    Vanessa, I am always looking for little projects that my 10 yr. old granddaughter and I can sew together. I bought her a sewing machine and when I go to visit her in MN I bring along fabric and simple ideas we can do together . I encourage her but don't let her get too frustrated, just let
    Her get excited. I love it when she ask " nana ..can we sew" this is a perfect project for us like pillow cases, fabric boxes and catch all boxes. I just pick up the notions needed and away we go. Thanks

    I love the fabric baskets! I made one a while ago for a Christmas present with a set of four matching fabric coasters tucked inside of it. I didn't think to actually sew the corners down...LOL. I like your way much better! Anyhow, I just noticed your other little basket there with your wonder clips in, and now I have go back and watch that video! I'm pretty sure you did one on that. Thanks for the videos, I enjoy them soooo much! ~Liz~

    I tried an alternative to the foam. Since I have a stack of funky foam sheets from another project I thought I would try them. I was using a block from a quilt I just finished and it was bigger then the sheets. However, I just sewed them together (zigzag) just like I would do with piecing batting. I used the same stitching length as suggested and it worked great. Thank you for your great tutorials. I have you on my youtube speed dial.

      Trayne1837 I’d suggest to look for those flexible plastic cutting mats, they can be washed (just not on hot) hang or air dry.

      I Hope that helps..

    Just watched a video where they stitched out to the edge of the fabric at the opening where you turn outside in. When she turned the fabric the seam turned itself in to make it easier to finish the edge

  • @normacooper6377
    @normacooper6377 Před 2 lety +1

    Some people I’ve seen use two pins at either side of the opening so line marking isn’t necessary.

  • @654Bearcub
    @654Bearcub Před 8 lety

    I really like these and recently saw someone post on a Disney Facebook Fish Extender cruise page and she had use plastic snaps with hers so the corners could allow it to lay flat then come together again, could you also do a video on making a fish extender as well and also how to put in those snaps

  • @stephaniehenderson1373

    Cut your corners at a diagonal and that reduces bulk at those corners. Also, if you take two stitches at the corner diagonally, you will be a perfect point corner every single time.
