Billy The Gun was one of my grandpa’s favorite sketches. He was a big Steve Martin fan and found out about that sketch years after it aired and watched it almost weekly. I remember bringing friends over and that would be one of the first things he would do, is show them that sketch.
he remembered when they played the game properly. with guns.
They called me The Gun for two reasons:
1. I had the best arm in the league!
2. I always brought a gun on the field!

To me the funniest thing about this sketch is the fact that they actually got the call wrong. It’s not a fumble technically. He did lose the ball but since his arms were going forward It’s a forward pass.
