@@Tokomak_5 FreeCAD Interface is ugly (like the name of the app...), but it works fine, I switched from the same softwares you use and after a little bit it gets way better!

Pay attention around minute 5:40.....might be because of that? I haven't used windows in ages but I remember people using glass on windows in the forum. Keep me updated
Thanks pretty sure I followed that but will try again tomorrow and let you know. One difficulty in the beginning is the folder naming in the system (Kd neon) is different than windows. Once i figure it out I will post.
While the glass add-on was the one that started the interface overhaul, I sincerely wish that Realthunder's overlay interface was merged as soon as possible. It has so much more functionality. Cheers

Hi, in Win7 I installed the "Glass" addon and now my user interface looks like yours. Do you know if it is possible to convert the Combo View box into a dynamic object? ... for example, if I work on a 3D model the box may remain closed, but I select a function from the application tree the box may appear (fade in, fade out, or scroll left-right)

I had no issues setting this up under Windows 7 but I'm running into the black background issue under Kubuntu 18.04 I saw on the freecad forums that you were battling with the issue as well. How did you manage to solve it? I'm running the latest daily FreeCAD build appimage.
I'm glad it somehow worked out for you. I was having problems with the ppa version and not the appimage one. I found it strange that you have probs with the appimage. Unfortunately, it seems to be dependent on graphical drivers/QT interaction and we never really solved the issue. Try upgrading to kubuntu 20.04? I'm on kde Neon and it works like a charm
Had it working on windows install 0.18 but buggy, switched to linkstage distro 09/2021.No luck, Glass environment should be considered essential one click plugin, makes the screen so much more comfortable. If I had more to give other than feedback I would. Governments & industry should support Freecad as the biggest bottleneck in innovation is innovation itself!
The overlay interface is built in the core of linkstage3 thanks to realthunder's work. You have no need of the Glass addon. There is a customization video for LinkStage3 on my channel, Watch it and choose your customizations but you already have all the glass functionilities plus allot more already available whiteout any extra addon

And so far on my Mac I am unable to get the Combo View to float. Not sure what 'Q+1' means but holding the 'q' key and then typing a '1' just shifts to the Front view (same as hitting the '1' alone).!?

No coding skills required other then modifing 2 lines of text in a file. Also search for realthunder's overlay interface in the FC forum. He is integrating this kind of functionality in to FC core

Please don't install Glass, it's proper hell. I have spent ages losing my mind why i can't click on the left third of the screen. The concept might be OK but it's so unfinished as to better not be used and it's abandoned for 4 years. I forgot i have Glass and there's no obvious way to configure it, not when you forgot you have it.
WTF? Begin the tutorial with instructions to DELETE freecad folders? ARE YOU SURE? What about to rename or move them instead? Lots of users are not "advanced" so much and they accidentally can delete their working configs because of trying some customization from youtube... Aaaargh!
This customisations are giving me hope that one day FreeCAD will have a usable interface!

The interface colour can be set in one operation, choose 'Simple Colour' (instead of colour gradient) and then pick the colour you want.

When I press Q1 with a 2022 linkstage3-version the tree view appears shortly but vanishes after 1 second again
