This gun was discontinued and replaced with the P320 striker only pistol. I try to answer the question if this gun is worth picking up in the secondary market. Is it still worth your money?
Yeah I doubt it. The Tec 9 is good for close range for t, but I dont really like it when its shooting at far ranges. So I just pick up the p250, and yes, it still does headshots.
As a retired law enforcement, I have carried a Sig P250 for several years and it has NEVER failed me in any way. It is extremely accurate, rugged and very reliable. I have the sub-compact and love it.
Just purchased mine recently with after market kit and had mine painted as well. I’m a retired disabled veteran but many law enforcement family suggested it!
I have been carrying it as well. also retired LEO. I have the compact in 45 cal and the 9mm . never had a problem with the weapon and qualify on it every year.
This is one of the most under-rated guns of early 2000's. It's legendary and fantastic. Chassis trigger works across all calibers unlike the P320... Plus the DA is just silly smooth.
For whatever reason, mine is spectacularly accurate in my hands. The sights, grip, and trigger all come together to just work for me. I grew up on revolvers and the double-action doesn’t disconcert me at all. In fact, I prefer it to a striker trigger. As of January 2024, I still shoot and carry my compact P250 regularly.
FYI, Armory Craft still makes an adjustable flat trigger for the P250. Just installed one last week and I love it. It's like night and day. Completely takes out all the slop in the DAO trigger.
My P250 Compact is still one of my favorite guns and the First one I bought for myself after leaving the nest. I've put thousands of rounds through it with all different ammo types and it eats everything with no Failures to feed or eject. (using the 15 round mag it comes with). when I use my three 17 round mags, if I put one in the chamber and reload to 17 the slide will get stopped after the first shot. unless I'm using higher pressure cartridges. So I have it loaded with Hornady Critical Duty and it can still go one in the chamber. It will run the 17rd mags just fine if its chambering the first round of 17. Also I bought this as my first handgun because I liked having the option to change Calibers. But I intended to keep it at 9mil. And Being modular made it real easy to clean after use. everything comes out quick and easy. Everything else people might not like about it is that it's a double action only pistol, And people have said that in a panic someone who is inexperienced with it can fail to let the release the trigger, you have to let it move back forward to reset after every shot.
I wanted one when new and couldn’t afford it at the time. I bought one a year ago and glad I was able to finally get one. I got the second generation frame. Mine is a compact 9mm. Sig should have kept this model around.
@@milkapeismilky5464 Hell yeah I did, I finally got it to the range today and ran 12 mags through it, no problems at all. Honestly I'm so happy I got this P250.

Found one at Cabelas about four or five years ago in a 40 S&W compact version for $349.00. I immediately jumped on it. I then ordered the 9mm subcompact conversation. It’s my edc. I love it!
I got my p250 full size in .45 ACP about 6 years ago or so (I can’t remember exactly when). I got it for $375 and it came with 2 extra magazines, a hard case and soft case. It has been one of the most accurate and reliable sidearms I own. I have never had a failure or malfunction with it.

Hey buddy, new sub here... I just did a video on the P250 SC vs the Shield... And they are definitely still good viable carry options. The DAO isn't for everyone, but once you get used to it...
Good video. I have had a couple Sig 250s for several years; in 9mm and 45 ACP. I had the full size, compact and subcompacts packages in 9mm and the full size and compact in 45. When the 320 came along, I bought the 320 compact. I liked it, but I ended up selling it. I prefer the double action trigger in the 250. The 320's trigger was too light for me when I was under stress and adrenilin was flowing. If I am facing human beings rather than cardboard or steel, too light a trigger is too bad. I like to be able to change my mind when I look into somebody's eyes as I pull a trigger. Such is life. Cordially...
@@TheBoxingCannabyte I was in the Army 72-75, but I was stationed in Germany. I was trained though by Vietnam vets. Armory Craft has a flat trigger available (Aug 2022). Just installed it in my P250 compact with a Wilson Combat grip. I’m 78 and have sold my glocks, CZs, Walther and a few others because I can no longer rack them reliably. Sigs rack fine. I shoot my M-18 best, but love my P250 DAO. My least favored is the P365SAS.
There are issues with the Armory Craft triggers. The 250 has a lot of variances and Armory Craft has tried to match them all but buy beware. They do honor their warranty since I had to return it.

It is a good gun to have only if you plan on having one gun that offer the double action only for safety reason. The option for conversion to different calibers theory's pretty much out the window because when Sig was still making this gun, the conversion kit was/is not readily available, if you could find a conversion kit, it cost almost as much as a whole gun so might as well buy the whole gun. If you converted it to another caliber, then you would have to buy extra mag for that caliber and the mag for the P250 weren't and aren't cheap, cost will quickly add up. It reminds me the printer for computer, the printer maybe low cost, but they get you on the ink cartridges. An average price for the P-250 mag are about $49.00 today. If you plan on having one gun with a smooth long double action trigger pull (smoother and lighter than the revolvers) for everyday use, it's a gun for you. One can carry this and don't have to worry about accidental fire, and that's the same reason revolvers are preferred in certain situation.
Yep, I worked with Armory Craft for several months trying to get a trigger working and we couldn't get it. From AC, there are almost a dozen variations of the trigger kit for the 250 and they don't have triggers for them all. I was unlucky.
I have to say that I've had one of these for a long time, the 9mm version (well, that was before the boating accident) but when I had it, it would eject brass straight toward my face. My grip is fine, ejector looks fine, using brand new ammunition. Perhaps mine is a lemon but it's not very enjoyable to shoot when hot brass flies down your shirt and burns your chest. I want to love this gun but that is a pretty big issue for me. One day I will get around to giving SIG a call to see if there is anything that can be done.
i bought mine new, a 9mm compact, have had it since i think it first came out or maybe the second year? i practice regularly. never any failures, except if i top off the 17 round mag and then there is an intermittant issue on the second round. at first i was not fond of the trigger style but got used to it and find it to be very accurate and a go to in reserve if the time comes. it would be my open carry in the event of a rick grimes shtf situation. i would use the locking hard plastic holster and the extra mags holster that came with mine when new. also have an original sig mount-on red dot and strobe flashlight attachment that mounts perfectly in front of the trigger, very fond of this pistol. wont sell it.
@@ronaldsiegrist156 want to buy mine? lol. no, I recently deep cleaned the crap out of it and tried some high quality ammunition and it didn't exhibit any of those behaviors... I think this gun might just be an ammo snob! I tried some Monilithic hollow points (very expensive) and then some SIG branded 9mm target ammo and everything went great. Hoping it stays that way. As far as the trigger goes... I prefer my 1911.
@@lappoo5875 of course i think most of us do. my SIG and kimber abd court 1911s are my favorites door a reason.just liked you i imagine. i personally take the 250 or 229 ( that and the mk25 226 with a short reset trigger and my modded beretta added my absolute favorites. ) there's a revolver cakked the manhurin that might be my favorite gun ever! used by Germany top ct unit for a reason. very expensive tho
I had a P250 full-size in .40. it was my first "real gun". I found it for a good deal at Gander Mountain for about $400 out the door. I am a good shot but chambered in .40 plus it being DAO I didn't have great groupings and I wasn't a fan of the long deliberate trigger pull. Fortunately I had a buddy that wanted it and sold it to him. I went out and bought a P226 Legion in 9mm. Best decision I ever made. I once again enjoyed shooting and have amazing groupings. I would try a P320-M17 if I could but since I have a gun that performs better it would be a step backwards I feel.
I never understood the dislike of this trigger. For those who have experience with SF guns it is a different technique. My guess is they attempt to utilize a trigger pull that works well with a Glock, on this gun. That will not work. Most who have experience with DA revolvers would like this trigger pull AND reset.
hammer-fired guns provide a better shooting experience, a beneficial trigger challenge that improves shooting, and supreme simplicity ... sadly, millennial shooters lacking experience with revolvers and who are myopically attuned to striker-fired guns will miss out
Is there another gun that has a DOA trigger like the 250 I have been searching for a newer gun to replace it I dont want a revolver and I dont want DOA/SOA
Um, probably. But I haven't looked at that. Reach our to LTT and ask Ernest Langdon. I am willing to bet so. You could also look for the "C" model (constant trigger) which is a bit different still. I LOVE my PX4 compact. Easy to shoot. Easy to shoot fast AND accurately
Me too, doesn't reliably fire steel case ammo. Since I only use that for cheap plinking no big deal. With brass it's been very reliable through about 2k rounds. Great gun.
Are you sure? I feed my full size p250 all kinds of ammo, steel brass, copper, aluminum.... all feed nice. From cheap crap ammo to premium self defense ammo. Have your firing pin checked.

I hate the trigger on that P250. I have a P320 XCompact which is striker fired, it's got probably the best trigger of any striker fired semi-auto save for maybe the Walther PPQ. Not saying the P250 is a bad gun, I just hate that long hard trigger pull on that thing.
it's good for eco rounds but after the money cycle changes you rarely eco anymore these days. I personally only use it on T pistol rounds

Yep, I worked with Armory Craft for several months trying to get a trigger working and we couldn't get it. From AC, there are almost a dozen variations of the trigger kit for the 250 and they don't have triggers for them all. I was unlucky.
Short answer, yes
I have to say that I've had one of these for a long time, the 9mm version (well, that was before the boating accident) but when I had it, it would eject brass straight toward my face. My grip is fine, ejector looks fine, using brand new ammunition. Perhaps mine is a lemon but it's not very enjoyable to shoot when hot brass flies down your shirt and burns your chest. I want to love this gun but that is a pretty big issue for me. One day I will get around to giving SIG a call to see if there is anything that can be done.
why wait so long to send back to sig? better do it already.
i bought mine new, a 9mm compact, have had it since i think it first came out or maybe the second year? i practice regularly. never any failures, except if i top off the 17 round mag and then there is an intermittant issue on the second round. at first i was not fond of the trigger style but got used to it and find it to be very accurate and a go to in reserve if the time comes. it would be my open carry in the event of a rick grimes shtf situation. i would use the locking hard plastic holster and the extra mags holster that came with mine when new. also have an original sig mount-on red dot and strobe flashlight attachment that mounts perfectly in front of the trigger, very fond of this pistol. wont sell it.
@@lappoo5875 of course i think most of us do. my SIG and kimber abd court 1911s are my favorites door a reason.just liked you i imagine. i personally take the 250 or 229 ( that and the mk25 226 with a short reset trigger and my modded beretta added my absolute favorites. )
there's a revolver cakked the manhurin that might be my favorite gun ever! used by Germany top ct unit for a reason. very expensive tho
I didn’t know about the mags😮
Love my P250 I wouldn't take 2 Glocks for it.
I'd take the 2 glocks, sell them and buy 3 p250's :)
I use it because its a cheaper 1-hit headshot than the 5.7, Tec9 and Deagle
I shot mine in IDPA competions. thousands of rounds, zero failures. did I win? no. but they are great units.
Did you not win because of your skill level or limitations of the platform?
i prefer it as a sidearm to an ssg08/awp on T Side
I never understood the dislike of this trigger. For those who have experience with SF guns it is a different technique. My guess is they attempt to utilize a trigger pull that works well with a Glock, on this gun. That will not work.
Most who have experience with DA revolvers would like this trigger pull AND reset.
Because those people can’t shoot anyway
I like my p250 compact 9mm it my travel buddy.
My EDC.
Where can I still find the full size X Change kit. 40cal
I have a p250 compact 40cal
Most likely the second hand market is your best bet.
Can you use this in mass?
2 words, laser training.
hammer-fired guns provide a better shooting experience, a beneficial trigger challenge that improves shooting, and supreme simplicity ... sadly, millennial shooters lacking experience with revolvers and who are myopically attuned to striker-fired guns will miss out
A friend of mine has one. The trigger pull is ridiculously long on it. He wants to trade me for my Glock 26. But no way I am gonna trade him.
Is there another gun that has a DOA trigger like the 250 I have been searching for a newer gun to replace it I dont want a revolver and I dont want DOA/SOA
You could also look for a Beretta PX4 Storm in DAO, but that will also be second hand market
@@niadhf can you convert one to DAO ?
@@niadhf that's actually the gun I was looking at or an HKP30 with LEM trigger
Um, probably. But I haven't looked at that.
Reach our to LTT and ask Ernest Langdon. I am willing to bet so.
You could also look for the "C" model (constant trigger) which is a bit different still.
I LOVE my PX4 compact. Easy to shoot. Easy to shoot fast AND accurately
@@niadhf hey thanks I'll look into these suggestions it'll also be my first Beretta!
excellent gun, however I found it had issues with hard primers and therefore for me was not as reliable as I needed it to be.

Mine doesn't like steel Barnaul ammo either. Good for dummy round drills though.
Just bought my P250 and had it painted in digital camo on hand grip area and tethered American flag on sliding handle… 2022 $650 no accessories and before paint job
love mine a semi auto revolver so to speak would never part with it
I have the compact P250 45 acp. Can I convert to a 357 Sig?
You'll need a 357/40 barrel and slide
I wish I could find a replacement recoil spring for my subcompact 9mm but no where to be found 🤦🏼♂️
ISATLEN GREYREF contact Sig
do you want to trade for my asiimov skin
I hate the trigger on that P250. I have a P320 XCompact which is striker fired, it's got probably the best trigger of any striker fired semi-auto save for maybe the Walther PPQ. Not saying the P250 is a bad gun, I just hate that long hard trigger pull on that thing.
I agree, if you were an early adopter there were aftermarket triggers that would lighten the load, those are all dried up now.
Best trainer you can find. If you can shoot a 2.5-3 inch group you can shoot.
I have a P250 in 40cal. Great shooting gun. You have to practice with DAO but if you do you will be hooked.
Probably
This is why you buy the rifle
5:19, if you want to skip past 5 minutes of rambling and hear him provide the answer.
Which is a yes. In his opinion.
Idk how I feel about mine. Might sell it
I'll take it!
you have to train with this weapon
@Frank Tank i would suggest that all firearms are weapons.
I know where serial # 50 is 😎
I just want a silly billy csgo gun
Just facts, no personal experience... Is it precise for you etc... Shallow, sorry, just being realistic.
Who else here plays critical ops
I am a sig fan ,but the 250 not their best effort
👎
They learned a lot on the 250. It's a perfectly serviceable pistol, but they made a lot of changes making it hard for 3rd parties to keep up with it.
$300 a round :/
This pistol is good for seniors.
No
lol, really?
