Very stupid take
Trae young hate is real bruh, he already played in multiple playoffs and a conference finals. That is more than let say DAMIAN LILLARD or CHRIS PAUL. I was expecting chris paul to be in this video, but I guess u r tripping this time. Bad take
Kemba Walker wasted his entire career in Charlotte under Michael Jordan.
That's always facts ! Michael Jordan led them in the playoffs in 2014-16
I love to see sum Kemba walker respect in the comments, homie deserved a good franchise in his prime, yet he still took his team to the playoffs pretty much by himself
as a charlotte hornets fan from nc this is true and 2019 kemba was his best season and when he left in 2020 i was happy I wanted him to play with a better team
Kemba feels especially under appreciated since the knee problems started happening as soon as he left Charlotte.
He probably would have ranked with Lillard if Charlotte was ever able to give him a teammate better than Al Jefferson.
@@johndebono1870 ya he in the euro league now
Man Trae Young only been in the league for 6 seasons and you’re telling me his career is wasted? If you’re gonna do Trae like that why not put Lamelo Ball in here too while you’re at it 😂😂
😂😂😂😂😂
Yeah when I heard the disrespect on tmac I knew this dude take was gone be wild
@@ayoitsmook8910 Tmac hate is warranted bro didn’t make it past the first round
I mean Trae is dogshit are you kidding me
13:03 "because of his lack of size, he has trouble finishing" LOL
Perverted minds
4:03 However, he has "a very nice looking stroke"

😂😂😂😂😂
This really hurt to see these player's career getting wasted.
Unfortunately some stars just dont get on a championship level team
Trae Young has 2 playoff series wins in his 5 years.
Damian Lillard has 4 playoff series wins in 11 years.
Yet many people do not view Lillard as wasted or a fake star, but everyone loves to rip on Trae already.
They are on the same boat imo. As the number 1 option they get the team into playoffs as a lower seed, can get the team past 1st round from time to time But that is all you can ask from them. And their playstyle does not fit well with being a number 2 option so it will be hard for them to be a part of long playoff runs.
Agreed and majority of the time when dame was in playoffs he was a choker, chucking up dumb shots and playmaking presence wasn’t even there. I don’t think people call him wasted cause of his HOU and OKC wins.. both Ws were off clutch shots from dame
Trae is actually overrated and inefficient though. He’s also the 2nd best player on the Hawks now to Murray, and he should be traded expeditiously 🤷♀️
If anything Lillard's career in Portland will likely mirror Trae's in Atlanta unless changes are made. Questions can be asked about either franchises' commitment to playoff success. Portland seemed to be content treading water as a playoff team despite hitting a ceiling with the pieces they had around Lillard.
@@justineebourgeois3420Murray better than trae? Hilarious
Zach LaVine despite his flashy dunks is a really passive player he don’t have that hunger to win he don’t got that dawg in him
Can i pet that dawwwg
@@B1gA1 oh my skibidi toilet 😱😱😱

And how would you know that💀
Him and Vince Carter are like that
I remember Zach Lavine facial expression when he heard he's getting drafted by the Wolves in 14 lmao
Al Jefferson..ppl forget how good in the paint he was
Facts
Yeah he was a very good player but I wouldn't call him a wasted career. He was never good enough to lead a team
great scorer (one of the best pump fakes of all time) and rebounder but unfortunately not much else..
Al has a lot of PO seasons
Honourable Mentions : Kevin Garnett's Wasted Prime in Minnesota.
Charles Barkley in Philiy .
Oscar Robertson in Royals .
Carmelo Anthony In Knicks .
Kemba Walker In Charlotte .
Gilbert Arenas In Washington .
Chris Paul In New Orleans / Clippers .
Blake Griffin In Clippers .
you could even argue smaller stints like blake with the pistons, i.t celtics, and gilberts wizards
Nah IT was almost MVP and they were a playoff team. You could say he wasted his career playing through injury :/ rest I agree with
There are always so many underrated players that it makes sense to make a list of them , but we can't forget them having an impact on bad teams.
Blame for the Celtic's Medical staff , injecting Painkillers on his Hips.
Kemba Walker in Charlotte for sure must have place in this. Unfortunatelly.
Lots of bad contracts and overpaid players mean lots of dumb nba executives out there .
This is exactly what handcuffed the Timberwolves when they gave KG the huge ass contract
@@richborn6700 That was David Stern and the NBA shitting on the Wolves. They redid the CBA to pretty much screw the Wolves until KG's contract was up.
U forgot NBA wages are correlated to rise in TV deals. As long as the TV deals keep going up like crazy, their contracts are going to keep rising up. Simple math buddy
Kevin Garnett in Minnesota definitely comes to mind. A top player at that time, KG was the focal point of the T wolves. But with the bad roster construction, KG never really had the chance to shine until he got to Boston.
So his career wasn’t wasted, he was necessary for those Boston teams
Hin getting sports biggest contract of all time did not help either. We overpaid to keep him, but shot our roster in the foot with how much we had to spend. Add in cheap ass ownership and we get the Joe Smith debacle. That cost us a few first round picks. KG did what he could with multiple first round exits but you aren't wrong. Look at 20 years ago when they finally got him good help like Sprewell and Cassell
@@richborn6700they were washed at that point
@@richborn6700 It was the NBA who screwed over the Wolves. Once KG signed his contract and they announced a new CBA with a cap, the Wolves were pretty much screwed. They were constantly over the cap due to KG's contract so the only FA they can add was through the MLE, which surprisingly the owner agreed to every year, so not sure why you think he's cheap. Literally, the CBA was written for the Wolves to climb a mountain while everyone got to hop up a minor hill. All the rules favored every team except us.
kevin love in his prime too
I'd say CP3, but not because he wasn't in the playoffs, but because something about him always made him lose when he was so close.
He was up 2-0 in the Finals...
choker
Embiid is on pace to joining this list in the future. At least he has the accolades to be a HOF for sure already.
Embiid hasn't had a wasted career.
Check his playoffs elimination games. He always ghosts.
He can only blame himself.
@@ColdHoopsFACTS never shows up when it matters😂
@@guapymg2815 I'm not even a Philly or Embiid fan, but I still can't believe they won 2 games at Boston last year, were up 3-2 and still lost the series....

haha you in the west coast?

Same reasons I wondered why most people were questioning his max level contract. The bulls didn’t sincerely build around him and he got comfortable with that
He shouldn’t have gotten a max
Since you briefly mentioned McGrady, I think it is fair to also mention the great Shareef Abdur-Rahim of the Vancouver Grizzlies. His career was so depressing, and he was on such a terrible team that was run by an incompetent front office up in Canada.
Yea and not to mention his unfortunate injuries. Funny enough he almost got to play with his fellow Golden Bear in J-Kidd in the early 2000s in a failed trade. What could have been.
Oh man I forgot about Shareef. Definitely toiled in anonymity on some bad teams. I posted about Mitch Richmond on this thread.
Might be wrong but I’m pretty sure he has a video on him specifically already
Making that much money is a wasted career.
we don't even forget that Damian Lillard , even wasted his whole prime in portland .
He goes on this list here too.
Yea but we should prob wait cause he still has a good chance of winning a ring in his "prime" maybe even 2.
It's unlikely in this season with Doc Rivers .
Lillard made the playoffs a lot though. So not really a waste because it's just too bad for him that he also went up against the Warriors a lot in his playoff runs too.
By any means of it , could we really blame Neil?
@@TBCLINQthis is an ignorant comment Portland was a small market but Neil was still a poor GM, a good gm would have traded CJ after the Pelicans swept them, the backcourt was too small and they already lacked a good defensive wing, Dame did all he could and should realistically be praised for making the playoffs almost every year in Portland
Crazy Zach LaVine has been in the league for this long, I still remember Zach LaVine cheese from nba 2k15
The common denominator is poorly ran teams. This is why more young players should refuse to go to the perennial bad teams and demand trades much quicker. Francis did it, worked great for Kobe, worked great for Bo, Elway, and Eli in football. They do it all of the time in baseball.
Steve Francis is a weird one to use as an example considering his career was about as wasted as LaVine's.
Also, another common denominator is that these guys are terrible and lazy defenders. They stat chase. Maybe give more effort to you know- HELP OUT YOUR TEAM.
@@johndebono1870 Francis got injuried and arguably went to a worse situation in Orlando than he was in Houston at the time of that trade. That being said, I sorta see what you are getting at in that regard.
love your content andy, thank you for inspiring me to start making content. It's been almost 2 years and I am at over 2k subs. You, Kenny, Jakob. all of you really laid the ground work.
Real Bulls fans never wanted Lavine in the first place especially when you consider we traded Jimmy Butler. A guy who has willed those Miami Heat teams to the Finals TWICE insane. Instead we got a dude who acts like a diva and dudes who only play hero ball Lonzo was the only reason that team worked. I’m guessing the Celtics will trade Brown for Lavine.
@ferniesperspective DeRozan and Zo were the real stars in Chicago even Caruso covered for Lavine bad defense.
Nahhhhhh we don’t want Lavine I don’t see them trading a good 2 way wing for a lesser version of the same player
Facts! I still remember that day prior to when we traded Jimmy. I was telling my old boss how I hope we don’t trade him and it would be a big mistake smh
I don't think I've ever been more appalled by a trade proposal in my life. Brown for Lavine would be up there with Brooklyn trading for kg as one of the worst, most franchise killing trades of all time. The Celtics are nowhere near as good in that swap and the bulls still aren't a playoff team
Facts bro we should have kept Jimmy we almost beat first seed Celtics team that year in 2017 bulls management is so dumb it makes my head hurt and the fact that we don’t have 7 footer kills us in the paint
Kemba. I watched him and Al Jefferson carry the hell out of the Hornets. He got a couple playoff appearances, but damn there wasn't enough help to get them too far.
Ngl I was torn on who to root for in that 2016 first round series.
I wanted to see Charlotte advance because I was too young to have seen the Larry Johnson, Mourning team. But at the same time, I'm a D-Wade fan and hoping he'd finally face Bron in a playoffs series.
I was thinking to myself, "There's NO WAY Flash is going out sad in the first round to Charlotte".
But then Purple Shirt Man spoke, and the rest was history 😂
Mitch Richmond deserves a mention. He was on the an mediocre Warriors team early on but in his prime he was on terrible Kings teams. He averaged like 25 points on the kings but they were terrible, then goes to the Wizards and they’re awful and thankfully he won a championship with the Lakers but he so old by then.
Zach Levine being in the NBA for 10 years now kinda blew my mind there for a minute lol
I really think Vince can be in this discussion, dude always underachieved despite good numbers
As I became a Monta Ellis fan in 2014, I'm still pissed Mavs didn't beat Spurs in game 7 😅
Yessir! Andy with the old music, keep it up!
Zach Lavine, the modern day Vince Carter. Super athletic, great dunker and elite shooter lacking the hunger to win. Just like Gilbert Arenas said "He's just nice"
If you look at those checks those careers are not wasted
Facts!! This video is so dumb… like what the fuck does this job allow them to do off the court.. this ring culture is ridiculous…
What about Kemba Walker?
Zach Lavine I remember him from the 2015 and 2016 dunk contest. He had the physical tools and skills but was content just putting up buckets and getting checks.
Every year the hawks are in trade rumors for players like og ananouby and pascal siakam just to trot out Capella and Hunter year after year
it's a damn shame that Cousins wasted his whole career, not just talent. Some period because of injuries and some because of his mentality. Kemba Walker too..damn shame that he threw away his talent in Charlotte.
Cousins should've been traded 2 years before he actually was.
Plus, the refs played a part in his 'career'. I don't understand what their agenda was with him though🤔
I feel like AI’s prime was also wasted. He played like a mvp candidate and the sixers built a crap roster around him with his 2nd best player being dikembe
no one wants to play with allen iverson. back then he was a highlight machine, everyone kids wants to be like AI. cornrow and shooting sleeves but hes a very selfish and lazy player.
he never developed a left hand and play off his talent.
sure 76ers has lots to be blamed but AI himself has tons of flaws as well. but iverson was a iconic. i would say he had more impact (not better) than mj in terms of changing the game
Hawks and Bulls are basically the same team.
Don't really think trae should be on here lol, he's 5 years in and has made a conference finals. I do expect him to be traded but he will be a major piece to a contender sooner rather than later.
Only because Ben Simmons choked
Mitch Richmond was one of the best players of the 90’s but spent them on a bad Sacramento kings team
As a Bulls fan i do feeling bad for Lavine😢 Vooch too i love those 2
This is an older example but Mitch Richmond very much had a wasted career. He put up some great numbers on average Warriors and bad Kings teams in the late 80s and throughout the 90s.
LeBron’s first Cleveland stint is also an honourable mention.
he's vilified for leaving though
@@vicramkumar9793 doesn't take away the fact that he wasted time on his first stint there.
@@vicramkumar9793 He let them waste 7 years of his Prime before he did though. They were too comfortable having him face Superteam with Mo Williams as his sidekick
Blake Griffin on Clippers and Pistons
Damian Lillard on Blazers
Andre Drummond on Pistons
The intro is exactly why i say Devin Booker is hilariously overrated 😂 dude is legitimately Zach with a good team and yet ppl call him a top 3 SG in the NBA 😂 dude had a better year the year before they got good and he finished nowhere near the MVP race yet they win he puts up the same numbers and plays the same way when they were losing and suddenly hes top 5 in MVP 😂😂 D Book is mid but because he has a nice fade, good aura, went to Kentucky and dated a Jenner hes this superstar player 😂😂😂😂
How yall feel about Trae Young as Mahmoud Abdul-Rauf?
Trae Young’s lack of size leads me to another point: historically, it’s extremely difficulty to build a championship winning team around a point guard than a wing or a big with very few exceptions.
Man needs to bulk up like Steph or Brunson to take contact to be a more complete player.
In his ever so slight defence - ATL team building has been very sub-par in recent years which deffo doesnt help.
The background music is much better and less annoying for this one
10:32 my man got his face whipped 😂
I love your vids but I hate when you pick and choose when "CONTEXT MATTERS". That Boogie take was just unfair and you know it.
He couldn't be a Giannis or a Joel because SAC spent more time trying to replace him than build around him. And that "Playoff run" the Pels went on was not some Cinderella run they stomped in the 2nd round.
Sac was a death sentence when he played they couldn't build nothing arround him
Thanks for putting the old background music
Wasting careers and getting injured shouldn't b on the same conversation that's crazy
you should add segments markers for each player
Andy can we get a video on the g league ignite program getting shut down
Zavine wants to win, he just believes he should be the guy
Trae is unfairly under appreciated .
Yup
Good video!!!
Damien Lillard wasted a lot of time in Portland. His prime years
John Wall too...
Trae definitely needs to play under Pop in San Antonio
Kemba Walker is in this conversation.
I felt bad that he was out of the league and wasted his prime in Jordan's Hornets.
Yeah Boogie was a beast fo sho. As a Blazer fan I have many memories of him singlehandedly destroying us. He definitely had all the tools necessary to be a top 5 NBA player but it just never quite worked out for him unfortunately
Zach always reminded me of Tmac at his best .
Tom Van Arsdale played 12 nba seasons, played 929 NBA games, was a 3x All Star averaging 15.3 PTS 4.2 REB & 2.2 AST in the 60s & 70s… BUT has never appeared in the NBA playoffs.
Omri Casspi, Sebastian Telfair, Eddy Curry, Popeye Jones, Brandon Knight, Otto Moore & Doug Overton played 9+ seasons in the NBA without making a playoff appearance.
Buddy Hield is the longest current player who has never appeared in the NBA playoffs in 8 seasons.. that MIGHT possibly change with the Sixers this year. Lauri Markkanen is right behind him with 7 seasons.
I think the biggest turning point in Cousins career was when Malone got fired early in his second season .... The Kings started off very well that season and then Cousins got viral Meningitis .. the Kings went on a losing streak and Malone got fired.
Malone was the first coach that Cousins respected and seemed to get through to him ... Then George Karl got hired the next season and that set the stage for the fall of Cousins.
You could make a video of a lot of eastern conference players in the 90s
As a bulls fan...😭😭😭...
Beginning of 2022 was sooo promising. I loved when Lonzo & Caruso would share the backcourt on the defensive end...along with javonte green..😢
As a Zo fan, I'm just praying basketball gods can give us 4-5 healthy seasons of him starting from next season 🙏
If we go back in time, there's Mitch Richmond with the Kings.
You mentioned Mcgrady, but I don't count him, since he was on a Rockets team plagued by injuries to him and his co star.
Bradley Beal could've been on this list too, lol.
No bluechew ad this time ? 😂
LaVine is what Mike Finley used to be like before Dirk and Nash carried him into the playoffs. Maybe after his current contract he'll sign a veteran and joins a championship team like the Nuggets or a potential contender like the Sixers.
Damn I forgot about Zach I remember seeing him in high school games seeing how crazy athletic he was among high schooler
Dejounte Murray, Shareef Abdur Rahim, and I guess Joe Johnson needs a shoutout (I always felt like those Hawks team should’ve been better than what they were
Offenses that center so much on one player like that seldom do well because the other players have no real incentive to lift up their games. Part of the reason the Triangle worked so well is because it got other guys beyond the top two involved in the play. Any given night there'd be shots for Armstrong, Buechler, Burrell, Harper, Kerr, Kukoc, Longley, Simpkins, Wennington, etc.. It wasn't all just sit around and watch Michael do his thing (although he did have the ball in his hands a lot). Guys like Lavine and Kemba didn't achieve team success because other guys are thinking "if he misses, I'll get the rebound," rather than "if he passes the ball, I've got a green light."
As a bulls fan, I love how we have multiple players on this list.
Zach lavine would be dangerous for a team that utilizes off ball movement
He's an excellent cutter and a deadly catch-n-shoot player
Zach could've been another Kobe Bryant with his skillset but of course.. Kobe's mental prowes is another level.
I thought Zach would be way better than booker but here we are
Anybody watching the Bulls in 22 and 23 knows that there was strife in the locker room between Lavine and the other players. He wanted to be the man but he needed to change his game and that was a problem for him. His attitude is why he is where he is.
Cousins was such an underachiever. He couldn't control his temper and no one could get through to him. He missed out on so much money because he was a lock room cancer, he never took care of his body or worked enough on his game. Cousins was huge...he had a 7'5'ish wingspan but he never consistently dominated (except for his early years) because of his awful shot selection and so many injuries. He had the worst victim mentality and I'm sure he still blames others for how his career fell apart.
Even though Gordon didn't win dunk contest he the Ring 😂😂😂
As a European fan and long time subscriber, I would really appreciate if you could maybe add in a smaller font the metric measurements alongside imperial in the future. It would be a lot easier to follow the video.
Mate you forgot Damian Lillard
Top 75
Zach Levine's biggest issue is that the Bulls made him "The Guy", when he never was that player. He's a phenomenal athlete and obviously very skilled, but he's not a franchise guy. Not by himself. He puts up good stats, but he's never displayed that next level tenacity that pushes teams higher. He's not a leader. He's just a really solid player. And that's fine, but that's not who you want as "That Guy" on your team. He's had talented teammates around him, but even then, he often gets outshined by them because of the heart they put into their play. Alex Caruso is nowhere Levine in terms of raw skill, but he's a way more popular player because he puts everything on the line and always wants to win. When Derozen came into the team, Levine shrunk back instead of stepping up. Now we've got Coby White breaking out, there's really no more reason for Levine in Chicago. If he hadn't gotten hurt at the last second, he probably would've been gone already. And that's not to completely trash the guy or anything. He's a great player, but he's not at that top level the way the Bulls wanted him to be. Put him on another team with a strong leader to follow, i think he'll do great, and probably end up being a crucial member of a fantastic team. The Bulls ain't that team however, and he doesn't really fit.
As a Bulls fan and somewhat of a LaVine skeptic, I actually think the front office set him up to fail with Jim Boylen , awkward star pieces, and bad draft picks. Caruso and Ball were decent moves, but Lonzo has a lot of knee issues. Also, it doesnt help that Coby has essentially replaces LaVine.
Jason Thompson had so much potential
Lauri Markkanen has not made the playoffs in his 7 season
When you get overpaid and your team suffers a cap hit , it becomes extremely difficult to build around you, especially when you are not a top 10 player, but paid like one
Lavine on GSW or nuggets would go crazy
That thumbnail is wild lol
I clicked on this because I saw Kevin Love, like....how is his career wasted? He was overplayed in Minnesota as a 26-15 player who would never win by himself, he got a chip in Cleveland by accepting a much lesser role, and now he's a reliable vet for whomever he plays for.
I miss Boogie. I was rooting for that guy on the Pels. He was cookin.
I feel so bad for Demarcus Cousins bro… it’s a damn shame he had to go out like that
Trae will always be legendary in my book for the bow out in the garden 😂
some players just don't have the mentality to make the most of their careers until it's too late
So many players just want to do well enough in the reg season to get paid, with no real desire to win a championship. It must be really hard to really care about pushing yourself to the next level if you're getting paid over 200 mil over five years, there's no worry about having to keep pushing, as you've got the bag!
Zach Lavine is unfortunately being coached by Billy Donovan. He needs to take half the blame for these small ball lineups, lack of defense, strange lineups, lack of using bench, lack of adjustments, etc. Tell the entire story about Lavine situation.
Lavine been part of the Twolves and the Bulls 2 organizations with terrible front offices especially during the time he was there
Yeah that trio of KAT Wiggins and LaVine was a second round exit max
If you put any stock into advanced metrics than Lavine's PER fluctuates between All-star and average starter caliber player for his entire career.
Debo and Zach in the same starting line-up is weird. Zach needs to play with a Jokic type of big man.
Good video, Trae shouldn't be here though and I'll tell you why. Dominique Wilkins. Hall of Famer. Super Dunker. Trae with that conference final in 2021 has already gotten farther than DW, equalled DW top points game with 56, and after 6 seasons is already past 10k points. Trae might even make a believer out of Atlanta if he doesnt jump ship this off season. My point is DW is in danger of being replaced as Atlanta's most popular/famous player.
Trae should be an all star but he gets snubbed because hes small and plays in Atlanta. Hes averaged at least 25 pts, 9 assists, and a steal for the last 5 seasons and has only been an all star 3 times. I think if he sticks around past this summer he can become THE Atlanta Hawk the way Dwayne Wade is revered in Miami or Jordan in Chicago.
But ill also say this. If he leaves this summer, you'll then be 1000% right and ill be an argumentative a$$hole but i really feel he's more like Steph Curry than James Harden as shooting guards go.
There is a word for this players, snd that word is overrated.
And all overpaid
Al Jefferson should have an honorable mention he was beast but played on terrible teams.
he played in a era where strong and slower center are being obsolete by new generation ball lead by stephen curry.
jefferson got absolutely destroyed on defensive end of GSW. because he can't switch nor can he show after a screen due to slow foot speed.
Interesting video, Lamelo Ball and Cade Cunningham are also having wasted seasons on their current teams.
