The first thing jeff needs to do is tell mitch and MJ to stay away from him as he doesn't need their advise.

Kip bam wasn’t a horrible gm. Yes he’s had his problems but he drafted Kobe, and traded for pau, and tried to trade for Chris Paul.

@crazycorn5643 Jerry west drafted/traded for Kobe. Jerry also traded for Shaq for whe he left after 99, he set Mitch up to succeed. Also, mitch only got Pau cause Pau wanted to go there to play with kobe. Mitch best thing was drafting Andrew Bynum. If Jerry wasn't there, Kobe's people would have asked to go somewhere else.

@@Hooderaw Jerry west did play a part. But kupchak was with the lakers from 86-2017. That’s like almost 30 years. Kupchak isn’t dumb. Mj just never set up kupchak to succeed like Jerry west and that’s why kupchak was doomed in charlotte. The new ownership did bring in a better guy for this young hornets team though

@crazycorn5643 stop it fam. Jerry ran the organization and set them up for championships but getting them championship pieces before he left with Shaq, Kobe and phil jackson. Once Shaq left, they struggled until they got Pau and Andrew and some of the 'others' like artest and Horry who only wanted to play with them because of kobe. Lakers became a preferred spot to play because of the foundation that Jerry west help build. Mitch was just there to reap the benefits. When he came to the hornets, he stunk to high heaven. Players performed less than expected as we see the majority of players who left have played significantly better. The coach he fired had to be rehired cause no one wanted to coach this team under that front office. You can't get a quality coach if he has no say so on player draft and trades. Not to mention the fact that you could not bring in your assistants to establish your team culture. Having mitch still around even as an advisor tells me Jeff is not 100% in charge of that team and personnel. Keeping Steve Clifford around just confirms the madness

I also find it kinda funny they avoided saying much about injuries, like he brought up Currys ankle injury but the big issue this season was Melo/Williams injury and lack of depth. You notice how bad we were when Melo went down cause we had no PG depth and immediately looked better with Mann/Micic as serviceable PG's...Melo needs to be wearing ankle braces going forward if he doesn't then we may as well trade him cause he just gonna be a hayward street clothes 2.0...Not really sure what's going on w Williams but we definitely need more depth at center if his injury is worse than they telling us.

Coach Clifford is part of the problem. If anyone has a problem with insomnia then listen to Clifford speak and your sleeping issues will disappear. Even pro players need some motivation other than a paycheck.

That is the first situation this new Chief of Operations needs to address in head coaching. They need a new young upcoming coach that can bring new energy to the team.
