    12 years down the road and i now own a pre loved Tiida... Thank you for this video, it helped so much, one thing i did different (if anybody cares)...i used a smaller socket over the threads of the bolts after i took the nuts off, and gave a slight tap, this knocked the housing out easily. Thanks again.

    I used your video as reference for replacing a brake light on my 2008 Versa hatchback. I used a piece of packing tape to catch the bottom nut. Almost thought I couldn't do it because I don't have a socket wrench, but I managed to get it loose with some flat nosed pliers and once it was loose I turned it with my fingers and the tape until it came off. I would have DEFINITELY broken that top clip if I hadn't watched your video first! Thanks for an awesome tutorial!

    It is amazing that a person would take their personal time to make a video to help others. I would have definitely broken the light cover. You saved me time and money with your video. GOD Bless and Thank you !!!!

    Oh. My. God. You have no idea how many times I tried to figure out how to replace my light. One light! I couldn't figure it, to top that off, the "Owner's Manual" is a joke. Thank you very much. I will be doing this later today.

  • @NuwaubnMOOR
    @NuwaubnMOOR Před 11 lety

    Great Demo. I was a lil pissed when I checked my girls owner manual. It said nothing but to take it to a dealer. Why? 6 bucks for a pair of bulbs and the dealership charges 30-50 bucks for labor! Took me only 15 minutes after I watched this video. The people that disliked this video must be mechanics!!!

    Thank you thank you! Don't laugh -I'm being serious- but stuff like this makes me feel better about humanity; there are people willing to take time out of their busy days to make a video, solely to help other people. Thank you so much!!

  • @sadlry
    @sadlry Před 12 lety

    This made changing my brake light easy. The hardest part was getting off the nut closest to the door latch because of it's straight on positioning and the fact that a standard socket wrench has too shallow of a depth to accommodate the bolt end. I was really glad to have had the explanation of the points of attachment and got the actual light housing off and on in a snap.

  • @gdiebel5

    Thanks so much for this video. It really helped me out today when replacing the tail light in my versa. Your video highlighted just the right parts of the process.

  • @pinetreemail
    @pinetreemail Před 11 lety

    After watching the video it made the job a lot easier. The total job took only ten minutes. Removing the lens from the clip was a snap after seeing this video. One suggestion, if you don't have a magnetic wrench or socket you can always use a small pair of needle nose pliers to securely remove the lower bolt. Thank you again.

    I never could have done it without the video. I can't express how wonderful it is that you took the time to make this it to help us who are less mechanical! It only took me about 10 minutes. I needed to use a socket for one of the nuts, after my first attempt with the regular wrench wasn't successful. I was able to get the nuts on and off without dropping them, but thanks for the heads up to be extra careful. Another suggestion is to test that the new light is working before you reassemble.

  • @Nettienoo143
    @Nettienoo143 Před 11 lety +1

    This is fantastic for you to do this. I finally struck up the nerve to buy tools at the hardware store and if it wasn't for the rain I'd probably have this done by now. It was a little difficult to get the nuts off my versa though. I used a 10mm deep socket attachment along with an extender.

    Glad I was able to find this instructions. I swapped a stop light bulb on a 2008 Nissan Versa and what I would like to add is the hand push method to remove the light unit did not work for me, but a simple trick with a nylon rope (you get for free at your hw store) would work much better. The light unit at its tip point is designed with a small groove perhaps to use this method in the shop - just loop the nylon rope around and pull back as you also gently pull out on the trunk side end :-)

    @ashmax28 Před 12 lety

    Thanks a lot buddy for the anchor points, i wouldn't have known. I pushed open the light box just the way you showed and it worked. For other people i would like to inform that you could be using all of your energy to open the box but don't worry this is the way it is made.

    A thousand thanks for this very very helpful video! I didn't have the tools so I took my car to a mechanic and walked him through everything, which made the whole job take less than 5 minutes...he was so impressed that he didn't even charge me! (PS. Mine is a 2012 Versa hatchback and all the instructions here apply just fine, unlike what one commenter claimed.)

    • @zorbathegreek841

      +Zorba Greekthe --- followup: the original brake light that went out was my left...a few months later, the right side brake light went out, and I had it fixed. Another few months later, the right side brake light went out AGAIN, wtf? There must be some sort of electrical issue going on with this damned car.

I was able to get it to slide by putting duct tape to cover the end of my big flat head screw driver an putting into into the gap at pointed end of the left side of the light near the underneath slide. I push the light with the screw driver toward the rear of the car and the light popped out of the slide and I was able to remove the light The service manual I have was not very helpful.
