- Over the past 2 years, I have worked tirelessly on improving my own slowpitch softball swing. Along the way, through research and trial and error, I have picked up a great deal of information that may be useful to others trying to get better. This video is intended to help low level rec players who are struggling to pick up the basics of the slowpitch softball swing.
In this video, I focus on two basics: stance and grip.
I think with a little inspiration, a lot of hard work, anyone can fix a broken swing. Perhaps this video will help provide the inspiration that you need.
As always, I appreciate your support! Please hit that like button, subscribe to the channel, or drop a comment below. Or, do all three!!

I appreciate you brother! I played football and nothing else. I’m 39 now and joined a slow pitch league and I’m trying to figure this out. Thank you for your help!
Thanks! I hope my videos are helpful and that you are able to put it all together! Softball is even more fun when you aren't terrible at it! Good luck!!
Much needed info. 💯 I've never played in my life and this is very informative 👌🏿
Finally a Channel that has slow pitch softball! Hope it stays consistent🙏🏽I see big things!!!
I don't have any plans to change what I'm doing!!
And I appreciate the support!
Love the videos man. I’m a 40 year old who hasn’t played much slowpitch. Love the content. This is what I’ve been looking for
Thank you for the support!! I hope to have some more tip videos up in the next month or two. I hope you find them helpful.
Best of luck on your improvement! Softball is a blast, and it is even more fun when you aren't terrible at it! Trust me!!
The standing straight up and relaxing is a big one. Also keeping the shoulder level at all times. Baseball guys often drop the back shoulder to try and match the arch of the pitch
I'm going to get to that second one in a later video about bat path
hands down.. best video I've seen to show some of my newer players just getting into the competitive side of league ball
I appreciate the compliment! I hope the other videos in this series will be as well received as this first one. I don't want to let ya'll down!!
Yeah!! Finally someone is doing video slow pitch batting. 👏👏
Man I love that quote. 2:10
Haven’t/Never played at all, no baseball history. I hope this video is what I’m looking for to get started.
The good thing about having never played is the lack of bad habits or the belief that you know what you are doing. You can start at the basics. Hopefully, this video and the ones I'm currently working on will help you develop into a consistent hitter
24 and just started my first season of slowpitch, appreciate the videos they're exactly what I was looking for to help transition from baseball
Just found this channel. Not even truly sure how. Lol love this first video and am looking forward to watching the next ones in the series
My swing and stance ALWAYS changes and its frustrating. And i have 3 games tonight. Hopefully im able to take some of these tips and figure my shit out and hit like i know i can(and have in the past)
I appreciate the support, and the second video dropped this morning. While improving my swing, I found that less is often more. Relax and keep it simple!
Great video with full instruction without confusion. Will look forward to part 2
I have searched high and low for a video like this. Thank you
Thank you for the support!
Nice video man! When I started slow pitch a few years ago, I had a very similar stance and hitting style as you.
It took me a real breakdown to get any kind of consistency, power and distance, and it’s still a WIP. Keep it up buddy!
My swing is still very much work in progress. The biggest difference these days is that I can usually figure out what I'm doing wrong pretty quickly. But getting my brain and body to do the right thing can often be difficult
This is a great video. I’ve appreciated your work these couple years.
Thanks! I appreciate your support!!
Starting out tee work can really help. He has good Tanner tee that raises pretty high. Be aware if you get a less expensive tee you may need to put it on a bucket , chair, plastic tub or something. Most tees are made for youth or baseball. Softball hitters make their living hitting pitches from bottom of ribs to shoulder height. Nipple high is about perfect. Still take tee off bucket to work on that waist to thigh high also for when you have to hit with 2 strikes.Last thing is dont put tee ON the plate. You want to hit ball out in front of the plate. Good luck
Great tips!
Thanks!
Good job brother, thanks for the videos really helped
Love to hear it!
Solid video.
Thanks!
Very helpful…. My second season playing slow pitch softball since age 14 and these minor adjustments help
I am happy to hear it! Keep up the hard work!!
An educational video on slow pitch softball? No way! No montage of you just crushing 500 foot bombs and pimp walking like a jackass? "Just swing the Miken 10,000 like that and you'll be a douche like me"
Haha seriously though love the videos, you found an uncovered part of CZcams that could be epic and super helpful! Best of luck!
"No montage of you just crushing 500 foot bombs and pimp walking like a jackass?"
Dude, I have goals! I ain't putting in all this work just to fly out to short and pimp walk like a jackass!!
@@DLeagueBP Haha! So many videos out there from other channels titled "how to improve your swing" and then it's just clips of them hitting home runs... You actually breakdown useful tips/reasons us D leaguers suck. Keep it up!
Thanks! I appreciate the support!
Baseball player that just joined a beer league.. thanks for the tips. I'm finding myself struggling and I think alot of it is old baseball habits.
Some of those baseball habits are useful, others, not so much. I hope these videos help you figure it out!
Great stuff man, thank you.
By the way what kind of batting gloves are those?
Thanks! And the batting gloves are from Warstic. I love there Workman gloves for BP
15:12 "I'm gonna run that out by the way" 😂
Very helpful. Any recommendations on how to keep eyes on the ball?
Do some tee work, and do not take your eye off the tee to watch the hit. Keep your eyes fixed on the top of the tee through the entire swing. If you are able to easily watch the tee in this drill, then you may just need to focus a bit more on the ball. If it feels like your head is being pulled off the tee, then there is a good chance your front shoulder is flying open, and pulling your head with it.
I appreciate the question, and I'll try to add something about this in an upcoming video.
@@DLeagueBP awesome, many thanks! Looking forward to your new video.
Is part 2 out yet? Great video!
Thanks! Not yet. I had an afternoon where i tried to film it, but the wind messed up the audio. Hopefully I'll get it done soon
Need part 2!
I'm trying to get it to you! Hopefully it will be out in the next week or so
You can lower the tee for low pitch hitting practice. With 2 strikes that will be a benefit.
Swing at strikes. And if that pitch is going to be a strike on you, you are probably too far back in the box.
Hit most of your balls between your belt and arms pits. If you occasionally want to practice blasting a low one, go for it. But it should absolutely not be your focus
@@DLeagueBP Great advice.
@DleagueBP What Tee are you using?????
Since I'm 6'3", I needed something tall. So I went with the G Tee from Smashit Sports. I love it! But, Tanner Tees are also highly recommended.

Champs what type of slow pitch bat would you recommend for beginners, meaning loaded bat, balanced and end loaded 34-25,26,oz. Thanks
These questions are difficult to answer because my recommendation is always "swing what is comfortable." But, for people just starting out, I typically recommend they start by trying a 25 or 26 oz balanced bat. Something with a 13" or longer barrel. But really, bat choice comes down to comfort. Ask 10 different people, you may get 10 different answers
I’m a good batter but I played fast pitch baseball and now I’m on a company co ed slow pitch team and it’s different
If you can hit a baseball, you have all the tools necessary to be a good slowpitch player. Just need to make a few adjustments!
Do you sell shirts
Not yet, but it is something I have been considering
