Very informative. Enjoyed the video. Great to hear ccv is happy! Good bye matt and thanks and good luck. I'd be shocked at 5million for mikey if I'm honest. Onwards and upwards. Exciting weeks ahead. I'm convinced Celtic will heavily invest in the team this time round. Keep up the good work David. Hail Hail

When i first saw the 3 or 4 stories regards CCV I was a bit concerned but when I read them all of them were pretty 100% that he is staying and a couple quoted someone close to him.
I will believe it when i see it with regards the Mikey J fee (WBA are keen to make it permanent and given we have the current 4 wide players plus Yang and Tilio we can afford to lose Mikey J) but there are indications WBA happy to pay £ 8-10 million which seems ridiculous.
I think they'll invest better in summer mostly because Rodgers has his own mate as head of recruitment/scouting and so at least these will be players Rodgers wanted and feels fitted his system. I have the feeling Lawwell was more suited to Angeball than Rodgersball.
My feeling is that we'll look for day 1 starters from abroad who've had a few years top level experience maybe aged around 22 to 25 plus any players to further develop being young Scottish players like Lennon Miller Connor Barron David Watson Aiden McGinlay etc.
If Tilio gets fit I think he will be very good as he has so much pace and good control but he has had 2 or 3 more injuries while on loan back in Australia and so hardly played there but was brilliant in a couple games and is very much part of the Aussie Olympics squad for Paris if fit.
I still think Lagerbielke Nawrocki Holm Yang will turn out well if Rodgers gives them game time and they're willing to wait their turn but I think Nawrocki and Lagerbielke will be out the door as their face doesn't fit with Rodgers for some reason. I am yet to be convinced Jake Clarke-Salter is better than either of them but we'll see if Rodgers follows through the current interest.
If Cakir did come we will be getting a great goalie but there is a risk he may struggle fitting in to Scottish life moving from Turkey.
Exciting times and all being well by Sunday evening we'll have league champions in SP and SWPL.

I hope he stays too and totally agree we need to wait for confirmation. It also is being suggested that Rodgers, McGregor and the other players and the board are all strongly encouraging him to stay for the new ECL. Rodgers has said a few times they don't need to sell anyone and don't intend selling anyone and so reading between the lines O'Riley controls his own destiny and if he wants to go he'll go and there are plenty of buyers lining up in the 25-30 million region in EPL and the big European leagues but if O'Riley wants to stay the board isn't going to sell him to cash in on the massive profit we would get compared to what we bought him for.
i really hope he decides to give the new ECL format a go as with a fully fit squad and 4 home games with our incredible support there is a chance of getting to knock out stage for the 1st time in ages.

I totally agree about Mikey J and as I said in the video I think it is time for the club and him to move on. West Brom seem keen on him whether they go up or not but obviously if they do go up they'll have more to spend and as I said there was mention of 8-10 million but I cannot see that really happening and so a few million would be great.
WBA are level 0-0 with Southampton for leg 2 away and were quite a long way behind Southampton who came 4th in league and it looks likelier it will be Leeds and Southampton in the EPL play off final. That would mean Norwich don't go up and so might free up Idah to come to us and potentially Gunn the goalie who several people have linked with us as his contract ends in June 2025 and so in the year clubs sell players before they lose them for nothing on a freedom of contract.

i totally agree, they are at home and were 12 points better in 4th place than WBA in 5th and do look like they have a stronger squad and more experience. Plus Southampton have won 2 and drawn 1 of the last 3 head to head games with WBA
Either way I think WBA will still want Mikey J next season assuming Rodgers lets him go which makes sense as we have our 4 current wide players plus Tilio and Yang (both these may go off on loan for 6 or 12 months to get them 1st team games)

I hear your opinion and you may well be correct and only time will tell if he stays or goes. The way he is speaking in interviews reminds me quite a bit of this time last year when Ange wasn't really talking about the future or next season at Celtic and didn't respond to any questions about leaving etc.
As i mentioned in video he is on radar it is thought for at least 2 out the 3 of Aston Villa, Spurs and Newcastle in EPL as well as Inter Milan, Atletico Madrid and Girona and with all those will have European football in 2024/25 and with most of those will be in the new ECL. There may well be a few other ECL clubs in for him in the big 4 leagues.
Admittedly at Celtic he would be a definite starter in every ECL game for us but he may well prefer to move on to a big 4 league club as a regular sub and frequent starter for the bigger salary and higher prestige to boost his club and international career
I would love him to stay to keep the midfield 3 together with McGregor and Hatate and have continuity and quality for ECL and in Scottish competitions. If he does go then we'll need an experienced player or 2 to replace him backed up by Iwata and Holm and Kelly and maybe Paolo Bernardo if Benfica negotiations go well.
Thanks however for your thoughts and I expect if O'Riley does go that it will go through at start of the window or early on after Denmark get knocked out the Euro nations.

Thanks for sharing that Patrick McLaughlin user-cc9jj7tu5y
A lot of independent impartial football scouts and rating agencies have him as a top keeper. He meets all the criteria being an experienced international with many years as number 1 choice in his club with leadership ability having been their captain recently as well as being a great shot stopper and a big presence in the box. He has ability to distribute well and be sweeper keeper. My only fear is he may find it difficult settling in Scotland culturally (Barkas really struggled although was partly also due to COVID rules limiting his time with his family in Greece and limited social mixing with teammates) but given his 28 he is likely to do better than players like Yang, Oh Holm and Tilio who were around 20 when we bought them
I for one would think he’d do very well with us and ticks pretty much every box in a goalie checklist/wishlist

thanks dodongo @nicneam for that info
For injury history I tend to use transfermarkt.co.uk
as they log and track current and past injury history
      22/23 Hamstring injury Aug 5, 2022 to Aug 31, 2022 26 days
      19/20 Calf injury Jul 9, 2020 to Dec 9, 2020 153 days
      19/20 Shoulder injury Dec 8, 2019 to Jan 10, 2020 33 days
      18/19 Knee injury Mar 3, 2019 to Apr 1, 2019 29 days
      18/19 Foot injury Nov 12, 2018 to Dec 14, 2018 32 days
      18/19 Foot injury Nov 4, 2018 Nov 9, 2018 5 days
so he certainly had quite a few injuries off and on 2018/19/20 with 1 long spell out and a short injury 21 months ago and none since unless the website is wrong
However I am yet to be convinced he is a 7 million player which is more than CCV cost a couple years ago and he has had 1 quality season basically with QPR who were struggling against relegation
thanks for the opinion and thoughts and at this time i would agree JCS not for me as a Celtic target

As I say in the video at the time I recorded it there was a person close to CCV (a friend who is also a journalist) who said he wasn’t leaving and that is what I said in video. However there were some enquiries in winter window which Celtic rebuffed but I would not be surprised if some lower half EPL clubs ask again in summer and maybe he’d be keen on move back to EPL and did say in past he’d like a move to England in future at some point but isn’t agitating for a move and the Turkey story looked totally bogus.

      i agree @Evan-Sean.Osborne.67
I am happy with Scales as a substitute and occasional starter and he does give us cover as a sub for left back, centre back and can play defensive midfield and even left midfield as he played in all 4 roles for Aberdeen on loan and did well there.
JCS has been a bit non-committal about leaving QPR and I am not sure he is good enough to merit 7 million which is a million more than CCV cost us. However for the ECL we do need a fully fit CCV and someone beside him with pace and height and positional sense who can partner CCV. I like Lagerbielke and Nawrocki from the brief spells they got but Rodgers doesn't seem willing to give either a chance and puts Scales and Welsh ahead of them usually (and had Nat Phillips ahead of them both during that awful loan period)
