- Introduction:
In today’s video, you will practice kinds of sentences. A sentence is a group of words giving a complete thought. A sentence must contain a subject and a verb.
What is a sentence?
A word, clause, or phrase or a group of clauses or phrases forming a syntactic unit which expresses an assertion, a question, a command, a wish, an exclamation, or the performance of an action, that in writing usually begins with a capital letter and concludes with appropriate end punctuation, and that in speaking is distinguished by characteristic patterns of stress, pitch, and pauses is called a sentence.
Ideally, a sentence requires at least one subject and one verb. Sometimes the subject of a sentence can be hidden, but the verb must be visible and present in the sentence.
Why is sentence structure important?
Although the English language and writing can be complicated, the rules of writing and grammar help people communicate effectively. Every writer follows the same structure and rules of writing so that they can effectively write for their readers to understand them.
Often times in writing, we know what we want to say, but it doesn't seem to come outright. Therefore, it is recommended to study the sentence structure.
Importance of English grammar:
English grammar is one of the most important elements of your language study. Unfortunately, it can also be one of the most complex and difficult if you’re not familiar with the rules and don’t practice them.
Grammar refers to the rules and regulations that govern spoken and written language. Grammar is the code that makes language work. It is through proper grammar that we are able to communicate in a clear manner that people can understand.
Good grammar means writing or speaking in such a way that your choice of words is understandable and follows the basic rules of sentence construction, punctuation, and spelling. So learning English grammar is critically important before thinking of writing or speaking English.

I think that the answer of 2nd question is compound because "he was sharp and intelligent " and " he became the director of the company" are both independent clauses.
One clause is dependent. You didn't pay attention to subordinating conjunction "as" which is in the beginning of the sentence. These tiny little mistakes can really create trouble if accumulated. Sorry for the late response....

sir in question no.5 in first clause we have only one subject you and verb apply and similarly we have you as a subject and find as a verb in second clause and both clauses are giving complete meaning as well as connected by coordinating conjunction so how it is a compound complex sentence instead of compound sentence
Dear Jehanzeb,
Sorry for the late response. Actually you've answered your own question. If you look at the definition, it will be more clear. 2 independent clauses and a dependent clause....
You are wrong bcz there are two conjunctions used. One is when( a subordinating conjuction) and the other is or(coordinate conjunction). I think its clear now.
Sir question 10 is compound because 2 independent clause in this sentence
