I've always been amazed at how eloquent and articulate the current laureate always seemed. At least up until Ada Limon. How did she get appointed for a second time?!?!
Lost on a path of destruction
With endless thoughts and discussions speaking in silence
I am enraged with violence
To show my defiance
While remaining compliant
Hoping for triumph
The chain has never been broken.
Battered and bruised without a snooze
as if it was destiny for me to lose
It wasn’t my choice to choose
Out of many one we derive from a wider clan feared by the tyrants
Who invented social distractions and use monetary satisfaction to manipulate our actions.
