Little secret. if I’m not mistaken, if you pay your phone bill with the Venture X, because it’s a Visa Infinite card, you can get your phone insurance in case it’s damaged or stolen!
i thought thats only with master cards?
I wonder why t-mobile stopped accepting auto-pay from credit cards. 🤔
@@AguynearuVENTURE X is a Mastercard
Only in the US or anywhere?
@@alexbarry8133it’s a visa
I love that you consistently make these updated videos. Things change all the time and it’s great to see a video that gives you everything all at once.
Nice review
I also would include:
AAA Daily advantage - 5% groceries, 3% warehouses (Costco), 3% Drug stores
AAA Travel Advantage - 5% gas, 3% restaurants, 3% drug stores
US Bank Custom Cash - I use it for Utilities and Internet at 5%
That US Bank card is called the cash + not custom cash. Unless they have a different version of the same card. Its great for utilities/phone/internet/streaming.
Wow Daniel, the video quality, the little clean transitions of the credit cards, and of course quality of the video, I’m becoming a fan glad I subscribed!! Thanks 🙏🏾
Just got approved for Chase sapphire preferred last month and got approved for freedom flex yesterday!! Finally completed my chase trifecta!!! Great vid Dan
Always looking forward to the next video! Thank you man
Thanks so much! We’ve got some good videos coming out soon!
Great video you told me a lot about credit thank you!
Those are all great cards, Daniel. I have all three of the cards in the Chase tri-fecta that you mentioned in the video as well as the Capital One SavorOne and the Citi Custom Cash. A few cards that I would have included at best credit cards are the U.S. Bank Altitude Reserve, the U.S. Bank Cash+, and the Wells Fargo Autograph cards. By the way, I like the Penn State mug that you have in the video right beside you! I have a few Penn State mugs myself!
My husband and I have the Savor One. Love the perks!
Wells Fargo Autograph, no annual fee with 3% on Restaurants, Gas, Travel, Streaming, Transit with no Foreign transaction fees is on my list.
I think that’s a very good card as well! The only thing holding it back is the lack of more transfer partners with WF Auto Journey right now. But for a no annual fee card, the Autograph is very good as well. Was very close to making this list for me
Congrats on the wedding, and great list! Only thing I would’ve added is US bank altitude reserve. High annual fee, but by far the best one and done credit card you can get imo
Hey Daniel, I been watching your videos for almost a year now and have been so well informed! I plan to get all these cards except the Citi Premiere, just don’t see the value in it and other Citi branded cards (besides the Custom & Double Cash). Just wanna thank you for the time and information you put into these videos! Also congrats on the wedding!!
Great list Dan. The trick is of course, to find the right mix and blend consistent with your lifestyle to maximize value.
Congrats on the wedding!!! Great video as always!
Thanks so much! The wedding was awesome so very much appreciated!
Pls make a video about the southwest companion pass. There’s an offer rn with the Southwest card for 85k points! Please and thank you 🙏🏼 I love your videos, you explain everything so well!
Would love to see a breakdown of the Chase Points again to see what we can use it them on to max the value. I'm interested in the Hotels in particular, so would love to see how you would plan to use the points for hotel stays and how cost effective it is using the Chase Points vs a regular booking
That backdrop is super clean.
I love how you put Chase cards as honorable mention. They have so much mind share and when youtubers do polls to have viewers rank cards Chase ALWAYS wins. With Wells Fargo, C1, and Citi stepping their CC game up maybe they capture more mind share and Chase has to step their multiplier game up.... 😅 wishful thinking. Thanks for the Vid Daniel and Congrats on the wedding!
His referral bonus tho :(
Good review 👏💯
I use my citi cc just for groceries and my CSP for dining unless CF has there 5% categories. and my active cash or my CFU as my catch all card
New sub here, love the content!!
Nice list. I always hate to see the US Bank Cash+ card off of these lists. Very underrated card imo. You get to CHOOSE the 5% cash back categories. Not to mention one of the few cards that gets 5% back on home utilities!
I usually go for 5% back on home utilities and internet/streaming services.
Hear me out, what if cap1 made the savor 1 or 95 af savor (4x on same catergories minus groceries, which is lowkey really good especially when comparing it to the Amex gold) come with transfer partners kinda how wells made the autograph? Then you can run it with the quicksilver for a decent no af hybrid travel and cash back set up. They’d be competing with wells with their recently launched new card lines. All we need now is for Chase to refresh their cards.
Hey Daniel, you mention Hyatt a lot in your videos in regards to it being a chase travel partner. Can you make a video on some Hyatt hotels you would highly recommend staying at?
I live in socal and these are my recommendations. Grand Hyatt San Diego. Mission pacific at Oceanside, Alia resort at Encinitas, the Shay at Hollywood. These are just some of the places I have stayed at. I also did a trip to Cancun at secrets impression moxche which was beautiful and luxurious
you can also match the savor one with the venture one to use for transfer partners. one of the spark cards too. thats what I'm doing for 0 annual fee and access to transfer partners. granted, the venture one is trash, but 0 AF.
I have one big question for you about the bilt card, can I get the points even if I don’t use it to pay rent?
Congratulations on the wedding!!
Thank you so much!! So glad that I can finally say “my wife” instead of “my fiancée” in my videos now haha
What do you think about the Hiltons Honors American Express Surpass card? Idea behind it was to make it my gas station card . Any input on this?
Daniel do you ever do one on ones with people? I’ve been watching a lot of your videos. My husband and I just completed chapter 13 bankruptcy and I am trying to raise our credit scores as fast as possible. Started with a secured card for me. Should I add him or have him open his own?
How much Trip Cancellation/trip interruption insurance does it come with? BTW-you have lovely blue eyes.
My wife will open her new VX upon return from Argentina in 2 weeks. She made me an AU so I can use it in Eastern Europe in July.
I’d love to see you break down the best business credit cards and the Amax Amazon credit cards!
Only is chase fu was 2%
Bruh the Chase Reserve is highly underrated I love this thing. Makes my yearly trip to Africa such a breeze considering it takes me 2 days to get there
Agreed, I like the CSR as well which is why I switched to it from the CSP earlier this year. I still think that for most people the CSP is slightly more appealing because the annual fee is so much less, but I think everyone should have at least 1 Sapphire card depending on what fits their situation best
@@Daniel_Braun I would get the annual fees waived. Should I still start out with the CSP or jump straight to the CSR?
@@TJa824 if annual fees are waived with active duty military or something like that, then definitely CSR
I'd also add the Redstone visa signature to this list and the Alliant signature visa.
Just wondering what should people with short credit histories do? How long I’m between a new card? If you have a thin file should you add an installment payment to increase mix? I want to add a SSL and a second card but my
History is only 1.5 years. My scores are 704 TransUnion and 761 and 770 adding new trade account is going to ding any age. Will the mix of accounts and higher credit limits gains offset avg length ding? How long would it take to offset?
Litlle tip iif you have the Savor one from capital one and upgrade it to the Venture ( regular one) they will keep the no annual fee..
I'm a bit new to all this. What is the difference between 1% cashback versus 1x points? Does it really depend on the card policy or is one generally better than the other?
Caveat to the Savor One is that the SUB only applies to those with excellent credit.
The quarter categories for the Freedom Flex sometimes stacks. Since the card current has %5 cash back on restaurants for its Q2 category. And the card already has an intrinsic 3% cash back year round. You get 8% back for restaurants in quarter 2 instead.
I have a call federal credit union credit card what are your opinions on that card no annual fee and it has a 12% APR
I spy a Penn State mug 😏🙌🏼
RH Gold, WF Attune
Daniel, if you cold chose one card to pay taxes what could be the card ?
Is there any credit card that partners with southwest to use with travel points ?
Assuming you’ve heard of the Redstone signature visa. It’s good one if you don’t mind putting $5 in a savings account with them.
Say I have the venture X & my partner wants to get the savor 1. Would they be able to transfer their cash back to miles so that we could combine our miles for trips?
No, they are only able to combine cash back to miles if they have a card that earns miles like Brian mentioned at 5:30. On the plus side, if you both have a Capital One card that earns miles, you will be able to transfer capital one miles to one another.
What about the Robinhood Gold 3% cashback on everything credit card?
Do a soft pull credit cards top 10
Navy federal credit union More rewards Amex card pair with the flagship card is king.
I don’t make that much money so what card should I get this is so overwhelming 😅too many options
Are Coscto and Sam's considered groceries and what card should I use for wholesale clubs?
Sadly no they are warehouses so savor one won’t get u that 3/4% back there.
i didn't hear you mention the US Bank Altitude Reserve! it's a great cash back card
That’s another card that I’ve been liking more lately for more people. I’m still biased towards travel cards that have transfer partners because that’s the way that I personally like to earn/redeem rewards, but for some people I think the US banks Altitude Reserve is a good one to mentioned. Thanks for the comment on that one here 👍
I agree. That's my favorite card and I also have Chase and Amex points cards. The digital wallet category is so all encompassing that I have very little spending that only earns 2X.
Wells Fargo is gonna nerf that built card 😭
Bonvoy brilliant card is best stay at marriot like a boss
Does the Bilt card work for mortgages the same way for rent payments?
Not yet. no.
I have a credit score of over 800, make a great salary and applied for citi double cash and custom cash at the same time. Got denied for custom cash. Going to call for a reconsider because I have no clue why I would be denied
Citi is really picky with to many hard pulls on your credit
Am I right, I have my Freedom Unlimited and Sapphire Preferred, and I can transfer my points from Freedom to Preferred????🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔
Yes!
We Are!
I feel I did wrong by going with a Wells Fargo Active Cash smh
Venture X is only good for if you live near 1 of the 3 lounges and travel once per year lol
I’m glad Amex platinum isn’t included. I would say it is probably the single most overrated card. I signed up for the signup bonus and cancelled it. It’s good for that, but not much else. The multipliers are terrible
I have got an offer by mail for 90k bonus points on the Chase Sapphire preferred card. Is it worth it? Further, what happens if i am unable to spend 4k within 3 months? How much points do I get?
Depends if you like annual fee cards and travel. If you’re team Cashback the preferred doesn’t make sense unless you want pan on traveling. If you don’t hit the minimum spend you don’t get the 90k bonus but you do get your regular points
Thoughts on Robinhood Gold card?
Great starting stats but they won’t keep it at that it isn’t possible. lol plus it has that membership fee so it’s really $50 a year.
Why not the WF Active Cash over the Freedom Unlimited?
Although freedom unlimited is 1.5x points, you can get 2 cents per point making it essentially 3x per dollar if spent towards travel/hotels. Also if you have the Sapphire Preferred you get 25% more points
Comment above describes it perfectly. If Wells Fargo adds better transfer partners then that will easily beat out Chase. But Chase’s ability to consistently get better redemption value from transfer partners and even the travel portal makes it the better option for most people. (Transferring points is still better on CSP/CSR compared to travel portal if the value is there)
Capital one doesn’t have us partners so it makes the transfer power weaker in my opinion
Understandable concern. But it’s still very possible to book US award flights with international airlines through their airline alliances. I do it all the time and talked about it in this video: czcams.com/video/uIY268QxEGE/video.htmlsi=dfljBoj5biRXCJzi
Takes a bit of time and research, but very doable
Amex gold??
Woah, no amex gold?! Surprised!
Made my list every other year. But I’m anticipating changes and have had more and more comments about people not liking the card as much anymore with its credits. So with a possible annual fee increase, I’m leaving it off the list this year.
Still can be a great card for people that truly do use the credits every month. But not as useful for a large number of people
@@Daniel_Braun ahh good to know! I sure hope they don’t increase the AF and add Resy credits.. that easily could ruin this card. The current credits work for me because i can easily use the ubereats/grub hub pickup feature to grab dinner here or there. Great video ! 😎
I'm also shocked not to see the Amex Gold. Why wasn't it included?
So I always make an updated version of this video every year and the last few years the Amex gold has made the list.
But throughout the year as I make other videos, I get direct feedback from comments about what cards people like and dislike. I also factor in my own use of cards that I like and use in my own life. Based on all of that, the Amex gold has fallen off the list this year
There’s also very credible rumors about annual fee increases and changes to come. So compared to other cards out there, the gold card is still good - but for less and less people.
@@Daniel_Braun, that’s a very good point. I’ve also heard that as well. Would you recommend getting the freedom Unlimited or the freedom flex first? if you have the Sapphire preferred already. I know I probably did this backwards lol
Honestly doesn’t matter too much the order. Personally id say Freedom Flex because it can be the better earning card. But Freedom Unlimited is gonna be used the most I’d say
it sucks the freedom flex wont work on costco
You can use it online, just not in the store.
😊
First again! 2/2 and 100% first comment rate since I started tracking 🥇
First ?
Very close! Technically second comment haha but you get a silver medal for that 🥈
I’ve seen like 100x videos about the same thing……
You skipped the luxury gold, platinum & black cards. Not sure why you did that 😐
Do you mean the Amex cards, or the brand “Luxury card”?
Trolling right?
@@codymanning1034 yeah, I am curious about how many people actually have them though
@Daniel_Braun the Luxury Cards… they are really the best cards……..
(Of course the first time a creator responds to me it’s when I’m messing about 🤣)
@Faithful_Solaire 😂😂😂 lol then I agree, Luxury cards are great! Haha
First -ish
Third comment but almost first! Bronze medal 🥉 and thanks for watching
❤
Sorry but this is junk.
I live on and use, in order:
Citi Costco card,
Chase United Infinite
And Chase Amazon
I’m getting cash back over $2000 a year and I fly to Europe in either Business or First class with those miles I get from spend and fly.
Nothing else comes close to these value propositions. Nothing.
Damn no AMEX???
Green card is not that great in my opinion. Platinum is way too specific of a card to appeal to a broad amount of people. And the gold card is becoming less and less valuable to people based off the comments I’ve received over the last year (plus the annual fee is likely to increase very soon).
So I think these 3 cards can be good for individual people when they run the numbers, but I couldn’t include any of them on the best credit card list this year based on all of that
I still have the Amex platinum and find value in that myself though. And gold card well wait and see what they do with updating it
