It's basically just 4/4 with a faster tempo and 8/8 with a slower tempo. What makes the time signature feel strange in the 8/8 parts is that there's emphasis on the 1st and 4th beat, which makes you wanna count each bar as 3/8 + 5/8.

@@corvaliis My thoughts exactly. But I believe "dropping" him from the label means no future contract. The label must fulfill it's contractual obligation to pay royalties on any work they've already produced. Meaning, he will still get paid for product you buy from that label.
