This guy bombed pretty hard, i kinda feel bad for him. He took way too long to get to his punch line out of 3 jokes.
This one hit close, can relate in so many ways. Could feel this one
@Marcel Braden no...no one cares fuckboi

@@Canzandridas It's an admission that he went off his meds
I'd change the part of, "You don't deserve" to, "You're not even worthy of"
Beautiful story, I love how he walks the tight rope between comedy, profound lessons and pure fuckin' darkness.
I wasn't expecting to sad-cry over a comedy clip... normally it's tears of laughter, but this was pure brilliant!
The man is a true artist and master of his craft 👍
who started cutting onions when he said she called him her little fuzzy bear
SAWING onions, my good sir.
You saw the guy with the white and blue checkered shirt with glasses trying to do the sneaky tear wipe right?
That would have been me.
+people get mad - You seem like a pretty angry person. Are you ok? Would you like somebody to talk to?
nope, i'm not mad. Are you a psychologist, or a mind reader?
This one cuts close to the bone.
Shout out to awesome mums and wonderful nurses.
My mom's a nurse. It means a lot.
*mom

@@firecrakka Ha you're right. I call my mom mum, too. I just spell it mom when I write the word in reference to others.

What a powerful story.... I didn't expect this when clicking Comedy Central.
+people get mad - How so?
Agreed.. but i so needed this in ways i never expected.
Pete was incredibly brave telling that story on stage. Very moving and he still found some humor in the story which he told beautifully. This one is up there along with Joey Diaz's stories. Poured his soul out for all to see. Thanks Pete.
This show is like group therapy, lets somebody let go of a memory that's painful, embarrassing, scary, a time they can now be sarcastic about, laughter is healing. And being able to entertain while letting go of something is probably the coolest thing ever. Love to all these amazing REAL people who share their lives with us!
Thats an amazing analogy ✊🏽
Tell Robin Williams laughter is healing
Oh yeah
@@seangethers9991 what analogy?
@@seangethers9991 nevermind, I'm an idiot
and this is exactly why i like this format so much, because it is so much more than comedy. you made me go through so many different emotions in such a short time, thanks for sharing your story! :)

this guy deserved a standing ovation, to have the balls to tell that dark part of his life and flip it to a positive and beautiful experience takes talent.
Ya know, there is something about losing a parent that gives you an understanding of his approach here. I totally get it and I smiled the whole way. Life is so messy and so painfully beautiful
This is by far the best story that's been featured on this show!
I am a nurse, a mom to teenage boys, and a daughter/sister in a fucked up family and I really appreciate this mans story in my soul, I’m weary, I needed this mixture of familiarity and comedy 💖
Literally cried during this one. Wow. What a good man.
It's very rare that someone can go back and forth between making you laugh and cry multiple times within the same story. I had never heard about him before this video, can't say anything about him as a comedian, but he earns all of my respect as a storyteller for this bit.
this is the darkest humour i've ever witnessed
You should look up Doug Stanhope talking about assisted suicide with his mother. Along the same lines but very dark.
+Christopher Borelli "Ma, wait! They found a cure!"
You've obviously never listened to Anthony Jeselnik
stop spoiling my virgin soul
Alex French Bill Hicks is my favorite.
These stories... sometimes we get one that hits home from a person who truly knows how to articulate things that have happened.
Bro, you are f**king amazing. Your mom is blessed to have you as her legacy.
"....and he passed away without pain" *trap drum roll*
LOL. That’s how the eulogy at my funeral will end.
Ashes to ashes... *Air Horns* dust to dust *rolling drum*
Much respect to this man. Great story!
What an absolutely moving story. Really made me feel a lot and appreciate both my parents for what they have taught me.
I like the double meaning of giving him pain meds. Even though his father's faith is irrational and damaging, by easing his pain he was keeping him in Purgatory, in the view of his father. So he got back at him in a very compassionate way. Great story, great guy. Best one yet.
i was looking for someone to comment this
Want some extra compassion? Since his wife ought to be in Purgatory, now he's there with her, too. Pete had everything figured out!
Pete sounds like a really great son 💕 I'm really enjoying this series. I just discovered the newer episodes and I'm binge watching them all now. It's very cool to see another side of these great comedians and hear how they came to be.
This is the kind of thing that reminds me we aren’t just observers, but innovators. What a beautiful amalgamation of emotion, humor, and wit.

Almost teared up a little - this is what comedy is all about.
I felt soooo many emotions. Great job. 10 outta 10 would recommend

This has to be the most humanity crammed into 15 minutes or less I have ever heard. This man has done an amazing thing, showcasing parts of the human experience. Truly well done.
It would be a great experience to hear this guy's life experience - I think he could do a one man play kind of thing just out of the glimpses of material we heard in this one clip!
You might check out Joey Diaz’s this is not happening. They’re somehow serious, like tragically sad, and actually lol hilarious. I suggest, on a Diaz episode, perusing the randomness sprinkled throughout the comment section bc some of them are gold.
@@robinmcinarnay7827 I am a fan of Joey Diaz's completely insane stories. The man has lived several lifetimes' worth of experience.
Went from laughing to absolutely sobbing. This guy is so talented
I can't say I laughed a lot, but I will say that this guy is a helluva story teller. You can tell he had a hard time keeping it together. I'll have to check out more of his stuff.
Also, RIP mom, you were the best.
very touching, great story.

That was heartbreaking, but very beautiful in a way
by far one of the most amazing stand up comedy stories shared to a live audience.. it's really inspiring3 and well put by him
I cried. Thanks for the story. Funny or not, it was a great story. Love and respect!!!!
That was truly great
Wow, that was great. Not so much comedy as it was food for thought with funny undertones. Much respect.
so good I can relate soooo much I lost both mine very much same way dad was Catholic denied his meds
side bar: I was a horrible addict at the time and stole half his oxys the last night if his life...shared with my ma for her pain but two years clean now
Then my ma passed away much in pain. til she finally had to go to hospital...she was in and out said our goodbyes and i made promise to get clean for her then she went into a coma and I couldn't be therewhen the time came tho her sis and her ma was with her I miss you ma and dad
I hope you are doing well you deserve it.
I was so glued to the screen watching this I swear I felt like I was there. I don't think I was ever so focused on someone telling a story than I was listening to this.
The structure of this story is way ahead of some of the other comedians on this show. Well done. Appreciate the writing.
I watch a shit ton of comedy and stand up and have for 10+ years since my early teens. This is one of the greatest routines I've ever seen. Pete is an incredible human being.
Lost my mom a year ago, and this is dead on. Cheers to all the actual good moms out there!
That was beautiful
yeah, this is a reality check for sure.
never thought about parents dying as much as in the past 14min
Tears. Such a beautiful story. This is why this is my favorite show.
The way he crafted and structured this was pure brilliance
What a range of emotions in this story. One of the best Ive heard. Cant honestly say Ive shed a tear during a comedy performance while laughing until now.
This was a really moving story, well told.
Keep this format going, Ari - the broadness of the content is appreciated.
I can honestly say this is the first stand up comedy story that ever made me laugh and ugly face cry...well done sir
Storytelling at its finest this one, brilliant!
Wow! I was not expecting any of that. Contrasts between sadness and humor that encompasses a lifetime and two deaths. Life is strange and beautiful. Truly funny and real set. It rips you one way, and then the other.
I felt this deep dude. I hope you get to see this and know I think that when the chips are down you’re a beautiful human being.
This is by far one of the best stories on this show
Most real story ever told on this series. Bravo.
Most relatable airport experience EVER. Incredible from start to finish.
This has got to be one of the best stories ever. Thank you Pete and thank you Canada!
This piece is the definition of dark comedy. It made me cry and I had fun at the same time.
Man I started watching this laughing so hard at his mom finding his porn but then I ended with a tear coming out of my eye. This was a freaking emotional rollercoaster. It was great.
My mom passed away from cancer a few years ago. I felt this one.
That was amazing. Great story. These "THIS IS NOT HAPPENING" are pretty damn great. Some, not so much, but lots of great stories from these.
aw pete... sending you massive love hugs :(
Loving this real story 7 years later!!! ❤
Just saw his show on Netflix, and now this one.
What an amazing human being.
Easily the best one yet that I've seen on this little binge. I'll be checkin out more of his stuff
powerful story. I'm glad they did try to edit this down to 8 minutes. good call ari.
Tony Sams this video is 14 minutes?
He obviously meant to write "didn't".
how honest and refreshing and real you are - nice to find this in amongst all the other stuff!
this is one of my favorites. if you think about it, giving his dad the pain medication was more of a payback than withholding it would have been.
I laughed, I cried, but mostly I cried. I'll be watching this guy's work if I can find it. I love a good storyteller
If tragedy plus time equals comedy… I love that he’s somewhere in time between tragedy and comedy
It’s a treacherous place however it rendered a really full, emotionally rich performance
Thank you so much Pete… Yours is an amazingly beautiful soul!!
I love the fact that this show and ari makes sure to promote lesser known comics and give them more notoriety. This guy really poured his heart out on stage. I got a little misty as he was talking about his mom. Thats a real mom. She would be proud of him, I guarantee it.
I respect and admire your courage to divulge things so we can all connect and relate. Bless you and your wonderful soul
I love how HUMAN he is on stage, we all have those dark thoughts but it's never openly spoken about, EVER. Hearing it though, its almost gratifying in a way? We're not crazy, or psychotic.. just one perfectly imperfect human.
My mom died after a brief battle with cancer last year and it wrecked me. I didn't.cry at her funeral but I cried to this video. Please hug your mother and tell her you love her every chance you have.
definitely one of my favorites
An engaging, moving story with some really genuine laughter coming from me. +1!
Wow... Super powerful. I completely relate to the stories about his father. I'm lucky to still have my mother, and I'm grateful to have seen this. I'm gonna call my mother when I wake up tomorrow... It's been a while... Maybe... Maybe you should too...
Much respect, can relate so much to what this man said here, and his upbringing feels so similar to mine, it's eerie. Thanks, Pete.
i am a hospice nurse and this is so beautiful...i hope i can inspire my sons like this xoxo
This was the most amazing TINH I've seen so far, incredibly moving and funny, bravo to this guy
this story gave me both goosebumps and tears
This was one of the best ones.
What a beautiful, truly felt monologue!
Came here for laughs, turned into tears. This was a really beautiful way to remember loved ones and death 💕
Easily one of the best ones I've seen on here.
Holy shit man...you are a legend. This was far and away the greatest comedy story I've ever heard.
This is instant, loving this guy and about to watch more of him, thanks for the upload
This is without a doubt the greatest story ever told on TINH and one of the best ever told in history. Ive never so intensely laughed and cried simultaneously.
This has to be one of the best comedy sets ever written.
Great story, thanks fer sharing it.
Adding him to the list INSTANTLY NOW!!!!!!! WoW
A brilliant stoey with a great message. Funny, well....yeah sometimes. It was a pain filled laughter.
My mom passed away a month and a half ago because of cancer too after 11y of fighting it. I wasn't able to be with her in her last moments because my grandparents didn't want me to see her like that but I wish I could have been with her in her last moments like you did so I could have helped with anything I could
one of my favorite "this is not happening", thank you!
The only one of these that brought me to tears.
Man the way beautiful. Also very funny obviously. But like, I really appreciate that he shared such significant stories this way.
actual tears, man, actual tears.
Great job!
