- hi guys! welcome to the crochet tutorial of the week :) today i show you how to easily crochet some layering mesh sleeves. you can make them fairly quickly, it took me only a day to make these.
let me know if you guys want a part two where i show you how to make the sleeves flared, like a 70s inspired bell sleeve!
as always, thank you so much for watching! don't forget to like, subscribe, and tag me in any creations that you make using my tutorials - i LOVE seeing your pieces.
i hope you have the most blessed day!! xx
Thank you so much!! This is the easiest way to crochet mesh sleeves I haven’t seen any tutorial easier than this!! You’re so awesome 💗💗
oh my gosh THANK YOU!!!🥹🥹🫶🏼🫶🏼
@@HannahDrapinski Yes girl seriosuly! I am 13 yrs old and I can tell you this is the easiest only crochet tutorial I have ever watched
@@Cuties_Aestheticsoh me too, iam 14, i beginner
@@Vinxxz TWINNN!
THANK YOU!!! this is the easiest most logical tutorial ive seen after watching like 5 other videos lol 🙏🏼
as someone whos made multiple boleros with different patterns i can easily say this is the best one!! not only is it super easy to follow and comprehensible, it makes way more sense than other patterns. love how everything flows seamlessly ☺️❤️
Omg i would definetely want a part 2 with bell sleeves😭❤
will do!!! 🫶🏼🫶🏼
@@HannahDrapinski yayy pleeease do it!!!
If it helps I managed bell sleeves by adding a ch1 between two stitches in every row, if it makes sense
@@activistwitchdoesn’t She do that already?
@@Lemonadelo she does it in the top to expand from the shoulders to the sleeves but doesn't in the sleeves but that same technique works for bell sleeves
Almost finished sleeve 1! This is the best tutorial I’ve come across as someone that prefers a written pattern , so proud of myself for doing this as I give up normally with crocheted clothes that require sewing so thank you so much for this ❤
If you are plus sized or have chubbier arms, make sure to change how many rows you start making in the beginning! Instead of 10 I’m going to do 13 for a nicer fit
Heyy, I'm not sure how to dc, do you have a video that you could recommend?
@@Gilax-ASMR At around 1:20 on this video she starts doing some double crocheting (dc)
yarn over, put hook into next stitch, yarn over again, pull hook through 2 loops, yarn over again, pull hook though the other 2 loops all the way through, and thats a dc (double crochet)!
and this video is very clear and easy to follow for beginners too!
czcams.com/video/a1whu6Gub1M/video.htmlsi=ipRWUJqaKLIKaFeD
hope this helps! :))
@@Gilax-ASMR on my suggestion for the sleeve cuffs if your sleeves are too big, you basically do the same thing she’s doing in the video, but skip the part where you add a chain, and just go straight into the next double crochet stitch, with a double crochet
@sarai5178 thank you so so much, this helped a lot!!♡♡
Thank you! I did 14 rows, and it was perfect. To offset it being bigger at the top of the arms, I started decreasing one stitch starting at round 12 of the sleeve, and every 3rd round after, just to keep the sleeve a little fitted. I might decrease more often than every 3 rounds once it’s closer to the wrist. I just did a regular double crochet decrease like this ❤️ czcams.com/video/pAX9tbxioKo/video.htmlsi=-lMbJMHkxtTjMFLU
You literally do the best crochet tutorials I’ve found on YT, so easy to follow, in depth and clearly explained!! I would love love love a part 2 with bell sleeves, and anymore tutorials in the future ❤️ Thank you for your hard work!
Please do a pt2 with bell sleeves! I love bell sleeves so much and this tutorial was the best I’ve seen for a normal one!
oh my gosh you’re the absolute sweetest!! that means the world to me 🥹🫶🏼 i will do a part two!! 🌞🌿
@@HannahDrapinski Did you ever do the bell sleeve tutorial? I'm making this now and I'd love to see it!
Really cute! That is one of my favorite yarns in green! I made this to show my high school students who I am teaching crochet. Great and stylish beginner project!
i’m literally so obsessed with it, i would love bell sleeves!! can’t wait for part 2
This pattern is awesome! But I definitely had to learn from my sizing mistakes and do some free-styling. I didn't make it wide enough in the beginning to reach past my armpits, so it wouldn't have fit if I started the sleeves. So after I made the base rectangle with the neck hole, I worked a few rows down the side to add width before connecting the sleeve. I added 2 additional normal rows of stitches. From there, I realized it might still not fit well around my shoulders, so I did 3 rows where I added an extra stitch.
Those rows were like this:
Regular DC+chain, DC+chain in the middle of the chain below, DC+chain in the actual stitch. This made 2 stitches where there usually is only one. I then worked across as normal until at the end of the row, where I mirrored the same thing, adding that extra stitch there too.
I did this 3 times before connecting the sleeves. It added a very slight curve to the hemline of the garment at the armpit, giving it some more room for the shoulders and armpit so I can hold my arms normal.
If I followed the pattern word for word, on my body, the shrug would have had to have had more rows and go down further.
Consider this alternative before slip stitching your sleeve if you have a little more meat on your arms but you want the front to hit at the same spot as the pattern
BLESS YOU

Thank you. I love this. Yes make a part 2.
Looks awesome. I made it too but I made the sleeves all together with the front and back, so I made a kind of cross figure❤
Thank you so much it's so easy and so adjustable.

Yesss to bell sleeves!!!!
in the process of making one for myself but i used this pattern to make a sweater for my build a bear too and it turned out precious
I always wanted to try this ....❤
So nice!!!😊❤
Excuse me miss.... I absolutely looooooove your scissors! I need some for my renfaire outfit! Thanks so much for the video! I made it with Caron Lattee cake and a 6.5!
I have a question! If you wanted to add bell sleeves, will you just increase it at a part where yoy want the bell to start? And how do you do that, im still a beginner so im still a little confused on hownto increase while doing a mesh crochet. This tutorial is so easy tho! Thank you so much for it, i really needed it and this was the hest one i could find and its super beginner friendly
Also which yarn did you use for the black and white one? I like how that one looks better it seems like it has a little more slack or relaxed fabric than the green one. And I like blk and white /grey better too.
Thank you i love it and very easy😊.
Yess I definitely need this pattern but with bell sleeves. So magicall!! I wish I can find this color yarn that you're having
the green is Lion’s Brand 🌞🌿
I WAS ONE OF THE FIRST PEOPLE
TO SEE THIS IM SO HAPPY I LITERALLY LOVE YOU

Thank you for this beautiful tutorial. Can't wait to make this for my daughter. Were you able to make a part 2 w/ bell sleeves?
They’re so beautiful 😢
thank you 🥹
Thank you so much for your video ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Love the black, white and gray one that you were wearing. Would you tell me what yarn did you use for that? Thank you so much!!❤
I love your thumbnail! Gorgeous
awww thank you so much!!! 🫶🏼
Love the tutorial! But im just wondering how much yarn did you use for the whole thing? I only have a yarn cake that's 140 grams and i was planning on making it even longer than yours but im scared i will not be able to complete it
if i need to make it longer cus it’s too short on my armpit should i add extra rows on both sides or is just one side okay?
This looks perfect! I'm heading out for a weekend at a cabin with some friends and it's still going to be chilly in the evenings. My question is this, I have a beautiful variegated yarn similar to what you used by I want my color changes to run long ways vs how you did the sleeves of yours, if that makes sense 😊 I wonder if you have any tips on how I might achieve that. I know I could just start with the length of my arms, like finger tip to finger tip and just work on it factoring in the neck opening when the time comes but I'm wondering if you've ever done one like that and if you have any tips. I really want my stripes to go long ways of it's possible 😊
I’m looking forward to trying this. How about bishop sleeves? Pretty please? 💕
Awesome ❤thank you 😊
of course 🥹🫶🏼
Y’all if u want bell sleeves just increase, she’s not gonna make a whole new tutorial for something that u can do in 5 seconds
No, if she wants the support and views she has to show it all
She does mention she would if people wanted it
@@xochitlbkgo check out my bell sleeve tie front sweater tutorial on my channel !! i show you how to do it in that video
Does anyone have tips for washing? I just finished this and i know the yarn says to machine wash, but this is the first peice ive made that I would want to wash, thanks!
Precioso ¡!¡!💛💚💛💚💛
YES BELL SLEEVES PLEEEEEASE
I made this and I love it so much ❤🫶🏻🫶🏻
Part 2!! Part 2!! Bell sleeves please.
hi
i think it will not fit my shoulder so should i increase the number of rows on the back side
will it create a problem if the number of rows will be different on both sides
Hi. Awesome video. Love the project. I was wondering if you made the part 2 in regards to the bell sleeves? If so, could you please. I am not able to find it. Thank you! ❤
if i’ve gotten to the part to make the sleeves but it’s not long enough how to i make the starting part longer? do i have to completely restart?
Love this! Can you make an 70's inspired bell sleeve?
Hi love your pattern but can I ask how many chain you used in the video pattern thank you I have done one with 100 chain but the neck is to big
8:20 to make this easier just count the number of double crochets of the previous row and double that number ❤
Great tutorial! Do you also block your shrugs?
Thank you so much ❤❤
i had to add one more row to the body because it was too tight on the armpits, but aside from that everything else was perfect! thanks for the tutorial.
when you added one more row did you do it on both sides??
so cute but your pattern is wayyyy too small for me- what size are you? i'm a large and had to add a ton of rows to make it fit around my arms. otherwise great pattern
It can also be that for your yarn a bigger hook would have been good! When you notice you need too many rows try upsizing the hook, it really helps with reducing yarn usage and stitches needed ♥️
omg id kill for a bell sleeve tut plsssssssssss
Woo,❤ so nice 👍🙂
Thx this is so easy
Wow! Great video……I don’t know how to crochet and can’t find a knitting video for one of these 😢 and would love to knit one with the bell sleeves as well.
can i make more rows for the side that's on my back so it's a little longer there? And will this also make the armholes a little less tight around the armpits? :)
Just out of curiosity would I be able to use this tutorial but make a full sweater? Instead of stopping could I just continue until I get to my desired length?
Yeah that’s what I’m doing I’m just gonna keep crocheting on more rounds
