What a stupid decision. Even before Max's resignation was announced, I had already commented here that the future didn't look good for the couple. Unfortunately, I was right. It was clear that the new executive producer didn't like them. He destroyed the couple little by little. I wish Max a lot of success. May he get many more roles and work in a place that appreciates his talent. I also wish Tony all the best. May the show finally use Callum properly and not cut him out of Lexi's life. The writers managed to salvage something with this beautiful last scene. The look on Ben's face during their final conversation was uncharacteriscitally sweet and tender. Loved it.
Beautifully performed by the boys - and that moment of sign language brought back so many memories. And the way Callum briefly cradles Ben’s face in his hand for just a moment as an echo of their very first kiss together back in the park that night all those years ago is another inspired touch. But it still just feels so damn unfair!!
The sign language got me so bad 😭 it's so tough seeing their story end like this, but I commend Tony and Max for giving their best ❤️ I first joined their story about a week after Ben was shot, saw the drunk kiss in the kitchen, Callum's Dad being punched for being homophobic, the morning kisses, that Christmas breakup, the reunion, Keanu, Ben's deafness, first 'I love you...' they have given us so many amazing moments, and thank you for uploading them all! I remember it being literally the longest two and a half weeks of my life when Callum had been kidnapped 😅 It's been a crazy 5 years of Ballum and I'm gonna mess them a whole lot 💔
Their chemistry is off the chart! It’s a shame I don’t get to see them in a long run as I’ve hoped. Max & Tony are incredibly brilliant actors. I still believe this is not the end of Ballum. That bit pissed me off. Callum and Ben both previously learned BSL - why have Callum use made up signs here when we’ve literally seen him sign the same sentence in real BSL before?
@@lexi219I don’t really think accuracy was top of Callum’s agenda. It was more the point that the act of signing I love you was a reminder of how far they’ve come and that Callum has stuck with Ben through him being deaf and so many other things and that they’ve come this far together
@@els666x Tbh it seemed more like lazy writing like the rest of this storyline. “I love you” was the first thing Callum ever signed to Ben. BSL is a literal language that he learned to communicate with his deaf husband for almost a year before Ben got his CI, so his using random gestures is straight up poor writing for the character. Also, CI receivers can’t be worn all the time - they come off when you sleep, in the shower/near water, etc. (like we’ve seen Ben take it off when boxing), so they likely would have used the BSL they learned every now and then even if it weren’t onscreen. Callum wouldn’t have forgotten how to sign “I love you” - even people who learned a sign language when they were kids usually remember basic phrases like that. The sloppy writing took me out of what should have been a beautiful final scene between these two characters/actors.
Callum once again proved how loyal he is to Ben and loves him just the way he is. As sad as it is that Max has left the soap, I believe this is not the end of Ballum. Callum promised to wait for Ben and hopefully they will be together again. Anyway, thank you Zebra for the opportunity to follow this story, which gave us everything: both joy and tears, but most importantly it allowed us to escape from everyday life and brighten our days ❤.
I just want to say how impressive Max Bowden's acting has been since the EastEnders small minded bureaucrats decided to get rid of him, for reasons that have nothing to do with the show or his popularity or his acting. They've destroyed something very, very special. Max must have felt gutted, but he's shown amazing professionalism and his superb acting has never been better. Hope you get snapped quickly, Max. and I'll be right behind, following you wherever you go! (Perhaps Max could get a role on Emmerdale as Aaron's new love interest ... now that would be fascinating?!!)

Im in the U.S, so nobody here knows of EastEnders since we dont have the channel. I started watching back in 2020 when videos of Ben and Callum would pop up on CZcams. Since it was during Covid i had nothing else to do and i was curious. So i watched the journey of Ben and Callum from the first moment they met, to their first kiss, from on again off again, from Keanu kidnapping Callum, to Callum's double agent blackmail he suffered through, to them getting married...I fell in love with these two and everytime i would mention it to people here they would not have a clue what show i would be talking about sadly. I also fell in love with Mick and his storyline with his daughters that I just seemed to forget their names, but now they are gone as well. Ben and Callum were the ONLY reason why I would watch only the clips of these two beautiful boys that fell in love. And now they took that away...I guess ill continue to watch ever so often just for Callum and see how his life will be like after Ben. But this show will not be the same, for me.
I’m in the US too and I started in 2023 actually. I’ve already watched their storyline like 3 or 4 times. I would see EE in my recommended but I kept putting off watching it because I thought nothing could top Aaron and Robert from Emmerdale. I can honestly say this is right up there with them. I have this thing for watching gay storylines in soaps, and Ben and Callum are my 2nd favorite. They were so beautiful together. And it sucks that they get the same ending as Aaron and Robert. I just want you to know that you’re not alone in your grief for this relationship. Even though it is just a tv show, it feels like so much more. It’s nice to share these feelings with someone who understands.

Again I must thank you Zebra for these final moments of Ballum before they choose to either make him get killed in prison (like a certain someone) or a few months/years down the line Ben comes back with a new actor (won't be the same). I was literally sobbing throughout all of these parts, I had to call my boyfriend to tell him how much I love him and tell him how much Ballum played an important part in our relationship, especially when I mustered up the courage to come out right after Callum did to his father. The people that wrote this finale should be ashamed of themselves for getting rid of one of the biggest couples in soaps (winner of best couple i might add), and literally the guy that won best soap actor of the year. But thank YOU the most for providing these clips otherwise most of us would never even consider watching Eastenders. The future is in uncertain, there's a tiny sliver of hope that they might re-hire Max just like how Kathy's actress was gone for a bit and she came back to reprise her role, but most likely we'll get a new Ben, and while I won't be as hype to tune in because Max certainly solidified his role as Ben, I hope people don't start giving the potential new Ben shit for filling in such a huge role. I'm typing this just as the video finished, my eyes are still red and boyfriend is holding me and watching me type this. Even though I had the closeted life, I identify myself more as Ben, always problematic, always thinking I don't deserve the love that's given to me, and of course always cheeky :p. My boyfriend is my Callum, The taller one, naively nice, sees good in other people, accepts all of the flaws I would deliberately throw his way to "prove" to him that I'm no good for him but he chose me anyway, just like how Callum chooses Ben no matter what.

He was out of EastEnders a year when he killed heather so I don’t think he’d get as long prison sentence this time. I'm weeping like a baby right now! The first time I know Ballum was through this channel and obsessed with them ever since. I stil remember rhe comment I left on one of the video you uploaded that they'll stay for good. But here we are, 5 years later, Ben is leaving Walford. I really wish all this just a dream because it feels like I'm loosing something so precious and close to my heart. They're my comfort , literally. I'll miss everything about them (I'm crying again). Well, dang! I haven’t watched the show but after seeing all the scenes between Ben and Callum I was just about to sign up. If the couple, played so well by these two actors, is no more then I’ll spare myself the heartache. 😢
‘Cal don’t’ is really getting me because Ben is like ‘how could you even think that’. Ben adores Callum so much and would always stay loyal to him even if they were broken up
It's heartbroken to me, Callum find out his own husband, Ben is in prison, he's started crying in front of his eyes and they say goodbye to each other for the last time on the show, he's gonna miss him a lot!! 😢
This is sad but it gives me hope. Maybe when they do bring Ben back it will be Max. We will have Ballum back again you never know what the future holds. There is hope.
I am going to miss Ben so much, he was definitely my absolute favorite actor, and of course Callum, they certainly made a fantastic team. Why the hell get rid of such a great actor as Ben (Max) I am sure the rating will drop now... What a huge mistake they have made here, first Lola, then the best 'Ben' they have ever had, is Callum next in line, it wouldn't surprise me one bit....
Well that's it. It was a rollercoaster 5 years - highs, lows, drama, domestic moments - enjoyed it all (well maybe not the breakups). The life of a soap couple is short, it can be tear your hair out frustrating but also lovely. You are at the mercy of writers and producers who may not want to invest anymore or actors who want to move on, so you have to take what you get sometimes. Not to be sour, but I don't trust this show at all, especially under the command of this new executive producer. I'd like to believe that they're endgame and that they're going to let Callum raise Lexi, but I don't have any hope of that happening. Especially because I think there's going to be a recast, so I don't know how that would work because it's something that can't be recreated. And I'm not going to give my audience to this show waiting to see if it's going to happen. But I'm going to hope that they leave Callum raising Lexi and that, even if there is a recast, they keep the couple together.
The Chemistry! Their acting! How could anyone be so stupid as to decide to end it?! What they achieved with Ballum is what many soaps try to achieve. Madness.
Because the actor had been warned by bosses for his behaviour in public in the past and he repeated the cycle. This is what jobs are like. Actors should not get a free pass to behave entitled.
Not to burst anyone's bubble, but this is EE; either they plan to recast, which, even if they do, the chemistry might not be there. Or if they shelf Ben for a good couple of years, Callum is gonna move on with someone else. They'll pull a Robron where Ben in prison wants a divorce or something along those lines.
Bubble? What other choice do they have? I love Max as an actor, but it sounds like he was fired because of his behavior on set. They can’t magically make a grown adult behave professionally, so a recast or keeping Ben away are the only real options here.
Wow... this is a first for me, but I'm nearly tearing up watching this last scene, can't get my head around it at all. My face is just so 😔😔😔🥺🥺 right now, can feel I'm just about to sob my heart out. 😢😢😢😢 I didn't actually feel like this at all at the beginning of the weeks episodes either, but the time has gone so fast indeed and here we are, at the very sad end of the line for Ballum.😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢 I can't stop thinking about this, and now with no EE on a Friday anymore, all EE bosses (writers, producers e.t.c) have well and truly ruined my weekend.😠😣😢😢😢😢😢😢😢 Since they have to let Max go, there were 2 ways I was hoping for this to happen : 1) They should have had a happier storyline with Ballum leaving together, or 2) Since I've read on social media that Max has done something bad outside of EE, risking his job, (not completely sure what though) EE bosses should have just given him a temporary leave to come back again at some point soon. Whatever he's done wrong, I'm sure it can't have been so bad as to give him a perma leave from the show. This is just so unfair, and look what state it's left a lot of us Ballum fans in now.☹☹☹☹😧😧😧 It's obvious I'm not at all happy with the way they have ended this storyline for Ben & Callum, I really wish they'd have let them leave on happier terms, but I guess it just wasn't to be.☹☹☹☹😦😦😦😢😢😢😢😢 I'm just glad they didn't leave them without talking to each other. I have this idea that... if there was some way that viewers could put in ideas on their favourite soap storylines sometimes, the show bosses would read them and select the best ones. But it's only a thought. Anyway... for me personally, besides Ballum, I'm also liking the partnership storyline with Suki & Eve. They've just broken up Ballum, and I'm going to keep watching in hope that they *never* break up Suki and Eve. So here's hoping with fingers crossed. I'm sorry for such a long winded post, but one last thing : I have rarely commented on this channel, not as much others have, but I'm very glad I found it, and to be abe to write my thoughts about it and read how others feel about it too. You don't know that Tony will leave this year. Clenshaw's problem seems to have been with Max (he gave Jessie Wallace a free pass for her drunken antics which included assaulting a policeman - far worse than Max's indiscretions). They might well have other plans for Callum.
I'm not British, so I'm probably missing context or news. I'm really confused why they decided to end things? Did they not like that the couple overshadowed everyone else? I don't know. It's disappointing
I just don't understand what is going on with gay/queer representation on soap operas. To give them this ending is just madness. Is this the go to (Emmerdale/Hollyoaks)???? The prison storyline? Or, on the run? Just poor producing and writing. Finally, there's some sort of respectable gay representation with loving (albeit crazy) partners and a family. And, you give them this exit????? Thanks Zebra5702 for keeping Ballum alive. This is just sad to end their love/characters this way. I know that its a soap. But, there is just so little representation. So, to reduce 'Ben' to a callous thug is just disappointing at best.
Ben will probably back by Christmas with a seventh face because he has never been gone from the show less than a year and they wouldn’t have left Callum and lexi in the show if he weren’t coming back
You know back when Lola was alive dealing with her brain cancer? Ben went to America to seek treatment for her? The genius writers (I mean that sarcastically mind you) shoe horned that Ben stole a credit to fund for that trip, and he was arrested for fraud. It's stupid unrealistic writing because no law enforcement is gonna go overseas to deal with credit fraud of less than 6k USD. Im in the U.S, so nobody here knows of EastEnders since we dont have the channel. I started watching back in 2020 when videos of Ben and Callum would pop up on CZcams. Since it was during Covid i had nothing else to do and i was curious. So i watched the journey of Ben and Callum from the first moment they met, to their first kiss, from on again off again, from Keanu kidnapping Callum, to Callum's double agent blackmail he suffered through, to them getting married...I fell in love with these two and everytime i would mention it to people here they would not have a clue what show i would be talking about sadly. I also fell in love with Mick and his storyline with his daughters that I just seemed to forget their names, but now they are gone as well. Ben and Callum were the ONLY reason why I would watch only the clips of these two beautiful boys that fell in love. And now they took that away...I guess ill continue to watch ever so often just for Callum and see how his life will be like after Ben. But this show will not be the same, for me.
I started in 2022. I feel the same things all you have just said. It has been journey.
I’m in the US too and I started in 2023 actually. I’ve already watched their storyline like 3 or 4 times. I would see EE in my recommended but I kept putting off watching it because I thought nothing could top Aaron and Robert from Emmerdale. I can honestly say this is right up there with them. I have this thing for watching gay storylines in soaps, and Ben and Callum are my 2nd favorite. They were so beautiful together. And it sucks that they get the same ending as Aaron and Robert. I just want you to know that you’re not alone in your grief for this relationship. Even though it is just a tv show, it feels like so much more. It’s nice to share these feelings with someone who understands.

Again I must thank you Zebra for these final moments of Ballum before they choose to either make him get killed in prison (like a certain someone) or a few months/years down the line Ben comes back with a new actor (won't be the same). I was literally sobbing throughout all of these parts, I had to call my boyfriend to tell him how much I love him and tell him how much Ballum played an important part in our relationship, especially when I mustered up the courage to come out right after Callum did to his father. The people that wrote this finale should be ashamed of themselves for getting rid of one of the biggest couples in soaps (winner of best couple i might add), and literally the guy that won best soap actor of the year. But thank YOU the most for providing these clips otherwise most of us would never even consider watching Eastenders. The future is in uncertain, there's a tiny sliver of hope that they might re-hire Max just like how Kathy's actress was gone for a bit and she came back to reprise her role, but most likely we'll get a new Ben, and while I won't be as hype to tune in because Max certainly solidified his role as Ben, I hope people don't start giving the potential new Ben shit for filling in such a huge role. I'm typing this just as the video finished, my eyes are still red and boyfriend is holding me and watching me type this. Even though I had the closeted life, I identify myself more as Ben, always problematic, always thinking I don't deserve the love that's given to me, and of course always cheeky :p. My boyfriend is my Callum, The taller one, naively nice, sees good in other people, accepts all of the flaws I would deliberately throw his way to "prove" to him that I'm no good for him but he chose me anyway, just like how Callum chooses Ben no matter what.

He was out of EastEnders a year when he killed heather so I don’t think he’d get as long prison sentence this time. But we all know why they’ve rushed they this storyline revolving Ben because the actor is set to leave I’m guessing this was his last scene.

I'm weeping like a baby right now! The first time I know Ballum was through this channel and obsessed with them ever since.
I stil remember rhe comment I left on one of the video you uploaded that they'll stay for good. But here we are, 5 years later, Ben is leaving Walford.
I really wish all this just a dream because it feels like I'm loosing something so precious and close to my heart. They're my comfort , literally. I'll miss everything about them (I'm crying again). Zebra, thank you for your hard work! Wish we could see more of them but here's the end of the line.

What a huge mistake they have made here, first Lola, then the best 'Ben' they have ever had, is Callum next in line, it wouldn't surprise me one bit....
Well that's it. It was a rollercoaster 5 years - highs, lows, drama, domestic moments - enjoyed it all (well maybe not the breakups). The life of a soap couple is short, it can be tear your hair out frustrating but also lovely. You are at the mercy of writers and producers who may not want to invest anymore or actors who want to move on, so you have to take what you get sometimes.

Not to be sour, but I don't trust this show at all, especially under the command of this new executive producer. I'd like to believe that they're endgame and that they're going to let Callum raise Lexi, but I don't have any hope of that happening. Especially because I think there's going to be a recast, so I don't know how that would work because it's something that can't be recreated. And I'm not going to give my audience to this show waiting to see if it's going to happen. But I'm going to hope that they leave Callum raising Lexi and that, even if there is a recast, they keep the couple together.
The Chemistry! Their acting! How could anyone be so stupid as to decide to end it?! What they achieved with Ballum is what many soaps try to achieve. Madness.
Because the actor had been warned by bosses for his behaviour in public in the past and he repeated the cycle. This is what jobs are like. Actors should not get a free pass to behave entitled.

Not to burst anyone's bubble, but this is EE; either they plan to recast, which, even if they do, the chemistry might not be there. Or if they shelf Ben for a good couple of years, Callum is gonna move on with someone else. They'll pull a Robron where Ben in prison wants a divorce or something along those lines.
Well, if Callum finds out about Ben’s plan to do a runner…
Bubble? What other choice do they have? I love Max as an actor, but it sounds like he was fired because of his behavior on set. They can’t magically make a grown adult behave professionally, so a recast or keeping Ben away are the only real options here.

Since they have to let Max go, there were 2 ways I was hoping for this to happen : 1) They should have had a happier storyline with Ballum leaving together, or 2) Since I've read on social media that Max has done something bad outside of EE, risking his job, (not completely sure what though) EE bosses should have just given him a temporary leave to come back again at some point soon.
Whatever he's done wrong, I'm sure it can't have been so bad as to give him a perma leave from the show. This is just so unfair, and look what state it's left a lot of us Ballum fans in now.☹☹☹☹😧😧😧

I have this idea that... if there was some way that viewers could put in ideas on their favourite soap storylines sometimes, the show bosses would read them and select the best ones. But it's only a thought.
Anyway... for me personally, besides Ballum, I'm also liking the partnership storyline with Suki & Eve. They've just broken up Ballum, and I'm going to keep watching in hope that they *never* break up Suki and Eve. So here's hoping with fingers crossed.
I'm sorry for such a long winded post, but one last thing : I have rarely commented on this channel, not as much others have, but I'm very glad I found it, and to be abe to write my thoughts about it and read how others feel about it too.

I say goodbye to this channel. No, in no way do I think that it is bad. On the contrary, this channel gave me such a beautiful love story that I can't believe that they are without a good ending. My life seems to have stopped, it all hurts so much accept, I will rewatch them again and again, because I cannot forget this amazing love story, but there will be no new episodes, I am so sorry...

You don't know that Tony will leave this year. Clenshaw's problem seems to have been with Max (he gave Jessie Wallace a free pass for her drunken antics which included assaulting a policeman - far worse than Max's indiscretions). They might well have other plans for Callum.

I just don't understand what is going on with gay/queer representation on soap operas. To give them this ending is just madness. Is this the go to (Emmerdale/Hollyoaks)???? The prison storyline? Or, on the run? Just poor producing and writing. Finally, there's some sort of respectable gay representation with loving (albeit crazy) partners and a family. And, you give them this exit????? Thanks Zebra5702 for keeping Ballum alive. This is just sad to end their love/characters this way. I know that its a soap. But, there is just so little representation. So, to reduce 'Ben' to a callous thug is just disappointing at best.

You know back when Lola was alive dealing with her brain cancer? Ben went to America to seek treatment for her? The genius writers (I mean that sarcastically mind you) shoe horned that Ben stole a credit to fund for that trip, and he was arrested for fraud. It's stupid unrealistic writing because no law enforcement is gonna go overseas to deal with credit fraud of less than 6k USD. It's stupid stupid stupid writing just because they fired Ben's actor in December last year
