Bedroom Deep Cleaning List
Decluttering
Start with visible clutter/hot spots
- chairs/benches/couches/bed/top of dresser
Declutter dresser/clothing
- Declutter top of dresser if you didn’t do it on the previous step
- Dust and wipe drawers
- Fold and put away clothes
- I like to add a little dryer sheet in my drawers but I’ve seen people use scent beads in little pouches or those little baking soda pod thing
Declutter top and inside of nightstand
- wipe down inside of drawer and devices in there like kindle/iPad
- Put everything back
Declutter under the bed
- pull everything out and clean/wipe down any containers or drawers
- Declutter stored items under the bed
Cleaning
- Strip bed and throw sheets/pillows in wash
- Wash pet beds and blankets if in your bedroom
- I start cleaning at the ceiling and work my way down to the floor
- Dust cobwebs in corners near or around the ceiling area
- While I’m here I also get any cobwebs in corners running down the wall and/or behind the door
- Dust ceiling fans/vents/high ledges
- I also dust the wall as I work my way down but you can dust all walls in one step especially if you’re dividing these ups into daily tasks
- Dust picture frames, mirrors, light switches and outlets
- Dust/vacuum window frame and blinds (wash or vacuum your drapes if you have them)
- Dust dresser, items on dresser/tv and wipe everything down
- Dust and wipe down nightstands including lamps and anything else you keep on your nightstand (I also vacuum under my nightstand at this point so I don’t have to move furniture later)
- Dust and wipe down bed frame
- I also like to flip my mattress in the spring but didn’t here since I have a new mattress
- When mattress is being flipped vacuum/dust/wipe down inside and behind bed frame/any hard to reach areas
- Dust any other furniture in room and vacuum/clean any seating in your home
- Vacuum/dust base boards
- Wash walls (I use my swiffer with a damp cloth and spray a little all purpose spray on it and mop my walls)
- Wipe baseboards I use a damp cloth with a little bit of soap to clean and then dry with a dry cloth)

Oh my gosh I can’t believe you mopped your walls, I am so stealing this hack from you! I hate cleaning walls because my arms get tired and this is such a smart idea. I’m definitely doing this to clean my walls from now on!🖤🖤🖤
Just in case you need to get to high places, you can always also use painter poles/extension poles with a swiffer cloth on the end to just sweep high sealings or fans. It’s an easy way to get dust off before spring/summer when ceiling fans are used way more often. I’m 5’3” so any ceiling is a high ceiling to me.
Awww, I remember when my Rosie was 17. Your babies remind me so much of her. She was a Chihuahua brought in from hurricane Katrina. I have the same Dyson too! Love it being so light and cordless! 💗 from Texas

I used to binge watch your videos, then I got pregnant with baby number 2 and life got busy. Now he's here and 3 weeks old, and I constantly have your videos playing in the background since I'm home 95% of the time in the breastfeed/change/sleep cycle lol. Your videos are so diverse and interesting and even the ones I've seen before are nice to have on while I'm feeding him or cleaning/cooking while he sleeps. We just lost our 18 year old miniature Dachshund. So, I felt the cleaning up their area to make it clean and comfy as quick as possible... plus he also had to have all the blankets. But, now... I would gladly put in all that effort and more to have him again. 🖤 It was nice to see someone else doing it for their fur babies... 🖤🖤🖤 I probably look insane for tearing up at a video about cleaning... 😅
On a brighter note, I love he pottery barn Harry Potter lamps! I also love the skull throw (I also have one). They had one with bats this year just like it and I can't find it anywhere! Also, thanks for the tips! I may also try to mop my walls...😬🖤

Holy smokes, that mop idea.............YOU SAVED ME. My apartment walls are so yellowed and nasty from previous owners. I need to try this. O.O THANK YOU. I don't know why I didn't think of it sooner. I use that type of mop on my floor after all. To remove the taint of my kitties "presents" and paws.

I love collecting band t-shirts! I have around 80 total that I've collected for about 15 years. I don't have anything super old/vintage but if I find something I like, I get it. It's so hard to pick a favorite but if I had to pick, it would probably be my Symphony X The Odyssey shirt. Amazing album! The Odyssey is one of my favorite songs of all time.

i used to be a band tee collector til i got robbed while moving years back, would love to be again but my favorite was The Cramps and im more mismatched when it comes to loungewear.....thats a great idea with old towels for rags, heck ive done it with old shirts as well, or even just old shirts that im getting rid of.......that duvet cover is everything!!! and Bailey and Neens in their little bed and nook were sooo precious!!!!
The dollar tree has the best reusable microfiber mop heads! You can buy one handle and then but multiple heads. They have broom, microfiber mop heads, etc. It changed the game for me. All you have to do is through the heads in the wash and boom. Just wanted to share.

Hi Jade! I recently binged a bunch of your closet clean-out videos and was FINALLY inspired to clean out my "depression" room... i've really let it go (truthfully, my whole family has let our entire house go) and watching your videos inspired me to declutter my clothes/shoes and clean my room. So far I've gotten together SEVEN of those gigantic kohl's bags full of clothes and shoes for donation, separated seasonal stuff for storage for the first time in my life since I usually just keep everything together, and I bought new storage bins and organization systems and set them up in a way that makes a lot more sense for me. I'm going to tackle some of the rest of if this weekend, including all of the tchotchkes I have a really hard time organizing, and an even harder time letting go of. OCD and hoarding are issues to varying degrees in my family and if I don't keep it in check, I run into problems. Thank you for these videos, and please keep them coming!

Gotta admit I bought a cordless Dyson because of you. It was a second-hand older model but it still works better than the vacuum I was using previously that somehow wouldn't suck up anything.
I do the same thing with my t shirts. I use the Kon Mari method for them but not for other clothes. I collect vintage and concert metal t shirts. My fave is a GnR t shirt with the original band on it that I got in 1988. It still fits me. 🙂

I do the same loose folding method as you, I agree, I get a boost of serotonin from seeing my clothes all lined up and looking tidy like that! My favorite band tee is probably Motley Crue…I’ve seen them 4 times, lol. Second place is Blondie. I wear my band tees or other character tees to bed, I like the comfy and unrestricted feeling. I’m working on the spring cleaning at my house this week….while my kiddo is off at dads and I’m not tripping over them. I’m also procrastinating by watching this! Thanks for the motivation!

Hey ghoul, hey!! I just wanted to mention something I found out a few years ago when I bought my metal nightstands I have still. If you don’t mind doing a quick 5 minute “sealer”, you can always use a coat or 2 of clear spray paint made for metal surfaces on just the top of the nightstands and it will prevent that water damage. I got my nightstands at Target on clearance so I didn’t mind doing it since they weren’t suuuupppper expensive and they still look like the great matte black stands I bought in 2018.

We talk about buying land one day and having our own little chihuahua sanctuary since they are left in shelters so often. They are truly unique and misunderstood little sweethearts!

I love my dyson but what about a dyson/roomba combo 😌 that is my favourite combo. I just turn my roomba on when I go to work and everything is vacuumed when I get home. I do use my dyson for the spots my roomba can’t reach.

I don't use fabric wrinkle spray anymore. I just add Downey and water to a spray bottle that's exactly like the spray. It works.

For your nightstand surface have you considered having pain of glass cut to the size of the top of the nightstand to protect your metallic paint? You can have it done to order and have the sides* rounded and made safe. It would mean you could put hot drinks/scents on them without worrying.
