One of THE best vocal performances. That’s a strong recommendation. Love some Saint Paul

Mans was literally wasting away as a bank teller. One of the best concerts I've been to, he literally started rolling around and wrapped himself up in the carpet.

I saw him roll up into the carpet too at the Rochester Jazz Fest LMAO and get under the drum set all while singing. Def one of the best shows I've seen as well

Grass is Greener! Ah yes. Paul Janeway raised on church music in Alabama. At one time considered being a preacher. Pure...just pure God given talent and soul,

Beyond the vocal talent, an AMAZING live performer. Both times I've seen them, he's left the stage, sang walking through the crowd to perform for the folks in the back while he's hanging over railings or on the edge of sound booth roofs.

Paul Janeway (singer) and the bass player couldn’t get any traction so decided to get some music on tape. Paul used his Pell Grant funds to make the recording and the rest is history

His name is Paul Janeway. Went to see them perform in Ann Arbor and he came out into the lobby just to meet people and tell them he appreciated them for coming....like, he almost expected nobody to show up. He was so sweet and polite. Also, his wife makes his performance shoes. He liked talking about her and his shoes. Paul and this band are the greatest.

Excuse me if I’m not politically correct but when I see black people raving about a white singer I know that singer is great. I knew the singer was great before but it confirms my faith in humanity. It’s not the color it’s the soul. This soul definitely found his soul in his gospel upbringing. He says his family only let him listen to gospel music with a little Otis Redding and Sam Cooke and his mother’s favorites, The Stylistics. Bet you by golly wow this guy is good. Now my problem is why can’t my fellow white music loving friends tell me they love The Broken Bones as much as I do. What is it? Can’t they let loose? Can’t they feel it deep inside? I see the white folk in the crowds digging it but I can’t understand why I don’t hear it from my friends. The Stones had them open for some of their shows and to mind mind St. Paul puts Mick Jagger to shame. I also dig this band more than the Stones but that’s probably just old school me. Thank you for doing this video. I like how you stop and sing along and comment on the voices you hear. There definitely is Al Green in there and there definitely is Otis and I’ll even say he’s set free by some James Brown but as you say there is also something original. Really enjoyed your enthusiasm and take. Looking forward to watching more of your videos. The only white singers who come close to this soul to my mind are Van Morrison and Joe Cocker who both have their roots deep in great black music. This is what we need, more unity in the races. Some of us have it. For some it is harder to come by. Together we find what unites us and in this case it’s just great soulful very talented music.
