- Introduction:
In today’s video, you will practice the kinds of sentences. A sentence is a group of words giving a complete thought. A sentence must contain a subject and a verb.
What is a sentence?
A word, clause, or phrase or a group of clauses or phrases forming a syntactic unit that expresses an assertion, a question, a command, a wish, an exclamation, or the performance of an action, that in writing usually begins with a capital letter and concludes with appropriate end punctuation, and that in speaking is distinguished by characteristic patterns of stress, pitch, and pauses is called a sentence.
Ideally, a sentence requires at least one subject and one verb. Sometimes the subject of a sentence can be hidden, but the verb must be visible and present in the sentence.
Why is sentence structure important?
Although the English language and writing can be complicated, the rules of writing and grammar help people communicate effectively. Every writer follows the same structure and rules of writing so that they can effectively write for their readers to understand them.
Often times in writing, we know what we want to say, but it doesn't seem to come outright. Therefore, it is recommended to study the sentence structure.
Importance of English grammar:
English grammar is one of the most important elements of your language study. Unfortunately, it can also be one of the most complex and difficult if you’re not familiar with the rules and don’t practice them.
Grammar refers to the rules and regulations that govern spoken and written language. Grammar is the code that makes language work. It is through proper grammar that we are able to communicate in a clear manner that people can understand.
Good grammar means writing or speaking in such a way that your choice of words is understandable and follows the basic rules of sentence construction, punctuation, and spelling. So learning English grammar is critically important before thinking of writing or speaking English.

Question 16: correct answer is complex sentence because it has 1 independent and 1 dependent clause. In " and was proud of his success " and is used as an article not as coordinate conjunction if it is used as conjunction then comma must be place before it
In 3rd question there are three independent clause which is a compound sentence.

question 16 : Because he attended all the classes, he got good marks and was proud of his success. it should be complex not compound-complex because there is only one indepependant clause.
I also think it's a complex sentence
It’s a compound-complex sentence since it has a conjunction and a comma which is creating a connection between the 3 sentences
No it's compound complex it doesn't show 1 independent and 2 or more dependent it shows 1 dependent and 2 independent clause
It's a complex sentence because " was proud of his success" is not an independent clause it serves as part of the "he got good marks in the exam" so the sentence after that comma is an independent clause. Hence one dependent and one independent making it a complex sentence
it is compound complex because it has two independent sentence and a dependent sentence. "he got good mark" is one independent and the "was proud of him" is another one. there is no subject but it is an elliptical clause. we take the subject from the first statement
Thanks a lot ❣️

Why is the Q25 Compound -Complex? To make a compound complex sentences you need at least two independent causes. I'm confused. Can anybody help me?
"I Still want to work here","I like the environment".......First is principal and other is co-ordinating...both are Independent.
@@absakash2851 its said "because I like the environment" that makes it dependent clause
I have low salary and I want to work yere
I think it's only complex. you are right
Numbers 3,16 and 22 have wrong answers Nevertheless, this video clip is truly helpful. Thank you.
Q3 is it actually a compond sentence? I don't get why it's a complex in this one?
"So" and "and" use in compond sentence and they are all complete thought in all 3 sentences. Do I miss something?
Q16. Dependent clause + independent clause = complex sentence ( "and " independent clause link 2verbs by sharing only one subject so that doesn't make it compond sentense.)
yes, u' re right
U right 100%
My god! I got only 22 points in this questions and answe
3rd one is compond the three independent clauses are connected with 2 coordinating conjunctions
Yes
Right
True
My 20 crt
Q3 and Q16 are incorrect.
Q3 is compound. There are 3 independent clauses joined by coordinating conjunctions.
Q16 is complex. "Because he attended all the classes" is a dependent clause.
"he got good marks in the exam and was proud of his success" is a one independent clause. It has a subject and a compound predicate, but it is still one independent clause.
U r right
He got good marks in the exam is 1st ind/main clause
and was proud of his success is 2nd ind clause
THE option in the video is correct. because in complex only 1 main clause is used with 1 or more sub ordinating clauses. However in the question there are 2 main clause and 1 subordinate clause
How 17 compound sentence?I can't understand 🤔
Apne shayad conjunction (;)pe focus nahi kiya.
It has two main clause
My all was correct 🤟🤟
How 12th is the compound sentence? I would have got the job is it an independent clause if so! How?

I m confused too but not much comments on this.. "mujhe job mil jata" seems dependent
17?

How Q.23 be complex sen ??😢
Why the 3rd sentence is compound complex? It is just compound no?
Hi dear! Absolutely not... By look you can recognize; there is a dependent clause and two independent clauses.
Me either thought it's compound but after you reread it you recognize that there is two independent clauses: we decided not go outside , and. We cooked dinner at home
@@hopeshope5804 even so we decided not go outside is independent 🤷🏼♀️
@@lucygome9635 I think it's dependent because it doesn't express a complete thought
@@hopeshope5804 "so "is from the fanboys and we just find them in compound sentence 🤷🏼♀️
