4-Year-Old’s Warning Saves House from Air Fryer Fire

- After an air fryer exploded into flames, a little girl in a tutu saved the day. Dad Daniel Jermyn had just made French fries and chicken nuggets when 4-year-old Amelia discovered the blaze. As if on cue, the soundtrack to the movie “Frozen” started to play, and the little girl sprang into action. She ran to find her dad, who was brushing his teeth in the bathroom. Panicked, the dad picked up the flaming air fryer with his bare hands and tossed it into the pool. The stove was totally destroyed. #InsideEdition

Props to Dad for keeping it cool and tiptoeing around the dogs with a flaming ball of plastic in his hands, getting liquid napalm-like zoots dripped onto his feet, without even getting mad ie: swearing, blaming anyone, kicking the dog, freaking out and throwing things getting more stuff caught on fire or running away and letting the whole place be a total loss. He didn't even scream in pain. Good man. ♥️

My son did the same thing when he was only 2-3 years old except I put ramen noodles in the microwave and forgot to add water lol my son ran in my room and yelled “smoke, smoke!” And he literally stopped a fire from happening lol. ❤️ He is 12 now and tell him that story all of the time. 🥰

I'm not sure how their house is designed, but my old apartment only had a fire alarm by my bedroom (which, looking back, was a serious hazard waiting to happen) and that could be why it didn't go off.

I ran to my neighbours garage this week because I thought I smelled fire and when I looked I saw what I thought was smoke. I grabbed my HUGE fire extinguisher (I'm 5'2") and ran over. No fire. No smoke. I must have looked foolish, but I don't care, it's a duplex. He'd been using a drop saw in a confined space so it was just the smell of the friction on the wood and the fine dust coming out. I have four smoke alarms in my 72 square meter home. I'm 53, but remember when we had a kitchen fire when I was 4 years old and nearly lost our farmhouse. I'm not paranoid. I'm cautious. :)

I hope she knows it wasn’t actually her fault. I know that’s just a kid reaction to think something bad happening is their fault, and it was a scary situation, but it really wasn’t her fault. My smoke detectors go off while I'm only cooking so I can't see why they wouldn't have gone off... id have to assume they didn't have any. Also not knowing where your fire extinguisher is, is also not a really good thing. I keep mine under my sink right up front where its easily accessible. But I'm also that crazy person who unpluggs everything when I'm not using it. I don't even leave my phone charger plugged in when I'm not home.

@@evileddy9844 I think you’re reaching a bit here, he definitely didn’t punish her for this because it wasn’t her fault. She’s a child and most likely just automatically assumed she would be in trouble because she was the one who found the fire. Her parents say she’s imaginative and sometimes tells stories (lies) and they get on to her about that. So I’m guessing that’s why she thought she would get in trouble.
I’m not disagreeing about punishing a child for something they didn’t do being toxic though.

Don’t know how my dog would react to flames or smoke. But fire alarm goes off. Omg 😂 he goes high pitched with his barking and starts leading me to the door like come on mum we gotta go if I don’t listen it’s either getting close to getting nipped or he’ll circle me. He’s part collie so explains that part. 😂
