I put this on in the background and genuinely forgot I was listening to an SNL sketch for a minute.
As someone who loves musical theatre and the NFL almost equally (with almost no friends that share both those interests) the Super Bowl Broadway sketch spoke to my soul in ways I cannot describe.

That was one of SNL's most elaborate and creative sketches. It was so spot on it was almost not a spoof.

(this is just a joke, please don't list examples, I know about Sweeney Todd, not to mention a lot of golden age broadway shows. I'm not an idiot, but modern Broadway is a whole lotta tenors. Not all tenors, just a whole lot of them)

Because all New Wave bands had guitars with tuning pegs switched to inside the body(so '80s). It was a pretty spot-on addition to the props for the skit, and a good observation by you!

You know, my favourite part of these compilations they put out is how they all start with a segment from the middle of one of the later sketches that we then have to watch again later while not laughing because we already saw that part.
