    Hello Sir, I have a query.
    Dr P. V. Vartak has described Uranus, Neptune & Pluto as Shveta, Shyama & Teevra. What is your take on that?

    • @NileshOak
      @NileshOak  Před 2 měsíci +2

      Namaskar
      1. What P V Vartak did (or tried) was a great attempt, indeed. Esepcially, when you realize that no other Mahabharata researcher out of 100+ who claimed a year for Mahabharata war, even bothered to make sense of Shveta, Shyama and Tivra grahas.
      2. I have decisively shown that while 'Tivra=Pluto' is correct/acceptable/feasible, based on the position of Pluto near Krittika
      This is not the case for Shveta and Shayma
      3. I have shown that Shveta refers to Saturn and Shayma refers to Jupiter based on additional descriptions related to their actions (Akramya) and position (near Chitra for Shveta and near Jyestha for Shyama).
      Warm regards
      Nilesh Oak

      One of the commentators of the Mahabharata text refers to this planet (Mahapat). Original Mahabharata does not refer to Mahapata.
      It is not clear which planet the commentator had in mind.

      Based on currently available and testable evidence, Krishna was born in 5633 BCE and left his body in 5525 BCE.

    Namaskar &
    Thank you, Dr. @Nilesh Oak for referring to my question and posting your views in this video.
    I have a query on the methodology applied to ascertain 5561 BCE. See presentation around 17:30. The method appears to be similar to the one applied by Dr. Vartak, as explained in his book.
    While he assessed, he relates making use of the help of a computer literate person to arrive at his year. In his assessment he appears to have not incorporated correction to include the effect of precession on the true position of these two planets. As he calculated while going into his past, the ayanamsha correction would be positive. Consequently, the Mahabharata position of these planets would have been achieved sooner.
    If one uses modern ayanamsha calculator, his year amounts to about 13 days equivalent of overestimation.
    Best regards

    • @NileshOak
      @NileshOak  Před 9 měsíci

      Namaskar
      1. The similarity is with respect to 10 descriptions of Saturn and Jupiter and identifying constraints on their positions via Tarkashatra and TantraYukti.
      2. Otherwise, my interpretations are distinctly different than those employed by Dr. P. V. Vartak. They are explained in my book.
      3. I have employed astronomy simulations that are dynamic for Ayanamsha corrections and dynamic visual astronomy to validate astronomy descriptions of the Mahabharata text.
      4. 16 October-2 November 5561 BCE is indeed the 18-day period of the Mahabharata War
      Hope this helps.

    How do we know that these were not two different issues? The storytellers used accurate findings from astronomy to ground their stories into a historical context. Writers of historical novels often use factual information as a background to their stories. Jane Austen kept calendars from many years prior so that not one date is out of place in the lives of her characters. This was no small feat in a pre-internet era. Using astronomy cannot prove that any of the events in either the Ramayana or the Mahabharata actually took place. It only proves that whoever wrote them was well versed in astronomy.

      Whether the actual event of war happened on that date or not can be confirmed only by using astrological yogas/mediniiy jyotish i guess...and that can cnfrm whether mahabharat is an itiihaas or a mahaakaavya.
