of ground balls when he's ahead. I think that's because he has to much of an uppercut, but it seems difficult not to with the tilt that's taught in these types of rearward barrel first swings, isn't it? How can he correct that?
