Put the fanaticism first and we have decreasing order of realism.

@@richmcgee434 I have a quote that I have been sitting on. "How much of this would you feel comfortable being my blood?"
And I made my Survivor's blood green and freaky because I wanted to make him feel like he popped out of a superhero/horror/monster comic of the era. (and it's just fun)

It's a joke in my family that the heroes of stories always have dead parents because they would never be allowed to go on adventures otherwise. Now we finally have a game where you can BE the boring hero parents who don't let their kids go on adventures!

I like "Get it done" for that lunatic plane that has -Infinity stability.
"I succeed! Mostly! That's good because I needed to roll a 30 on 2d10 to get a clear success."
    Hard Drinking: Just nifty.
Old Reliable: I think everyone would want this one, but particularly the farmer. +8 toughness and +3 reliability are pretty amazing in any of the matchstick planes they get.
There are also a lot of otherwise tough planes that would be very happy to push the engine.. except with the chance of engine failure.
No Drama: Wow, I would always take this one. This is what makes you the party dad and will give you a ton of experience when everyone chooses to vent on you.

What does it say about me that my ideal RPG power fantasy is being a functional, responsible adult that's moderately competent and reliably useful to the team?

  • @InchonDM

Compare and contrast with the Scion and, interestingly, Believer. You'd expect the Scion to have conflict with the Worker, and there is -- the Scion's all selfish and the Worker is very much about the team.
But there's a REALLY stark contrast between the Worker and the Believer there. The Worker is "I trust all of them, because I'm here to do my job and I have no reason to fight any of them." The Believer, however, is "Trust NO ONE." You only start seeing more parallels like this as you look more at the two playbooks. Considering that two of the Believer's biggest, starkest inspirations are things that are normally associated with, or try to be associated with, or worst, _claim_ to be associated with common working folks, this split goes a long, long way to putting the Believer into its proper context.

My head hurts just thinking about all the cross-playbook shenanigans Workers can start with. Old Reliable + You Came in That Thing? is just scratching the surface, and those Worker stat arrays make them better than many at dipping into other playbooks. The double XP thing hurts, but they should also be earning XP like mad as long as the money keeps rolling in. Which it ought to. If nothing else, you should be collecting fees for teaching all the stripling brats around you the Hard Drinking move. :)
