The difference between 4-kids dubs of One Piece and the Funimation Dub is quite significant.. Funimation Dub is better and the words used are words only people 15 and up should be hearing
harry fisher It was just a jest. I'm well aware not ALL dubs are bad, and not even all 4Kids dubs are bad. In fact, a large majority of dubs are probably better than the Japanese versions.
"In 2009, Cartoon Network aired 9 new Live Action shows because they thought animation was dead." And in 2010-2016, Nick aired about 20 live-action shows that were even worse.
@@ffjreviews9029 Those were good. I think that my favorites are Drake and Josh, iCarly and Big Time Rush. And Nickelodeon has always used both cartoons and sitcoms ever since its inception. Cartoon Network only did that as an experiment.
@@ffjreviews9029 You forgot the ever-so-underrated House of Anubis. Granted, it is of an entirely different genre, but still, people tend to forget it way too often.
I'm a Filipino and by God.... I've seen Filipino television since my mom watches it all the fucking time and the Philipines barely does animation. They usually do live action sitcoms, sketch shows or romantic soap operas...
You gotta admit, TFC is really, really, really repetitive on plots when it comes to drama. There's always that one stereotypical jealous mean female antagonist.
Unusual Crow nothing, it's just strange, since the voice actor can do more then just his voice, so, he could've done a new voice instead, most voice actors can make new voices if they need to
Pillowcase Corner you could by the same token say 'Asian people generally cause a lot of car accidents'. Yes they do; there are billions of Asians. doesn't mean they're all bad drivers.
The 2000's also brought us cartoons like Avatar: the Last Air Bender, the original Teen Titans, Courage the Cowardly Dog, Fullmetal Alchemist, Ed Edd & Eddy, Kids Next Door, Ben 10, Gravitation, Jimmy Neutron, Dave the Barbarian, Kim Possible, Ouran High School Host Club, and so on.
I wouldn't count anime as necessarily part of the shit storm that tended to be western animation at that point. Kim Possible is bae though, and didn't Proud Family come out then too? Those were both good.
+Andrew Addams Other Horrible ideas include: Berserk, Gurren Lagann, Gantz, AoT (Though I personally dislike that one for its overhype), One Punch Man, Terra Formars and Seven Deadly Sins.
Shadowzen Kawaii• Story of defending against giant monsters is very interesting, but everyone said it was the best new thing so much that the idea that's been built up in my head is so good that the actual AoT will never compare. Some newer anime fans are calling it the best anime, which in my mind, means its better than Cowboy Bebop, Gantz, Berserk, and Gurren, which is an amazing feat I don't think many can live up to. Also, seems like an intro to the dark genre for many, as I'm a vet of it with Gantz, Berserk, Terra Formars and Elfen Lied under my belt over the years, so I'd just compare its deaths to those
Funny how now the “slang” that’s used in Da Boom Crew is now used in some form of internet meme culture. eg. “I’ll JFK your ass”, “They did a JK Rowling”, “That guy went DarkSydePhil”
I feel like spongebobs influence contributed to the quality of 2000s kids cartoons, because people misconstrued the theme as just a show about a hyper character annoying people (which spongebob itself eventually delved into)
Jen Flynn-Fletcher that’s more of a trend in the 2000s-2010s, hello Breadwinners, Sanjay and Craig, Pig Goat Banana Cricket, TTG, Coconut Fred, Uncle Grandpa, Pickle and Peanut, Fish Hooks, or any CGI Nickelodeon Show that wasn’t a property based on a movie
If Mega Babies was the worst show in a grossout trend started by Ren and Stimpy, then Stressed Eric was the worst show in a torture porn trend started by Rocko's Modern Life. And that torture porn trend also seeped into Ed, Edd n Eddy, Spongebob Squarepants, and other 2000s-2010s kids shows like My Gym Partner's a Monkey, The Amazing World of Gumball, Out of Jimmy's Head, The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy, and Rocket Monkeys. Everyone hates it when best friends are like Jimmy and Craig from Re-Animated. June 13, 2020, 1:55pm
@@Kairos_Akuma Even they were not safe from having a few bad episodes like that. I know that Be A-Fred, Be Very A-Fred, The Rival, The Brain and The Finale were definitely some kind of torture porn.
It's times like this when I see all these people online claiming that animation is dead and that we're still in a dark age and groan. You really want our generation to resemble anything like THIS?! To all those people I say: open your eyes and be fucking grateful for the decade we live in.
Miles Bockelman They are still refusing which is sad. I mean MLP is considerd a insult now to most, People think Steven universe lost its charm after the crossover which is really sad and probily funny, and now people are refusing so many good stuff because its not edgy enough.
AnimeWolfgamer People actually think SU lost its charm after say uncle?! DUDE! That Episode was one of the funniest SU episodes, and without a doubt the best UG episode. I loved that one, and Especially how many times Pearl flipped out. xD Lterally nothing changed after the UG crossover.
LeafMeadow Ya you wouldn't believe how people say the creator sold out when they mention so many times its not gonna effect anything major. But then again this is the same people who said the father character a worthless sack of shit. Doesn't surprise me much.
AnimeWolfgamer The people thinking the show "lost its charm" are people who only started watching when the bandwagon hit after Steven Bomb and are upset that there arent more "plot" episodes. I'm so glad I started watching fairly early on in the show.
Lukesonthomp I feel people should stop watching shows for creators and start watching them for how they create their content for that show. That is the important thing of the day as why should we care what the creator could of done or what should of change but rather how they put that content and stands on its merits.
Speaking of the worst year of a constantly ruined decade that we live in that is ending, let's find a way to get Mr. Enter to do Animated Atrocities #???: *insert animated film of 2013 here whether it's Turbo, Frozen, Escape from Planet Earth, Walking With Dinosaurs, Justin and the Knights of Valor, any movie made for prissy little girls, Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs 2 or Free Birds*
Gabcard I’m gonna guarantee that Breadwinners, Mr Pickles, Problem Solverz, Adventures of Kid Danger, Planet Sheen, Teen Titans Go, and King Star King are gonna be on the list or at least a mention
I don't agree with all the choices, but I think you really hit the nail on the head with what you had to say about the decade in general. You articulated your points well, and this was a fantastic video. Grats on the 100k!
Graphite Tail Grace I'll admit, Loonatics Unleashed was a bit of a guilty pleasure for me. Yeah it was stupid, but it was still somewhat enjoyable for me. I think I liked the 2nd season more because at least it was more goofy and even the villains were more based off of other Looney Tunes characters. Still doesn't beat the original Looney Tunes, not in a billion years.
***** If I had to guess, one possibility would be Drawn Together being on the list (which I can understand). Beyond that, though, it might be some of the selections being either too low or too high in comparison to what he might have viewed as the worst cartoons of the 2000's.
I remember when Cartoon Network had all those live-action shows... those were dark days. You know something has gone horribly wrong when a network that has the word "cartoon" _in their title_ decides that cartoons aren't profitable.
***** Well, it wasn't unwatchably bad. I could watch it every now and then if there was nothing else on. The problem was I wanted cartoons, and in the one place I expected to get them, I got live-action instead. Considering all the great original cartoons they'd made several years prior, it was especially frustrating to me as a kid.
Matthew Llillard was actually a good Shaggy and a worthy successor to Casey Casum. Unfortunately, despite looking like Matt's take on Shaggy in the cartoon here, they didn't have him voice act as him. Huge missed opportunity.
Here's an interesting thing about 4kids. They had to make all of those edits to the shows they got licenses for because their shows were being aired on public television, and in order for a show to be aired on public tv in the US they have to be free of any cultural references, religious symbols, blood, or any dark themes. And here's another thing: One Piece is considered a children's show in Japan. So of course 4kids would buy the rights to it not actually knowing how much editing they were going to have to do. Mistakes like these coupled with the pressures of editing for public television are what ultimately put 4kids out of business. Now I'm not defending 4kids in any way. It's just that nobody ever really hears the full story about why the edits were made.
Courtney (ProjectSNT) 4Kids didn't even WANT the One Piece license. Toei forced it on them when they got the license to Ultimate Muscle. Also, several of the edits (Yes, including ZOLO) were Toei mandate, not 4Kids. I'm not saying 4Kids did nothing wrong, but I feel that 4Kids has become the scapegoat for everything wrong with anime censorship. I once saw a person blame 4Kids for the Sailor Moon dub. The one that was made well before they ever started dubbing anime
Courtney (ProjectSNT) DiC is also guilty of abusing woolseyism and bowdlerization of anime, particularly Sailor Moon. I remember seeing the Season 1 finale of the show (in English) when I was a kid, and I felt that something was off in how they presented the heroines' sacrifices to save the universe. In the original Japanese version, they all died, including the title character herself (they get better at the end thanks to a reset button). (Sarcasm Mode) Apparently kids couldn't handle the concept of heroic death and character development in a multidimensional show! And the Sonic Sez styled segment that DiC shoehorned in are some of the dumbest Clueless Aesops ever seen. "Queen Beryl did a terrible thing when she destroyed the moon! But if you aren't careful, you may destroy the planet too through pollution and plain old carelessness!" What does that have anything to do with the episode?!
***** Zoro to Zolo was also because of the character Zorro and they were afraid of getting sued. Kinda like the whole Conan thing where the folks who made Conan the Barbarian believe they are the only ones who are allowed to have anything titled Conan. Which is why even Conan O'Brian had to pay those folks to be able to even use his own freaking name for his late night show. Of course, the Zoro name thing is not an issue now but it was back then.
Courtney (ProjectSNT) Actually, One Piece is considered a series for Teens in Japan. It even has a 13+ rating down there. Other than that, it's true. This is one of the biggest reasons people didn't see the last two arcs of Yu Yu Hakusho.
I honestly wouldn't mind the fact that they censored the blood, alcohol, and cursing in the one piece if the dub wasn't so fucking awful and they didn't butcher the timeline and episode order
3DSDF Oh theres much more to that story than just merchandising much much more, but hey I'm glad it reaired on Toonami and did fairly well there. Unfortunately it can't air anymore because it was written off as a failure along with Beware The Batman, but I'm not mad I'm not mad at all [Screams Internally]
agentofxehanort Yes, and so is My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. In fact, a decent handful of Hub cartoons were made in Flash, and were pretty good in their own right. Hell, some of them were even great yet underrated, like Dan Vs.
10.- Coconut Fred's Fruit Salad Island 09.- The Ripping Friends 08.- Drawn Together 07.- Shaggy and Scooby-Doo Get A Clue 06.- Loonatics Unleashed! 05.- 4Kids! Dubs Special Mention ONE PIECE 04.- The Cramp Twins 03.- Pixel Pinkie 02.-Da Booom Crew 01.- The Nutshack
relax alax i agree, johnny test seemed like a given, in every one of his reviews from the show he seemed to hate it with a passion. Also, i'm really surprised to see you here, it caught me off guard!
Unoriginal Username+ Yeah even as a kid, I didn't remember Catscratch on Nickelodeon that much. In all honesty, Jimmy Neutron is just as good as the 90s nickelodeon shows. Seriously, Jimmy Neutron just doesn't get as much phrase as it deserves. I adored this show as a kid and I still do. You're definitely right. =)
The funny thing is that Sega adored the 4Kids voice cast so much that they straight up replaced the old cast. And although they didn't exactly do all too great at first, games like Sonic Unleashed and the storybook series have some of the best voice work in the entire Sonic franchise. And they still have a huge cult following to this day even though the studiopolis voice cast has been around a lot longer than they have.
And yeah, 4kids is the bane of my existence. I can't really think of much stuff that would be worse than them picking up shows that are obviously aimed towards more mature audiences, particularly the violent ones, and then censoring them into kid-friendly, puritan-friendly trash that, yes, doesn't contain rice balls. Or... any food that isn't popular in America
+Sam Geuvenen I can agree on that one. I REALLY wish 4Kids didn't edit Yu-Gi-Oh!'s darker themes out including death and guns from what I've heard. It was obvious from the very beginning from the manga, Season 0, the card game and the original Japanese version that Yu-Gi-Oh! isn't really meant and or for kids and is really meant for more mature audiences like teens and adults. Then again Season 0 wasn't perfect either from what I've heard. It's quite abridged from the original manga and even elements from the original Japanese version of Duel Monsters weren't perfect either in visuals or story from the original manga. Basically I would always try to source the original source material to get a good idea of what truly happened within any series.
+Sam Geuvenen On the other hand, censorship aside, their Pokemon dub was actually pretty damn good and helped to popularize anime in the west. I can understand why many don't like them (hell, their only dubs I like are Pokemon and Yu-gi-oh) but they did help contribute to anime dubbing as a whole.
Actually, 4Kids didn't originally WANT One Piece. They thought it wouldn't catch on in the west (because CLEARLY we westerners HATE anything to do with pirates. They clearly got the message when all four PotC movies tanked and bankrupted Disney; and poor Johnny Depp hasn't even been able to find work after how bad they tanked). No, they only took it because it came in a deal with a bunch of other shows that they wanted. Interestingly enough, 4Kids actually DID do some adult anime, but under a different name. I believe it was Anime Works. Shootfighter Tekken features many of the same voices you hear in pretty much all 4Kids dubs, and you get to hear Yugi call Goku a piece of shit. Who doesn't want to hear that? And it's not like it's JUST Dan Green. It's Dan Green doing his Yugi voice. It's fucking awesome.
*_I KNOW..._* right...?! It was one of *_THE_* best cartoon shows of the 2000's (along with the first season of the _Kung Fu Dino Posse_ cartoon show)!!!
Kirby Right Back At Ya gave us DEDEDE with a *Southern ACCENT!* Funniest thing I’ve ever heard in my life. The memes! “I need a monstah to clobba dat dere Kirbeh”
Where SpongeBob succeeds where Coconut Fred fails, is that Bikini Bottom without SpongeBob (the character) would be a lot worse. We see this in several episodes (WhoBob, Great Patty Caper, even the What if SpongeBob was Gone? shorts) that Bikini Bottom is a lot better than it could've been thanks to the character. Heck, even the Krusty Krab is thriving because of him. Ever notice how there are barely any customers in Help Wanted prior to the Anchovies first appearing? Ever notice how in SYF, Hooky and other episodes where SpongeBob is absent from the KK everything's gone terrible? Bottom line is, Bikini Bottom would probably be long gone without SpongeBob. SpongeBob actually keeps it a float and as much as we like to celebrate National No SpongeBob Day, we can't deny how important of a person he is to Bikini Bottom.
Hobobatman1000 Not to mention when we need something explained in a show or film, I'm glad Morgan Freeman is there, plus, he gains a freckle every time.

I hate it when people say spongebob is a bad show. Because it’s not. Season 9 onward is really good (aside from Spongebob You’re Fired, Ink Lemonade, or Little Yellow Book). Plus only Seasons 6-8 of Spongebob are worth incinerating
Then Enter would take into account the show's best episodes, Chocolate with Nuts, Band Geeks, and Dunces and Dragons and the show's worst episodes, A Pal for Gary, One Coarse Meal, Pet Sitter Pat all came out after December 31, 2009. So they wouldn't be taken into account. The worst episode that came from that decade are the worst from season 6 (Choir Boys, Boating Buddies, The Splinter, all of the STP.) though it had it's best (No Hat for Pat, The Slumber Party, and Sand Castles in the Sand.) While episodes from early season 7 weren't that bad aside from SITKWS, and Stuck in the Wringer.
+Grizz, Pan-Pan, and Ice Bear Me too. The Drawn Together series was actually something I kind of enjoyed. However, the Drawn Together Movie was one of the biggest disappointments ever, so much to the point where I say it doesn't have the right to be called a part of the Drawn Together series. It's sort of like how I separate the wonderful original Ren & Stimpy from the unforgivable Adult Party Cartoon.
The 2010s are pretty much the golden age of animation, for the first time it's actually considered normal, even expected, for cartoons to have emotional storylines, complex characters and unique, high quality art styles. For all the problems we have in the world, I'm glad to be alive at a time when the quality of media is so high. It is a pretty amazing time to be alive to be a fan of animation.
I think 2010s animation is a mixed bag cause on one hand you have good story and entertainment like adventure time and gumball and on the other hand you have the most tiring art style such as the Cal Arts style which almost every cartoon in the 2010s had but their stories usually made up for it thou
Congrats on 100K. 10. Remembered seeing ads for Coconut Fred on WB and I think that's when I quit morning cartoons on cable networks. 9. Never heard of it until now 8. I'm in the camp that loves Drawn Together. The movie can kiss my ass though 7. Same as #10 6. Guilty Pleasure. Plus second season was better but not by much. 5. Oh God WHY!? Theme song is awful, but I'll take it over the Diamond and Pearl rap 4. Think I saw one episode of Cramp Twins. Looked bad. Never went back 3. Only know from the Clones R Us review 2-1 RebelTaxi brought these up and looked awful.
***** 10. Same here, and I think it might have been Kids WB's swansong (or at least close enough to one) on the original WB channel. 9. Apparently this show was on Fox Kids and then aired uncensored sometime later on in Adult Swim. It's admittedly quite odd it got on Adult Swim since I never saw them promote it before, but I guess that's a sign of what kind of quality it had there. 8. Drawn Together is more of a love-it-or-hate-it show than anything else, but even fans of the show don't really like season 3. That season was where they really got lazy with jokes and ideas... kind of like the film. 7. I don't know when Cartoon Network aired this, but RowdyC pretty much looked into that show perfectly. 6. Never saw it myself. I do admit it had potential, but potential and success are two different things in this world. 5. That's pretty much a dead horse topic, but it did kind of kill off 4Kids for their anime dubbing. So why not? (P.S., Adult Swim's website has that theme on there instead, likely as a joke on their end.) 4. I saw more episodes then 1, unfortunately. While that episode with spit was definitely disgusting, I really didn't remember much about that show myself. I guess that's a good thing, but people say The Life and Times of Juniper Lee was a good show (certainly better than The Crap Twins were, at least), and I don't remember that either! Maybe the decade was so bland that the early 2000's premiered shows Cartoon Network had didn't have things stand out to me after all? Likely not, though, considering Samurai Jack, Codename Kids Nest Door and Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends were rather good shows themselves. 3. Same, although I don't think it's still running in Australia (correct me if I'm wrong, though). 2. The intro theme kind of ripped off a track that's easy to recognize, but I don't remember the name of yet. Other than that, it's not really a show worth your time at all. 1. You seen modern day Family Guy or Mr. Pickles episodes? Make the environment gangsta, remove the cutaways or Satanic shit, and make an intro that has the Diamond & Pearl rap sound decent by comparison, and that's The Nutshack for you! Also, it got a second season, but thankfully nothing more than that.
There are actually some 2000s cartoons that I enjoy and miss very much. Before we had MLP, Star vs. the Forces of Evil, Regular Show, The Loud House, Gravity Falls, Wander Over Yonder, Steven Universe, We Bare Bears, and The Looney Tunes Show we had Kim Possible, Dave the Barbarian, Lilo & Stitch: The Series, Xiaolin Showdown, Codename: Kids Next Door, Super Robot Monkey Team Hyperforce Go, Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends, W.I.T.C.H. and Duck Dodgers. I would say Totally Spies, butt it's one of those programs that you hate but everyone else likes. March 25, 2018, 6:02pm
CN had 7 live action shows on their network? Seriously? Jesus I remember seeing alot of live action shows on CN before, but f*cking 7?!? That's just overkill.
Yeah, this was during their CN Real campaign back in 2009. Five of those shows were cancelled pretty much immediately, and the other two just kind of suffered a slow and uneventful death as Adventure Time, Regular Show, and Sym-Bionic Titan creeped in to revive people's interest in Cartoon Network.
The only one I really was called Destroy Build Destroy. The basic concept is two teams of teens(I'm guessing around my age or older)have to choose one of four choices to destroy something. Once that's done I'm not sure but what do remember is that one team has to choose a setback for the other team. Once the building round is over the teams put their contraptions to the test in a final challenge. Whatever team loses gets thingyamober destroyed by an explosive of some kind. Simple as that.
Rogueofmv Even though I didn't like this show, wasn't Tower Prep was planned to go on for like 5 season? But they canceled it and the speculated answer was because it had more girls than boys watching and girls didn't buy as many toys as boys.
Jonnathan Sosa From what I understand, the reason for these changes had a lot to do with influence from a top executive named Stu Synder, who for some reason decided that cartoons just weren't appealing to kids anymore based on statistics that almost no-one else outside of the people he interacted with in board meetings ever saw. He even went so far as to financially supported every live-action show that was supposed to replace the cartoons and oversee their productions. Now the man solely wasn't solely responsible for the downfall of cartoon network, lord knows there were plenty of other milksops who either cowtowed or just didn't rise to the challenge. But he was the biggest hurdle to get over, thankfully he steeped down after shows like adventure time and regular show proved more successful than anything he thought of.
You mentioned the 70s as one of your least favorite decades for animation. The 70s may have been a terrible decade for the U.S., but in Japan, it was a completely different story entirely. Japan was getting classic after classic like... Mazinger Z Getter Robo Cutey Honey Candy Candy Voltes V Lupin III (Both TV Series) The Rose of Versailles Robot Hunter Casshan/Casshern Future Boy Conan Gatchaman Space Battleship Yamato Captain Harlock Ashita No Joe Tiger Mask Aim for the Ace and countless others
Natendowii Yeah it's weird, they're two incredibly different market Always saw Japanese animation has a whole other thing entirely (Don't get me wrong, I love anime). They have different tropes, different laws, they're less restricted in general too. There's also the fact that a massive number of anime never got aired on TV in most places at all VS most of western animation where stuff gets around a lot of more
Now that you mention it, japan put a ton of more effort to their animations than america... Television wise. Personally, im not fond of 80s cartoons. Have you seen Jem and the Holograms? That show is awful.
"Once upon a time, 90's Kids did have a point" Yes. A lot of people forget that the whole #90skids thing started during a time when cartoons went downhill majorly. Now adays, cartoons are not nearly as bad and neither are the 90s kids who bragged about their childhoods being better, because they have no reason to anymore.
7:30: you are SOOO right about this one, man. That show was irritating and it always tried to be the next South Park, but the jokes were stupid and sometimes just straight-out offensive.
Who knew that the blood seal on Alphonse's armor was just red paint? What was even more surprising was when Riza's gun fired lasers. The saddest part was when Maes Hughes took a day off from work and never came back.
4 kids dub of kill la kill? I could already see half if not all the content in THAT show going into the trash. LoL Instead of a Kamui - let's give her a sailor uniform or some BS like that! XD
To be completely honest, even though you don't like the show, I think it was Flapjack that broke the trend of these horrible cartoons (and lack thereof). Just look at the cast, they had JG Quintel, Mike Roth, Cole Sanchez, Alex Hirsch, Pendleton Ward, and many more. This was the starter show for the geniuses behind the greatest cartoons of the 2010's. It may have been Adventure Time that ultimately ended the era of shit, but that show might've never existed if it weren't for Flapjack. I'll always respect it for that.
Good shows from 2000-2005 -Invader zim -My life as a teenage robot -Fosters home for imaginary friends -Ben 10 (original) -Avatar Don't remember much from the 2000's someone finish the rest of the list
That half live action band playing video used for the transitions keeps making me nervous. The singer keeps singing a very smooth line while shaking like he's having a seizure.
I know I'm gonna get shit thrown at me, but I kinda liked Lunatics Unleashed and honestly I think it could have been decent if it didn't try to inject Looney Tunes stuff to much and just was it's own thing and just been really over the top action show with maybe some serious bits here and there, for when the story called for it.
***** What the fuck do those have to do with me finding enjoyment in Lunatics Unleashed? Yeah, it wasn't a good show and I never said it was, but it was fairly "okay", but could have been better.
AndrewLuis CrespoDeMoura Honestly, I'd say it's biggest issue is that it tried to be too serious. LIke, there was a show with Daffy Duck called "Duck Dodgers", and that show was a good mix of comedy and serious stuff, that's what Unleashed needed to be.
***** Well, yeah that's kinda the issue. It tried to be way to serious, but instead should have just been a mix of comedy and action. Hell, I'd say the character designs and animation isn't that terrible and it could have had potential.
Dylan Kaiser I hope Butch Hartman is in on it. If not, I doubt it will be any good or as good as it should be. If it does happen without Butch, I do hope it does well.
I don't think they are bringing it back. Butch Hartman tried to convince Nick to revive it but they weren't interested and he's since left the network.
They dubbed Yugioh Zexal after the bankruptcy and are currently working on yugioh arc v Konami bought their asses and now are dubbing only yugioh (and their dubs are still shit)
Superman13195 taking series and going into the extreme to cencore because they felt kids wouldn't understand simple things including food they cencored bloody food because parently kids are brain dead and other things like in sonic x where a character named cosmo has to sacrifice her self to save everyone and tails has to active a rocket to blow her up or something i dont enirely recall but anyways in the original version tails goes apeshit kicking and screaming showing that he wanted to be more than freinds and in the 4kids version he cries a bit and calmy saying they were just freinds and nothing more but one thing i gotta say out of all the garbadge they made there was only one series that they created and it wasnt a dub it being the 03 tmnt series which actually got pretty dark at points like for example how leonardo decapitated the shredder near the end of the first season and also a episode where one of the villans baxter stockman starts to decay and fall a part but that episode was understandingly cencored
Superman13195 not literally its a saying what im refering to is stuff like the infamous pokemon scene with brock where he is clearly eating rice balls yet he referes them to as jelly filled doughnuts and even goes on to a rant about how he loves themits realy bad but funny because of its stupididty you should look it up
TheMysteriousMrEnter "How did we get out? I have no fucking clue. We got Adventure Time, then everything started improving." It was actually entirely Adventure Time. It was a group of people that wanted to make a cartoon. Then like half the team left and made all the other cartoons we know right now, Over the Garden Wall. Steven Universe. Gravity Falls. All of the teams on these shows have roots into Adventure Time.
+Templarfreak There's an interesting theory The Nostalgia Critic brought up not too long ago about how the people who were children in the late 80's/90's and grew up watching modern classics like Animaniacs, Rugrats, and Gargoyles were influenced by that. So when they went on to make cartoons of their owns, they built upon the things that made the shows of their childhoods so great. That makes a lot of sense to me. I could definitely see how Gravity Falls could inspiration from, say, Courage the Cowardly Dog.
Honestly, I think Phineas and Ferb brought animation out of its low point in the 2000s. From the moment that the pilot episode aired in 2008 until the series finale aired this past June, I loved every minute of the show and I still mourn its end.
2000 cartoons >>>>>>>>>>>>>> this shitty era of cartoons. Peanut and Mr. Pickle? TTG? We are bears? There are a lot more that l don't want to name right now but if you guys think this list make this cartoons better then you need to be enlightened.
+hew ooks we bare bears is actually really good. this decade is redeeming cartoons with Steven universe, gravity falls, adventure time, legend of Korra, amazing world of gumball, etc
How do people think the 2000's were the worst decade for animation? Airing during this time is Avatar, Invader ZIM, Danny Phantom, The Fairly Oddparents, My Life As A Teenage Robot, Samurai Jack, Ed, Edd, & Eddy, As Told By Ginger, Courage the Cowardly Dog, Chowder, Kim Possible, Family Guy, American Dad, Spongebob, Codename: Kids Next Door, Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy, Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends, Jimmy Neutron, Martin Mystery, Kappa Mikey, Teen Titans, Catscratch, Aqua Teen Hunger Force, King of the Hill, The Secret Show, countless anime, and much more! "The 2000's were the worst decade for animation." Just......WHAAAAATTT?
Why should Mr. Enter not like the 2000s? More Animated Atrocities and Admirable Animations are in this decade than any other one. January 14, 2019, 9:35pm
Reggie Willing I’m glad I’m not the only one who remembers The Secret Show, Kappa Mikey, and Martin Mystery. Anyone I brought them up to wouldn’t have a clue what I was talking about.
It seems like every 10 years, on 20X2, we'll get a cartoon from 20X2 to 20X6 starring twins. In the 2000s it was The Cramp Twins. In the 2010s it was Gravity Falls. Maybe it will alternate between bad and good. The next one will suck, and the one after will be awesome.
Congrats on 100,000 subs. This was really mixed bag era for cartoons. There weren't that much shows that were appealing to watch before reruns of my favorite old shows. Instead of watching the alright shows before my favorite ones came on, I now checked to see when my favorite show was on and wouldn't turn the tv on until then. This era of cartoons felt like the networks were trying to see what new direction they could go without having a solid plan or a back up one. And once they started this new line of cartoons they didn't know how to get back until we got shows like Adventure Time. At least we got through this era of cartoons and are back on track with some amazing ones and others soon to come.
Redcord CHN Its weird allot of shows i really loved have a huge portion of their runs in the 2000s. Ed edd N eddy started in 1999, Powerpuffs in 1998 and Samurai Jack was a 2001 premier. I'd say allot of the crap didn't start till later in the decade when allot of the networks old reliable cartoons started to be canceled and they needed replacing
Yes, Cartoon Network knew what it wanted to do with those shows but due to complications by a bomb scare, network president stepping down, and new management wanting to focus on more live action shows for reasons dealing with cost and a newer generation of viewers the network needed a new image to try and redeem itself from its mistakes.
***** Yep. Come to think of it, Adventure Time did end the dark age of CN and brought forth a new age of cartoons. I mean can you imagine these shows out in the time of powerpuff girls, dexter's lab and ed edd and eddy?
***** after Ben 10 shit started to fall due to exploitation, Spongebob Season 5 was the begining of dark era and the debut of Disney XD (doesn't really deserve the XD) hell not only cartoons were declining so was Music, Pro Wrestling, Economy then came the 2010's where cartoons and Pro Wrestling (WWE still PG :'( ) got better but not music >:(
Austin Reed 2016 was the worst year of my life. Celebrities like David Bowie and Muhammad Ali died, Harambe was shot, Pokémon Go happened, a mass shooting in Orlando happened, a 2 year old was killed by an alligator in Disney World, Clowns were all over the country scaring people, Trump won the election, and many many many more awful things happened that year.
@@butterpie7592 Pokemon Go isn't a bad thing. In fact, July of 2016 is the most peaceful month of the year, and was probably the best glimmer of hope in an otherwise dark year. Nobody knew about Harambe until AFTER he was shot. People die, and many people would not recognize most of those names (people look at me like evil incarnate because I don't know who David Bowie is). It just happened to be a large number. Trump is a temporary problem. The clowns were a one-off BS incident. It was a shit year, yeah. But look at the context of things.
how would be albe to dub it anyway? 99% percent of the show would be censored anyways, because its a child porn. and i can just inmagine what their vocies sound like.... the kaguya imposter trap would be morgan freeman XC
*Here's my opinion on the 2000s era of cartoons* It wasn't perfect, but it was an improvement toward cartoon programming; both in it's creative style and quality.
For me I stuck with animation til 2009 that year sucked it was the worst year for any TV station Nickelodeon relied on Spongebob, Disney relied on Hannah Montana and other poor sitcoms, and well we all know CN Real, but we don't like to talk about that. Still on the occasion when I have free time or feel like watching some shows I'll sit down turn on CN or Disney and enjoy some great shows that they have.
SarahandAshley I disagree on it being an improvement I think the 90's was better in that it had quality shows from 1992 like X-Men Rugrats and Batman to the late 90's with stuff like Hey Arnold and Gargoyles it was pretty solid all the way through where as the 2000's kinda turned it's back on animation around 2008 or 2009 in favor of bad live action shows.
Dear Pesky Memers, Toby Fox and I have taken over Bedrock Town. Gilvasunner's our permenant guest at one of my 7 GRAND DADS. I dare you to find him if you can!
TheMysteriousMrEnter wow didn't expect you to be so close to my age. I was born in 94 and just turned 21, sadly i barely remember much of 90's cartoon's since i moved around a lot. But i look forward to when you get to the 90's to see if i get any nostalgic memories or just be like "wait....shit that's from my decade...sigh". good luck though. p.s gratz on 100k dude!
nanalinda4 gonna be honest. i think it's the best they've ever done with scooby doo. cthulu tries to kill che guevera, the design is actually an improvement from the what's new scooby doo style, it get's darker as it goes along, scrappy was murdered, they decided to give it an actual over arcing story and they give a reason for scooby talking i would assume as a playful middle finger. i find it better than pretty much every incarnation of scooby doo because they decided to give it some flavor outside of, oh spooky hollywood monsters. god knows it's better than scooby and scrappy and the random ethinc kid from thirteen ghosts. all that show had going for it was vincent price.
Maggie Offutt I know a lot of people like Kim Possible, and...while I don't *hate* it (or even really dislike it; it had interesting stories and a unique line-up of villains), I never really loved it the way a lot of people do; to be honest, I thought the main character was way too perfect, and all the other teen characters seemed too cliche for me. I at least hoped they wouldn't have Kim and Ron get together in the end (I'd *love* to see more guy/girl best friends who *don't* end up together; them just staying friends from beginning to end would have been refreshing), but no, even that happened. :sigh:
Maggie Offutt It was one of Nickelodeon's better cartoons of the early 2000s (pre-Avatar). They did play with a few too many teen character cliches (the jerk jock, the Alpha bitch, and of course, the boy/girl best friends who hook up at the end), but it was...all right, overall.
+Robert Ivey Like, for example, repeating the words IT'S THE NUTSHACK, over and over again, because the intro did it and that same intro appears repeatedly in high quality rips.
From 2000 to 2004, things were pretty good, but after that the quality of cartoons in general dropped hard. So I guess avatar, cat scratch, American dad, robot chicken, and camp lazlo just don’t exist.
One good thing that did come out of Drawn Together: Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt. The creator (a fan of western Animation) watched the show at a convention and saw what they were getting away with on American television, and asked himself "Why don't we do that?" And everybody pretty much adores Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt.
The worst thing 4kids did was probably edit out what was probably Tails' most emotional moment in sonic X where he hesitates and breaks down before firing a cannon. I mean even the fucking French stations kept that in! Apparently American kids cant handle a serious emotional break down
Bomberfox IKR? Some R-rated films are actually educational enough to be shown in schools! Man, it's no wonder I feel ashamed of myself for feeling too nervous to end up having to go through that type of experience!
4Kids actually reluctantly did One Piece. When they were offered to debit, they at first declined because of the violence, but they were forced into it by Toei.
The statement they Drawn Together wanted to be Jersey Shore is wrong, because Jersey Shore came out in 2009, and Drawn Together ended in 2007. Drawn Together was inspired by The Real World, The Surreal Life, and Big Brother.
When you played the mlp clip with the drawn together voices I wasn't paying attention so I thought that you were just randomly playing a mlp clip and that racist part threw me off guard
***** You don't need to apologize. I started noticing that things were going downhill in 2007, and thanks to Adventure Time and Regular Show, it got me back into animation. I don't watch Adventure Time anymore and I need to catch up on Regular Shows. I just wish comic book shows didn't suck *glares at Ultimate Spider-Man.*
even before the fall of the economy in late 2007- early 2008 - I thought a majority of changes that did affect CN to go down and produced the worst area of CN history was all thanks to that adult swim show: Aqua teen HF that produced unfortunately a BOMB scare terrorist attack or something of that nature... Which made the head CEO - resign and give it over to Sidney who then brought on the Canadian shows along with real time shows ....
Hub Hikari You like love triangles? Well season 6 has some episodes revolving around the love triangle between Mordecai, Margaret, and C.J. To be fair, they do have some other Regular Show styled stories as well (even if some of them are retreads), such as the latest ducks vs. geese episode. Regardless of what you may think of Regular Show's latest episodes, though, we can certainly agree that its worst episodes are a Hell of a lot better a vast majority of Teen Titans Go's episodes.
I mean the fact that One Piece opens up with a pirate being executed should have been enough for them to realize it wasn't for young kids.
4Kids fits all the stereotypes of a stupid, corrupt corporation.
Especially with the kodomo(a word that literally means "child")anime there are.
4Kids was nothing more than a bunch of idiots after distribution profits.
Zenith Wills, that statement you just here is not an excuse just because it's true. Trust me.
I actually liked 4kids but I agree about that show
"I present to you 4-Kids

Dubs. Dubs never change.
The difference between 4-kids dubs of One Piece and the Funimation Dub is quite significant.. Funimation Dub is better and the words used are words only people 15 and up should be hearing
+GreatAwesomeReviewers | StarDust Studios not all dubs are bad. It's just 4kids being inaccurate.
harry fisher It was just a jest. I'm well aware not ALL dubs are bad, and not even all 4Kids dubs are bad.
In fact, a large majority of dubs are probably better than the Japanese versions.
+GreatAwesomeReviewers | StarDust Studios I say this because dubs got a CRAP ton of flack. As a native speaker as I am, I enjoy dubs a lot.
"In 2009, Cartoon Network aired 9 new Live Action shows because they thought animation was dead."
And in 2010-2016, Nick aired about 20 live-action shows that were even worse.
TNTlover9 ?
Yup...
What about Drake and Josh, iCarly, Victorious, Big Time Rush, Kenen and Kel, Amanda Show, Zoey 101, and to an extent Sam and Cat
Actually, Nutshack was made for Filipino-Americans....
I apologize on behalf of all Filipinos.
wait, filipinos?
whyyy
I'm a Filipino and by God.... I've seen Filipino television since my mom watches it all the fucking time and the Philipines barely does animation. They usually do live action sitcoms, sketch shows or romantic soap operas...
You gotta admit, TFC is really, really, really repetitive on plots when it comes to drama. There's always that one stereotypical jealous mean female antagonist.
What? As a Filipino, I haven't heard of this. At all!
ArvinRoido Atienza insert that one track with the old lady laughing and a thousand more gag tracks after it
I remember reading that the creator of One Piece was so disgusted by the 4Kids dub that he DEMANDED Funimation to redub the entire thing.
+00maniacmanny00 nah, some voices are better in funimation, but i miss zolo's,mihawks and sanji's old voice, at least xolo didn't sound like piccolo
+Artencot
What's wrong with the way Piccolo sounds?
Unusual Crow nothing, it's just strange, since the voice actor can do more then just his voice, so, he could've done a new voice instead, most voice actors can make new voices if they need to
+Artencot yes, but it's also very common for them to reuse voices.
+Artencot Zoro* His name was never intended to be zolo. He is known as Roronora Zoro.
"I feel really sorry for John K"

powerstar 2028 men normally do a lot of bad things? Jesus, somebody's unrepentantly sexist.
Corin Wrigley It’s technically true, in the same way that they do a lot of good things
Pillowcase Corner you could by the same token say 'Asian people generally cause a lot of car accidents'. Yes they do; there are billions of Asians. doesn't mean they're all bad drivers.
Corin Wrigley I’m saying that the point is moot
Pillowcase Corner I agree with you, I just felt like the absurdity was worth mentioning twice. Also, her intent was definitely sexist, from her tone.
Courage and Ed Edd and Eddy are from the 90's
I think he was referring to when the two were at their peak during the 2000's
I wouldn't count anime as necessarily part of the shit storm that tended to be western animation at that point.
Kim Possible is bae though, and didn't Proud Family come out then too? Those were both good.

It's. The. Nut-shack!!
Pan-Pizza is the one who started the “It’s the Nutshack” meme.
I had the most horrible idea. A 4kids adaption of Tokyo Ghoul.
+Andrew Addams Other Horrible ideas include: Berserk, Gurren Lagann, Gantz, AoT (Though I personally dislike that one for its overhype), One Punch Man, Terra Formars and Seven Deadly Sins.
Attack on Titan is actually pretty good. It at least has an interesting story along with the fight scenes.
Also, seems like an intro to the dark genre for many, as I'm a vet of it with Gantz, Berserk, Terra Formars and Elfen Lied under my belt over the years, so I'd just compare its deaths to those
***** I love Gundam, build models personally, so of course. Something dark like 8th MS team, War in the Pocket, or knowing them, they'd play SEED.
***** My pride is my Neo Zeong 1/144, and my Gouf Custom from 8th MS team that I custom painted red and silver.
"i think this show wanted to be Invader Zim"
THERE CAN ONLY BE *ONE* INVADER ZIM
True. There can be no other. Some cartoons can come somewhat close, but they can't be the same as the little space bug.

Funny how now the “slang” that’s used in Da Boom Crew is now used in some form of internet meme culture.
eg. “I’ll JFK your ass”, “They did a JK Rowling”, “That guy went DarkSydePhil”
Oh my God, you're right. LOL.
I'll Bill Cosby Your Ass. They Did A Bush. That guy went Thomas McClaren
So Da Boom Crew predicted meme culture/stan Twitter lingo just like VeggieTales predicted internet humor.
I feel like spongebobs influence contributed to the quality of 2000s kids cartoons, because people misconstrued the theme as just a show about a hyper character annoying people (which spongebob itself eventually delved into)
There's much more to SpongeBob than just a hyper character annoying people, even in season 7, 8 and 11
Jen Flynn-Fletcher that’s more of a trend in the 2000s-2010s, hello Breadwinners, Sanjay and Craig, Pig Goat Banana Cricket, TTG, Coconut Fred, Uncle Grandpa, Pickle and Peanut, Fish Hooks, or any CGI Nickelodeon Show that wasn’t a property based on a movie
@@adamkalb1 Gumball and Grim at least we're good and had a story instead of beeing stupid or tortureporn for the sake of it

2020 you need to do the worst from the 2010's
Speaking of the worst year of a constantly ruined decade that we live in that is ending, let's find a way to get Mr. Enter to do Animated Atrocities #???: *insert animated film of 2013 here whether it's Turbo, Frozen, Escape from Planet Earth, Walking With Dinosaurs, Justin and the Knights of Valor, any movie made for prissy little girls, Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs 2 or Free Birds*

That might be hard. This decade’s pretty amazing

@powerstar 2028 same, 2010s is worse than 2000s.
funny thing is now The Nutshack has an underground following thanks to the theme song
this was made before the meme
Some Funny meme that will die in a few months I know, it's just interesting how time changes
I don't agree with all the choices, but I think you really hit the nail on the head with what you had to say about the decade in general. You articulated your points well, and this was a fantastic video. Grats on the 100k!
Hello PieGuy! I'd say my favorite of the choices was the Scooby Doo one.
Graphite Tail Grace nah, scratch that, I'd prefer Loonatics Unleashed.
+PIEGUYRULZ What are the show that you disagree with?
I remember when Cartoon Network had all those live-action shows... those were dark days. You know something has gone horribly wrong when a network that has the word "cartoon" _in their title_ decides that cartoons aren't profitable.
***** Well, it wasn't unwatchably bad. I could watch it every now and then if there was nothing else on. The problem was I wanted cartoons, and in the one place I expected to get them, I got live-action instead. Considering all the great original cartoons they'd made several years prior, it was especially frustrating to me as a kid.
***** Exactly. I just wish someone on the network's staff had realized that BEFORE they wasted time, effort and money making those shows. :/
***** I suppose so, but I don't know of any other channels that are owned by them aside from Boomerang, and that's for older cartoons.
the live action shows was the worst thing about cartoon network. atleast the live action shows are cancelled.
Andrew Clark Yeah, luckily I think they've learned their lesson. Now if we could only get Disney and Nick to realize it as well...
That nutshack show really does scream high quality rip TBH
TODOKETE! (Seriously though...that second ARG that happened was awesome...this meme is gonna be forced like crazy though :/)
I can't stop thinking of the word 'balls' because the theme song is trapped in my head and injected into me
That GRAND DAD scratching 7 green spots off his head was definitely the best part of that high quality rip
I think it's the best meme since When I'm Bored. 9/10.
DraculaMarth Huh I had no idea Toei did that. Thanks for the info.
But if you aren't careful, you may destroy the planet too through pollution and plain old carelessness!"
What does that have anything to do with the episode?!
The only good thing about the Nutshack is that it gave us a meme.

My Life as a Teenage Robot, Ed Edd n Eddy, Fairly Oddparents, Jimmy Neutron, Catscratch, Danny Phantom, Samurai Jack, Bill and Manny, Ben 10.
Jimmy Neutron is super underrated imo. Catscratch I only know of from the old flash games on the Nickelodeon website.mm mm
The only voice I couldn't stand was Cream's. Grated on my nerves
I would’ve understood eggman, since the guy who voiced him in the adventure games died in 06 or 05
And yeah, 4kids is the bane of my existence.
***** And imagine if they decided to take something with mature-audience-intended visual elements and censor them the way they remove the rice balls.
Sam Geuvenen They'd be creating nightmare fuel basically.
***** At least for anime fans.
None of 4K's problems with One Piece would've happened too, if it weren't for the coward parents whining with their handling of Shaman King.
TMNT 2003 wasn't a bad 4kids show.

Proabanly because it wasn’t an anime. Which is ironic since it has a decent amount of Japanese vibes
I liked Mew Mew Power because it wasn't super awful as say 4kids One Piece was. That's what I'm calling the 4kids dub of One Piece. 4kids One Piece
This man is a lateral genius
Also me and my friends just literally redesigned all the Characters from Coconut Fred

Wait friendship is magic came out after drawn together... So technically TWILIGHT sounds like CLARA, not the other way around.
+Hey, I'm a weirdo!
Plus, Jersey Shore came out AFTER Drawn Together was cancelled!
+Paintedrocket both are valid reasons, i said that earlier and surprisingly havent heard anyone else say that, and I like Drawn Together
+thetick532 At least Big Brother actually tries and takes advantage of its potential. although I think Drawn Together is just okay
Honestly I didn't think the movie was that 'bad' it was more 'meh' than anwthing else
+Bud Charles I feel bad for you
moved accounts why? Because he's enjoying this decade? I feel sorry for you.
I think 2010s animation is a mixed bag cause on one hand you have good story and entertainment like adventure time and gumball and on the other hand you have the most tiring art style such as the Cal Arts style which almost every cartoon in the 2010s had but their stories usually made up for it thou
The golden age was during the 30s to late 50s. The 90s are a close second

10. Remembered seeing ads for Coconut Fred on WB and I think that's when I quit morning cartoons on cable networks.
9. Never heard of it until now
8. I'm in the camp that loves Drawn Together. The movie can kiss my ass though
7. Same as #10
6. Guilty Pleasure. Plus second season was better but not by much.
5. Oh God WHY!? Theme song is awful, but I'll take it over the Diamond and Pearl rap
4. Think I saw one episode of Cramp Twins. Looked bad. Never went back
3. Only know from the Clones R Us review
2-1 RebelTaxi brought these up and looked awful.
***** 7 is same as #7? I don't get it.
There should be a rule: if you're creating an 'original' rap for your dub of an anime, you're most likely giving it a death sentence.
***** How many episodes were in Nutshack? Did he break his own rule?
So why not? (P.S., Adult Swim's website has that theme on there instead, likely as a joke on their end.)
It sad to see that this was also the era where "The Modifyers" pilot was never green-lit. Those were definitely dark times.
What do you call a story about a mexican pirate? JUAN PIECE

American Dragon Jake Long was great too
Honestly, the lack of distinction with Tara Strong's character voices just makes it funnier
To be fair, I really liked Tower Prep, and Destroy Build Destroy wasn't to bad.
Rogueofmv
Even though I didn't like this show, wasn't Tower Prep was planned to go on for like 5 season?
Mazinger Z
Getter Robo
Cutey Honey
Candy Candy
Voltes V
Lupin III (Both TV Series)
The Rose of Versailles
Robot Hunter Casshan/Casshern
Future Boy Conan
Gatchaman
Space Battleship Yamato
Captain Harlock
Ashita No Joe
Tiger Mask
Aim for the Ace
and countless others
Natendowii Yeah it's weird, they're two incredibly different market
Always saw Japanese animation has a whole other thing entirely (Don't get me wrong, I love anime). They have different tropes, different laws, they're less restricted in general too.
There's also the fact that a massive number of anime never got aired on TV in most places at all VS most of western animation where stuff gets around a lot of more
Natendowii Don't forget about Devilman
Maybe, but no one else in the world has ever heard of those shoes.
TheLastLevel999 These shows are very popular in other parts of the world and even here in the US. Mazinger Z is huge in Italy, Hong Kong and Spain.
Now that you mention it, japan put a ton of more effort to their animations than america... Television wise. Personally, im not fond of 80s cartoons. Have you seen Jem and the Holograms? That show is awful.
"Once upon a time, 90's Kids did have a point"
Yes. A lot of people forget that the whole #90skids thing started during a time when cartoons went downhill majorly. Now adays, cartoons are not nearly as bad and neither are the 90s kids who bragged about their childhoods being better, because they have no reason to anymore.
They weren't bad back then because they had a point, but the ones who still exist are worse because they have no point.
There were a lot of good cartoons on during that time actually. I can list dozens of them
7:30: you are SOOO right about this one, man. That show was irritating and it always tried to be the next South Park, but the jokes were stupid and sometimes just straight-out offensive.
Good Lord, what if 4kids dubbed Fullmetal alchemist?

To be completely honest, even though you don't like the show, I think it was Flapjack that broke the trend of these horrible cartoons (and lack thereof). Just look at the cast, they had JG Quintel, Mike Roth, Cole Sanchez, Alex Hirsch, Pendleton Ward, and many more. This was the starter show for the geniuses behind the greatest cartoons of the 2010's. It may have been Adventure Time that ultimately ended the era of shit, but that show might've never existed if it weren't for Flapjack. I'll always respect it for that.

It honestly wasn't bad, just sort of insulting to the Looney Toons. Although I would take it over Space Jam any day.
That would've made it better.
***** Well, yeah that's kinda the issue. It tried to be way to serious, but instead should have just been a mix of comedy and action. Hell, I'd say the character designs and animation isn't that terrible and it could have had potential.
7:32 A show that has characters from different cartoon genres meet? That's...brilliant! Why did they waste that concept on THIS?!
I know right?! Instead of making a satire of different cartoon genres, they basically tried to be South Park.

+Superman13195 they were poison

"How did we get out? I have no fucking clue. We got Adventure Time, then everything started improving."
It was actually entirely Adventure Time. It was a group of people that wanted to make a cartoon. Then like half the team left and made all the other cartoons we know right now, Over the Garden Wall. Steven Universe. Gravity Falls. All of the teams on these shows have roots into Adventure Time.
***** Yeah, and Chowder. They didn't help the 2000s Cartoon crisis, though... Even though they really should have, they were great shows.
***** And the fact that CN becomes a lot more open for new cartoons. Thank`s to that my fav can exist.
+Templarfreak I'd actually say Flapjack did it, since it inspired later shows, and the people behind those shows actually worked on Flapjack.
munromister777 Flapjack is like the uncredited old uncle in a home movie.
Honestly, I think Phineas and Ferb brought animation out of its low point in the 2000s. From the moment that the pilot episode aired in 2008 until the series finale aired this past June, I loved every minute of the show and I still mourn its end.

How do people think the 2000's were the worst decade for animation? Airing during this time is Avatar, Invader ZIM, Danny Phantom, The Fairly Oddparents, My Life As A Teenage Robot, Samurai Jack, Ed, Edd, & Eddy, As Told By Ginger, Courage the Cowardly Dog, Chowder, Kim Possible, Family Guy, American Dad, Spongebob, Codename: Kids Next Door, Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy, Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends, Jimmy Neutron, Martin Mystery, Kappa Mikey, Teen Titans, Catscratch, Aqua Teen Hunger Force, King of the Hill, The Secret Show, countless anime, and much more!

yeah, but it also produced crap like butt ugly martians, Mister Meaty, and one I'm surprised I never see people talk about, super duper sumos.
The next one will suck, and the one after will be awesome.
are you implying that flapjack is among the bad?
+stone sherrill many people do like the show though.
I only watched that show when I was about 8, and I guess I enjoyed it? It was good to watch when I was bored or whatever
+Darkevergreen I liked Flapjack, but I liked Chowder more, and still do.
I don't get the hate for flapjack, either. It wasn't great, but it isn't terrible.
+Troll Breaker oh my god I loved Chowder! That was one of my favorite shows (when CN was old)
Congrats on 100,000 subs.
*****
Yep. Come to think of it, Adventure Time did end the dark age of CN and brought forth a new age of cartoons. I mean can you imagine these shows out in the time of powerpuff girls, dexter's lab and ed edd and eddy?
Well these new shows would have been harder to pitch to the networks if they came out too early or around during 2004 and up
***** after Ben 10 shit started to fall due to exploitation, Spongebob Season 5 was the begining of dark era and the debut of Disney XD (doesn't really deserve the XD) hell not only cartoons were declining so was Music, Pro Wrestling, Economy then came the 2010's where cartoons and Pro Wrestling (WWE still PG :'( ) got better but not music >:(
"I feel really bad for John K."
This video aged great
"No decade is made of purely bad trends"
2016: made of purely bad trends
2017: We hope its gonna get better
Not purely, but there was a lot of shit in it.
2016 isn't a decade.
2016 is the worst year I’ve been in. My grandmother died
Good thing 4kids didn't dub panty and stocking
Same. I'm glad that 4Kids didn't dub Elfen Lied
Watch the video Stevey's robot pals (evangelion 4kids)
And thank god they didn't dub boku no pico
how would be albe to dub it anyway? 99% percent of the show would be censored anyways, because its a child porn. and i can just inmagine what their vocies sound like.... the kaguya imposter trap would be morgan freeman XC
i was talking about bnp
*Here's my opinion on the 2000s era of cartoons*
It wasn't perfect, but it was an improvement toward cartoon programming; both in it's creative style and quality.
SarahandAshley Agreed I still think the stuff in the early 2000-2006 are some of the best cartoons I've ever watched
szproductions1 For me, the best cartoons I've ever watched started around 2000-2005, and my interest came back around 2008.
My problems with the 2000's are from late 00's
at 5:23, I bet the nutshack is somewhere on this list.
I FUCKING KNEW IT
same lol
It's the Nutshack
It's even number 1
yeah
GRAND-DAD!...MISTUH EEENTER?!!
FLEENTSTONES?!?
Dear Pesky Memers,
Toby Fox and I have taken over Bedrock Town. Gilvasunner's our permenant guest at one of my 7 GRAND DADS. I dare you to find him if you can!
Three decades? Im gonna guess youre like 20 21 and not 30
Anthony Marchiondo I'm 22, but I've been alive during the 90's, the 2000's, and the 2010's.
TheMysteriousMrEnter for the uncle Albert looks like Ben Ravincolth
TheMysteriousMrEnter wow didn't expect you to be so close to my age. I was born in 94 and just turned 21, sadly i barely remember much of 90's cartoon's since i moved around a lot. But i look forward to when you get to the 90's to see if i get any nostalgic memories or just be like "wait....shit that's from my decade...sigh".
good luck though.
p.s gratz on 100k dude!
Oh cool I just turned 20 last month
nanalinda4 gonna be honest. i think it's the best they've ever done with scooby doo. cthulu tries to kill che guevera, the design is actually an improvement from the what's new scooby doo style, it get's darker as it goes along, scrappy was murdered, they decided to give it an actual over arcing story and they give a reason for scooby talking i would assume as a playful middle finger. i find it better than pretty much every incarnation of scooby doo because they decided to give it some flavor outside of, oh spooky hollywood monsters. god knows it's better than scooby and scrappy and the random ethinc kid from thirteen ghosts. all that show had going for it was vincent price.
Yea there weren't a lot of good animated shows in the 2000's....
At least we got Kim Possible!
:sigh:
i understand you're point. What's you're take on Danny Phantom?
Maggie Offutt It was one of Nickelodeon's better cartoons of the early 2000s (pre-Avatar). They did play with a few too many teen character cliches (the jerk jock, the Alpha bitch, and of course, the boy/girl best friends who hook up at the end), but it was...all right, overall.
Maggie Offutt Look up shows from 2000-2004 and very late 2000's for the good stuff
danny phantom, teen titans, uhhh invader zim
He should totes review an episode of Nutshack
No way. The comment section will be flooded by high quality video game rip memers from SiIvaGunner instead of what the episode was actually about.
***** What do you mean?
+Robert Ivey Like, for example, repeating the words IT'S THE NUTSHACK, over and over again, because the intro did it and that same intro appears repeatedly in high quality rips.
***** I'm sorry, I'm afraid I still don't quite understand...
+Robert Ivey Look up SiIvaGunner.
From 2000 to 2004, things were pretty good, but after that the quality of cartoons in general dropped hard. So I guess avatar, cat scratch, American dad, robot chicken, and camp lazlo just don’t exist.
The only thing that I can say about Drawn Together is that it helped inspire Panty and Stocking with Garterbelt, my favorite anime of 2010
BrandX Hell yeah. :D
Blaze Howard Yeah that story is hilarious. XD
Drawn Together was completely worth it, just for Panty and Stocking.
killerkidzz67
Yup. :D
The speech about John K sure aged well
17:25 why the fuck is buttercup in an australian shit cartoon
And Mina from Bunnicula.
God don't talk about that show
memethyst THANK GOD IM NOT THE ONLY ONE WHO THOUGHT THAT
The worst thing 4kids did was probably edit out what was probably Tails' most emotional moment in sonic X where he hesitates and breaks down before firing a cannon.
How the fuck would any station allow a cartoon MADE IN GOANIMATE?
If it was good, sure. But pixel pinky isn't...
OverworldTNTPig the animation it so bad it looks like it was made in goanimate. also there was that movie in Goanimate.
Happy 100,000, Mr. Enter. I'm glad that animation is improving since 2005, because it was in the shitter at that point.
***** Well that was off-topic
Backing out before I get involved with a flame. But I understand your opinion, dude. I'm not that ignorant as some others. :3
I love how he made bubbles Into a typical 13 year old teenager in 8th grade with that crossover with drawn together
I like this countdown and all............ but boy! Mr. Enter's talk about John K. here did NOT age well. Oof!
No, no it did not.
In fact I was cringing when I heard it.
