Young Lady, you are teaching a 72 year old (70s person) how to crochet bell sleeves. I must do this. If it's nice I'll tag you. Thanks much 💖🌹
how is your progress? Im excited to see!
that's sooo awesome.
heck yeah! ❤
Just finished making this! I also added the scalloped edge all across the back of the top, so instead of cutting and reattaching the yarn i just continued around! And added a row of sc on the end of the sleeves and a scalloped edge on those as well. Such a fun project! I wish I had made the shoulder panels a bit wider, but I will on my next try!
ohhh I'd love to see it!!
Thank you for sharing this, I'm 53 plus size & love this will definitely be trying to make this for myself! I've only done baby blankets, hats and recently made shawls to donate for cancer drive. As it's an illness I've battled myself. I've not made clothes, but want to try this, it's lovely! I love the color you chose it's gorgeous. I know my mom gave me some cotton yarns that are excellent quality I was trying to think of what to make and this is perfect!
i make doll clothes...and picked up some really cool thread that i instantly wanted to make a 70's themed top with, just like this. so thank you for such a simple pattern to follow.
Can we please have a written pattern? Pretty Please.
Here’s a very messy written pattern I made when crocheting this
@@o-oskskthank you so much for this!!!!
@@o-osksk Thank you so much. 😘
@@o-osksk you are an absolute angel for this. Thank you so much
i made a google doc with the written pattern to the best of my ability!
docs.google.com/document/d/1YOM7l-w0Wbuj7vMnVubtEsD8RzBPb_y8_iI3EoOfR-8/edit?usp=sharing
Out of all the sweaters I have made, this is my daughters favorite. The pattern is simple and easily adjustable. We love love love the sleeves. A perfect bell shaped sleeve. You're such a talent! Thank you so much for sharing.
I have never been more in love with a crochet youtubr channel i will be crocheting literally evey4hing in every color
I am 100% doing this. Im so excited. Thanks for your work, you're amazing 🌼
I LOVE this wrap top! I modified it a bit to fit my body better and decided to make long ties to wrap around my waist and tie in the front, and leave it without sleeves as a boho vest for this spring :) thank you for this fun tutorial!!
This is beautiful! I have a fuller figure. Adding a side panel made of the same mesh stitch pattern helped with front panel bust coverage and width for the arm holes. Thank you for figuring out the design😊
oh thats soo smart, will definetly be doing that!
Good idea!
I shouldve done this 😭
hi!! im a brand new crocheter and im just wondering what you mean/how you did? i'm really struggling with arm width rn so any help would be appreciated
@@jacque9929 I’m a very new crocheter too. What I did was make two rectangles where the height is from the bottom of the top to where I want the armhole to start & width is the distance between the front and back of the top when I put it on my body. Then connected the two sides of the rectangle to the front and back side by seaming them together. This creates space for the armhole! Sorry if the explanation is confusing & lemme know if you have any questions!
This is pure perfection.
Omg yes! I was wanting to make a top like this for so long! You have perfect timing, the weather is just turning nice over here ❤
I love the way you explain every step! Thank you so much for this tutorial 🤍🌷
Im making this with one of the skirts and making a tube top. Full outfit coming in. SO EXCITED. THANK YOU!
i found this video like the day it was posted and i can't stop thinking about it, buying a yarn right now
meeeeee
Heyy, did you make this? If yes can you please help me out by the amount of yarn you used?
@@manasir.m4988 if you still dont know: as she shows at 6:30 she (Hannah Drapinski) used about 700 yards of yarn :)
@@manasir.m4988 its in the description, 700 yards of cotton yarn :)
Why are you literally the cutest human I’ve ever seen? I love you and your style and your whole vibe so much. Looking forward to seeing more of your work. ❤
Oooh this is soooo freaking cute! I'm definitely making this in a pretty purple iris color I've had stashed! 🔮💜✨️ thanks so much for this tutorial!
Mine came out sooo beautiful and cute! Thank you for the tutorial 🤍 So easy to understand :)

I love this! Thank you, beautiful! 🌞🌼🌿
oh im SO ready for this!! ive been wanting to get back into crochet after finishing my term exams.. thank u thank u
YAYYY!!! you are SO welcome!!! so excited 🫂💕
using this sleeve tutorial with your earlier mesh shrug pattern, thank you ❤
I absolutely love all of your videos
I love this top so much. And your explanation is perfect. Im so exited to make this top♥♥♥
Woohoo! I'm making this today! Gonna sport it at spring Faire hehehe! Thank you!❤❤❤
Yay!!! More projects to put on my list!
I finished mine a few days ago and I’m absolutely in love! Amazing tutorial ❤️
Great Pattern! Loved making it and wearing it
This is so cute I can't wait to make one!!
Yay now I have a reason to buy more yarn 🥹 this is exactly my style thank you so much!
I started it and then got to the 30 minute mark where you said you made it too small…. Mine is now too small 😭 maybe include that in the beginning before others also make the same mistake along with you 🤣
you should never follow a clothing crochet pattern to a tee, you need to measure yourself multiple times during each step to ensure it fits you, that’s not on her gurl 💀
Will be doing this for a cruise I'm going on in December!! So stoked to make it, and I'll be sure to tag you 😋
So cute! I'd love to wear this with a long wrap skirt
i love watch your tutorials❤
Wow this is absolutely gorgeous. You are so talented!! I've been looking for a bell sleeve top like this and what a score in finding your video!
That's beautiful 😍 pattern thank you 👍🏾
I’m SO excited to make this!!!
currently working on the 3 in 1 sweater u posted a little ago .. this is my next project for sure ❤ . i love ur channel soo much
You’ve quickly become my favorite crochet youtuber💗💗
I love this tutorial as well as the project I made from it I will say that I definitely underestimated my bust size so just make sure you measure as you go so it fits perfectly
im so happy every time I see a new video from you :D I can't wait to watch/make this!!
Ur the best I’ve been looking for a pattern for something like this
I just finished mine for ren fest and it looks awesome tysmmmm
omg it's beautiful
I need to do this!! Tysm for the tutorial 🤍🌷✨
Thank you for the video! I thought it was extremely helpful and inspiring
Yayyyy thank you so much!!
Omg no way. I’ve seen something like this all over Pinterest and TikTok and they’ve never had any information. I’ve always wanted to make it 🥲🥲
so gorgeous hannah!
Really Pretty Design 🤩
Omg your glowing, mama glow ✨🤩
BEAUTIFUL!! I wanna try, but I don't like bell sleeve on me, so i will try without this detail, i think.
Gorgeous, really
I wanna do this in black yarn and have dark red on the outside or have the colors switched. This is so friken cute
i’m in love
Thank U for this fantastic tutorial
Haven’t crocheted in so long! About to attempt this🫶🏻
I love the pattern but a little bit less from shoulder to shoulder didn't work for mine and it ended up too tight. I would recommend to measure from your back shoulder to shoulder and don't make it any shorter.
it also depends on the type of yarn used and how tight or loose your tension is as to how wide to make it, but yes, always measure so that you have a baseline just in case. since i make doll clothes, i am always putting it on the doll as i go because most of my stuff i make is pattern-less.
I LOVE IT! omg im not gonna lie it took me almost nine days to complete, most likely because i had to work full shifts for three days, also i started making it on the day the video came out. BUT OTHERWISE! IT IS A SUPER QUICK PROJECT! and as someone who is still slightly new to crochet, i belive this was a very easy and detailed tutorial 😊 THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THE FREE TUTORIAL QUEEN! I AM NOW A FOLLOWER AND A FAN!
how much yarn did you use?
How much yarn do you use?
Do you have any plans to upload a written pattern for this? It looks phenomenal and I can't wait to make it!
hannah you’ve done it again
I’m so down to make this i love your channel!
I did this in mohair yarn lord it almost killed me, but Lord, it's one of my favorite tops
Me too! Me too! I’m here for all the bell sleeve tops!
❤☮️✌🏼 Do I need an even # of chains to begin?🤔
Loveeee 😍😍😍
Thank you Hannah. I made this but used cotton yarn since its either too hot or too cold in here and nothing in between. Any advice on how to cover up more area of the chest? I'm nearly finished with it so can't just unravel it and start again :(
Getting yarn for this right away
Ive got a bit of a thinner yarn, and no idea how much of it I have, but hopefully it’s enough to make this 😅
I️ just finished mine, I️ made it in a cream color, can’t wait to wear it in the summer!! Thank you so much for making such a cute and easy to follow tutorial
I too am in love with the bell sleeve crop tops 😍 Where did you get your cotton yarn from?
fuck yes i have the perfect yarn for this. Adding to my long crochet wishlist 😂
im currently making mine in teal, yellow, and hot pink to wear over my bikini top, hopefully it fits well !
will try
I’m unsure with the shoulder panels like where am I getting my measurements haha I’m small and not sure what I’m meant to be measuring
Love your crochet can you show how to judge sizes like median sizes when l try it eather to big or to small the bell sleeve cardigan
i always have a fabric tape measure and use myself to judge how much I need to add/remove to make it fit me! yarn does give a little bit of stretch (depending on the type) so make sure to account for that when measuring for a top!
hi this is so beautiful!! How much yarn did you use?? tanksss
Hi Hannah
I made a version of this top using your stitch method I just modified the whole top would it be alright if I wrote a pattern? I didn’t know if this was your original pattern
Hi can i ask what uk size are you so i can compare the measurements to it xxx
hi, this is TOTALLY unrelated but I love your tattoo on your top left shoulder! who is the fabulous artist??
Is the shoulder panel measurements from neck to the end of shoulder or shorter?
what yarn did you use? so cute !!
I’m curious if anyone has tried a bigger hook like 6.5mm
what if i don’t do the double crochet in the same stitch of the starting two chains?
i kept having to take breaks because i kept getting frustrated at my shaky hands😭 but i wanna try and reattempt this and see how much i can improve 😋
how do you weave the sleeves?
i made this in 3 hours!!! i’m def making another!!
stop lying
@@thaneofglamis2937lmaoooo i thought the same thing
How many balls of yarn did you use
any nearer definition on from shoulder to shoulder but a little less? like so that it fits nicely when stretched or do you have any clearer measurement?
for me I went to where my shoulders started instead of entire length of my shoulders. Hope that helps!
@@coralbrandenburg3743 You mean you measured pit to pit, or…? The width of your back? I really don’t wanna start a pattern with such a vague idea of what the measurements should be 😭
@jadeharley8640 when the pit starts for me. going pit to pit, comfortably, like it's not stretching to reach pit to pit. I actually just finished everything but the sleeves and as I beginner I gotta say it looks pretty good!
I hope this is helpful! sorry if not
@@coralbrandenburg3743It's very helpful, thank you so much! Going to start on mine now, good luck with your sleeves!
If anyone made this, about how much yarn did you use?
Hello ❤️ I made my back panel longer… should you suggest to keep the increasing pattern of the video or increase “less” so that the front tie fall in the middle and not over it?
i made mine to how she did in the video and mine crosses over a bit.. you can either make the tie strings longer to that you can wrap it around the backside and tie it, or completely stitch the front two panels ontop of each other and not do the straps at all! if you do this, be sure to leave plenty of room to be able to get it on/off, and if you feel it is too loose, look into elastic thread to add into the bottom! hope this helps!
note to self, 16:16

85 tie

Im done ;( I have no idea why when I chain 36 chains (that was the length if my shoulder) after I made double chrochets this length in my first row become much chorter. I don't get it it is so frustreting. I don't think you have added some chains to your foundation chain at the behining. Can you help me to figure out what I have done wrong?
It depends on the yarn, I always had to chain less because my panel came out so big. You should try to chain little more than your shoulder length (without stretching the chain, you might be stretching it when you put it against your shoulders and so you think you need only 36 but for the right width of the top there should be more) was this the issue?
The measurements in the video are for a small/medium sized top and she did 56 chains for the foundation. If you're using a similar weight yarn and hook size, 36 chains is probably way too short in the first place. 😅
If that's not the issue, are you adding a chain between each DC? If you're skipping that step, it may make the length of your panel shorter.
Can't wait to do this ! How many balls of wool did you use ?
She used 700 yards of cotton yarn!
How much yarn do you need
I don’t know why I’m so stuck on making the rose. I’ve unraveled it tons of times then I started on a new yarn because it felt like a refresher, but I’m putting the double crochet in the same loop before starting a new row but for some reason it’s still going outwards \__/
I can use acrylic yarn right?
how many grams of yarn?
She used 700yds of cotton, so probably like 420 grams ?
Can I know what that size is? (S, M, L or XL?)
i followed her pattern exactly and i’d say its a small/ extra small ! ❤
Beautiful design!!! How much yarn have you used?
Hi, used almost 300g of acrylic, if that can be useful
Would I be able to do this in single crochet if I don’t want the mesh? I’m trying to add this as a top piece to a dress I’m crocheting but i just want the sleeves mesh and not the whole thing
Depends on how much extra work you are willing to do, tbh. If you're confident you can adjust the measurements accordingly, then use SC; you'll have to add more rows than what's in the video and possibly increase differently on the front panels too.
If that sounds difficult, then just DC without the mesh stitch. That way you can follow the pattern without having to change anything significant.
what size hook did you use??
5.25 mm
