I don't think it was until this year I really started to appreciate my Hoya 'Viola'. And just so everyone knows, I will say it again: Miro always loved Hoya sigillatis.
Wait til you get Viola mini leaves. 🥺

Humidity aside, cacti are just a bad idea in any room where one may end up naked, ie the bathroom. Possibly the bedroom too. Just... don't have cacti.
It's such an impractical houseplant.
Have missed your content! You post so infrequently these days. Was wonderful to see a new upload. The video is never "long enough". I was never a hoya person, but because of you, I now have about a dozen small starter plants and/or cuttings in my collection. Hugs!
Hoya Polyneura Outer Variegated is a beautiful fast grower. I received a 2 leaf top cutting on August 23rd. So 2 months. It now has 4 more sets of leaves and has started 2 new growth points. Amazing.
Hoyafixation is my favorite place to shop hoyas since I live in Finland! She has amazing selection, such a good prices and every cutting I’ve had has been in perfect condition. I love it that you talked about her in this video, she and her shop deserves all the love! ❤

After 3 years, you start to learn more about it and take better care. *staring at my 10yo carnosa that has 16ft/5m long tendrils and has never flowered* I'm going to look into that fertilizer b/c mine gets excellent light and decent humidity, just came inside from the porch in the SE US, where it lives 6-7mo of the year.

Uh oh I just subscribed to this channel and it's a year old. My Hoyas are very slow, never flowered yet, but my Wayetii grows AWAY from the window direction, which is unique. Betty's so right about grow lights, they just actually grow normally which is great after years of hardly nothing happening. I am actually propogating them now - what a shock 🌿

will you do a video about transitioning a hoya from soil to pon? i try to completely clean off the roots but some of them still have a hard time. i see that you don’t completely clean off the roots and your plants are thriving!

The bathroom question is funny because I never put plants in the bathroom, but one year I kept a large green pothos in water in the darkest corner of my bathroom that had no windows for over a year! It never grew, it never died, never lost a leaf. I kept promising to move it but I never did. After a year, my husband and I looked at the plant baffled. We didn't even change the water which is gross but the water was crystal clear. I still can't explain it.
Regarding blooming/ the age of the hoya- unless you grew it from a seed, no one really knows how old their plant is. I have a few Hoya that I was shocked to see bloom- burtoniae bloomed a few weeks ago, and I’ve had him for two month. He’s only got maybe 8 pairs of leaves. My polyneura is growing a peduncle and I am blown away because he only just finished his third pair of leaves! Such a baby. I figured these cuttings must just come from a mature plant, but I’m fairly new to Hoya. I am so covetous of your polyneura albomarginata. I want one badly but they are soooo expensive.

I love growing plants in my bathroom. In such a small room I have bright, medium and medium-low light with high humidity. I grow Hoya, orchids, African violets, ferns, begonias, maranta, “calathea” (can’t spell the new name 😅) and more
I always thought the "maturing" thing was about plants you started from seeds not from cuttings. There it made some sense to me, because a lot of plant cannot flower in there first months / years after germination.

Can you share the three places you buy your DIY PON ingredients? Hopefully it is available in the USA. Thank you so much! I noticed Mira is going back to a mix. There are a few that I think I may plant in it. Have you tried a little limestone in the LYI mix? It is my most favorite hoya. The LYI prism. Stop my beating heart I love that little plant!!!

I saw your rhinoplasty videos and just stopping by to say that your nose look amazing!! I can totally tell a difference between the 2 month, 6 month, and now. Which is motivating as I'm on month three of post-op rhinoplasty and love my nose so far but I had to schedule an appointment with my doc because since yesterday I started to notice a small indentation forming on the side, so I'm getting all depressed about it thinking it's going to collapse or something.
I would love to here more about the Czech origins of Hoya Miral! I am having a hard time finding more info but am very interested!
Re: Hoya carnosa compacta. I decided to repot my Hoyas after about 10 years. They've been in hanging pots since then and soil was drying out too quickly. They've been blooming and vines have become overgrown..10 - 15 feet long! And the branches at the base are so spindly I'm surprised the plant is still alive! I've repotted them and have wrapped the vines around the hanger but don't think that's the best solution as a lot of the vines are being covered. What do you suggest?

So I checked out Orchid Focus Bloom and Grow. I don’t see a choice with both bloom and grow. One bottle says Orchid Focus bloom and one bottle says Orchid Focus Grow. Which one should I get to fertilize my Hoyas? Again what are pons? Thanks!
Remember that the Lechuza pon already has fertilizer in it! 😉
Yes but I reuse it and boil it as I said in my video.
I absolutely love your videos!! I'm curious about leaving some peat/organic matter on the roots when transferring to pon. I'm always afraid to hurt the roots if I try to get it all off. Also, Miro suggested an orchid fertilizer (in the US) called MSU 13-3-15. Do you agree? I'm new to hoyas, but completely obsessed!!
A bit of organic matter on the roots shouldn't matter much. I try to get as much off as possible. As for the fertilizer, yes. It works very well.
I always thought it was necessary to remove all the organic mix to plant in pon, but you don't seem to do it.
Don't the roots rot?
I remove as much as possible without causing damage to the roots. I even rinse them under the faucet sometimes but not every bit can be cleared off. I haven't had any issues with that at all.

This absolutely doesn't usually happen, like, EVER..... BUT!! For some unknown reason.... outer variegated hoya polyneura is quite common & inexpensive in New Zealand, but not in other countries yet from what I've seen? Very strange but kinda cool, us kiwis are normally quite behind the rest of the world in a lot of things lol 😆 It's definitely the most beautiful of all the polyneuras 🥰
Hoya polyneura outer variegated was originally cultivated by a famous gardener in New Zealand, unfortunately I can't recall his name at the moment but he is well known there.
@@betsybegonia that is very interesting I didn't know that! I've just looked it up & his name was Eion Scarrow, he was a botanist & author. No one here seems to know exact details about it's origins & when he first produced it from seed. Apparently he named it h. Polyneura 'Wishbone'. Maybe somebody should do a youtube video unpacking this?! 🤷♀️😄

What happened to Standard UPS shipping to germany? Its now 30 Euros ? In july it was 9 Euros
The UPS API plugin was not giving correct prices. In July/August I was paying the remaining shipping charges out of pocket because of it.
My hoya kerri is covered in paduncles but they never bloom
It probably needs more light and good fertilizer.
How do you get your cuttings to grow,? I got a Hoya fungii for about 6 months and it has not grown a bit.🤔
