👏 normalize wolf-coded characters doing something other than "snarling" or "growling." There's never any whimpering or yipping or whining, and I feel like we rarely even get "he barked" or "he howled". Wolves aren't perma-angy and it's silly to pretend that they aren't going to act at least a little bit like giant puppies at times, I will die on this hill
Most wolves are submissive rather than dominant, because only 2 members of the pack get to be fully dominant, the mom and the dad. The rest are all pretty much submissive to them and when they're not, they basically get spanked lol. The others can have some level of respect they expect from younger individuals but for the most part they are all supposed to be nice to each other or else they get in trouble, and even more so, nice to their parents or else they REALLY get in trouble.
So basically, we should be seeing a lot more submissive wolf people than we do. Only the parents should be any kind of dominant tbh. If we want to base them off of real wolf packs. Or at least, the wolf-coded characters should be submissive to people they respect, because that's how wolf culture works. It's respect based. That's why the older individuals get to be more dominant. And it's why dogs are loyal to humans when trained properly- they respect us and view us as dominant, so they are submissive. Wolves are the same way.

Apparently the wolves in Twilight are just "native shapeshifters" but also actual werewolves do exist in universe they're just never shown. The creators mormon so creating weirdly racist depictions of native people is pretty on brand tbh.

I think it's kind of cool. I wouldn't say turning into a bad ass wolf is a bad thing. And I always thought the weird tribe stuff was just, well.. how that tribe is. I don't know, honestly. I wouldn't say the authors faith has anything to do with the book unless shown otherwise. Most movies and books are just retellings of bible stories and a lot of them suck. I would argue it's a writing problem. The characters are written into holes to the point that their character has to flip their personality traits. They literally kill Jacob off as a character half way through the series because he was too likeable. He goes from somewhat understanding and being cool with them being friends (even if slightly hoping) to not wanting her with Edward, not wanting her to die, and forcing himself on her through manipulation. It really is a writing problem imo and not a faith problem.

Yeah, I mean if an autistic person became a wolf person with wolf instincts I'd imagine they'd generally be worse at subduing them. It kind of tracks logically. The lead is autistic and owns it and tries his best not to apologize for it, and the love interest learns very quickly how to adapt to him and his needs while being himself as well. It was lovely to see, even when things (inevitably) fell apart for a bit because of (what else) poor communication. It was just one misunderstanding though, and gets resolved relatively quickly. Most of the book is wholesome (and erotic af).
I didn't think "COWBOY WOLF CHRISTMAS" was the actaul title lol

WHAT did this have to DO with CHRISTMAS 😂??? What is even HAPPENING LMAOOO !!! My brain literally combusted when neurotypicals & divergents became a part of the equation. And him switching up on the SPOT because he learned she was autistic ???? 🧍Where am I XDD !!! If you want a romance novel with an autistic read, try Helen Huang's stuff. I've read two of her books, The Kiss Quotient and The Bride Test, both of which have an autistic lead (one has an autistic male lead, one an autistic female lead). They're both quite good, although they do fall back on that classic romance novel miscommunication a little.
