5 Celebrities Who "Ruined” Their Face with Plastic Surgery

Today I will be covering the topic of people who “ruined” their face with plastic surgery. I want to bring empathy and understanding to these people. The celebrities that I will cover are often the target of top 10 style videos that cover celebs who “Ruined” their face or career with surgery.
I also want to see what can be learned from their results and procedures. We can elan what made their results undesirable and why they look so different now from before.
This video is to show that even the people with access to the best surgeons and can pay top dollar, can still have a bad surgery, whether it was a mistake or just the surgeon having a hard time on their case. More money does not always mean a better outcome.
Celeb #1:
They got 2 nose jobs, 1 which was minor, and one to supposedly fix the first. This celeb felt they entered as a well known actress, but left unrecognizable. Their unique look was gone. The corrective surgery ended up making her even less recognizable. She even chose to get more procedures done after in various parts of her face. Sometimes the lesson is that there is no perfect look, and sometimes re-doing a surgery may not enhance your look, and could bring it back.
Celeb #2:
Celeb number 2 Has always had a cute look that I love. She had a girl next door, fresh appearance. She looked the same for most of her early adult life, but at some point she got a procedure that changed how her eyes looked which can change the look of one’s whole face. She even addressed it briefly in passing one time, which I feature in the video.
Celeb #3:
This is one that a lot of people are constantly talking about to me. This case is a culmination of a couple surgeries adding up to a very changed look. She started with soft features, and ended up with sharper jaw and cheeks. She also added and removed various implants over her career which had effects on its own. She also admitted to some interesting things which I address.
Celeb #4:
Unlike the previous 3 celebs, this is a man. They often get overlooked when they get procedures, as many people assume men do not get anything done. There was a blepharoplasty and brow lift that he got that were overdone and the surgeon may have been too aggressive in their changes. This is a tale of a well known surgeon choosing the final look based on personal preference rather than going with what the celeb wanted. A lesson that you should always stand up for the look you want.
Celeb #5:
The last celeb here made the celeb unrecognizable. This is a culmination of many procedures over and over, trying to re-do the same spots, which ended up with their face looking completely different from before. The surgeries on the nose and eyes are the ones that really made the biggest difference. In this case, there were some tragic parts of their life that led them to getting these surgeries, showing that not always is what we think. Nobody knows what goes on in some of these celebrities' private lives.
Overall we can learn some lessons from Celebrities and others who get various procedures and surgeries. Botox injections, Dermal fillers, Skin procedures, rhinoplasties, canthoplasty, blepharoplasties and more are common, tempting, and often encouraged in the world of Hollywood and celebrity circles. Some people are doing it for themselves, some for insecurity, some are pushed into surgeries by their spouses, agencies, managers, or friends. It does not matter if your surgeon is the most expensive, or if you have all the money in the world. Sometimes a surgery does not fit a face type, and sometimes a surgery does not turn out well, even with the “top” surgeon. One should always look into each doctor, what the specialize in, and the style they have in their niche.

Hey Lorry. I think your videos are great. The thing about Lil Kim is that she had stated in an interview back in the late 90's that her inclination towards plastic surgery was because she always wanted to look like the (white) Barbie dolls that were available to her that she played with as a child. And the fact that she was raised by her father and didn't have a relationship with her mother were cited as additional factors, as she lacked a black beauty role model in her life. And I'm sure that having an abusive boyfriend didn't help.
Lil Kim's plastic surgery is so disheartening, I can't imagine how much trauma she endured. She had a beauty that was very apparent and absolutely memorable. She had that pretty girl next door kind of look to her.

If you were to do a side by side comparison of how she looked before compared to now, you would never think it was the same woman at all just by looking. As a very dark skinned young woman I fully understand your comment unsure why it's hard for everyone else. I didn't grow up, and wake up once day and say I hate being dark or my skin. Society, and schoolmates, shoot some adult's made me feel insecure. It takes time but❤ ion see nobody but me as my standard of beauty
i think megan fox is also well on her way to not looking like herself anymore. saw her at the dolce and gabbana show, she looked like an inflated kim kardashian.
I saw a pic of her and MGK recently and had to look twice bc I thought she was Kim 🤯

Megan has stated publically that she struggles with her self esteem. women in this business have so much pressure on them to look a certain way, esp someone like Megan who is known as a "bombshell." i can't imagine the toll that takes on them mentally.
This sort of thing is horrible. I feel for these people, this is obviously not the outcome they wanted. But it's actually Courtney Cox and Renee Zellweger that scare me, as it is their "non-surgical" procedures that left them unrecognisable. It's a real lesson for us average Janes and Joes out there that any form of intervention can have very undesirable results.
I have empathy for acid attack victims that need to have surgery, to rebuild their melted features, they were innocent victims. The famous people knew, the risks involved and they have to live with the consequences of their choices, as we all do in this life
. Most people don't even need it, they'd have been better off using the plastic surgery money, on their mental health instead because most of them have body dysmorphia and that's classed as a mental illness in the DSM 5.0
I don’t think Zellweger has as as much damage to her face as Cox.
Some people with a lot of fat above their eyes have surgery because as they get older the area droops over their eyes and reduces their field of vision.

I think if Jennifer was not already famous with her original nose, the surgery she had would be generally considered a success and a great improvement. She’s still beautiful with the new nose, but in a very generic way.

Lil Kim's story behind her appearance is very sad, she was bullied for her black features, got surgery, got mocked, got surgery again, got physically abused by her partner, got surgery again.... I hate when people make fun of her for her looks.

I just hate that her daughter wii lave issues and won’t think she’s pretty because her mother rearranged her face, so how could she be pretty if her own mother hated the way she looked. Cosmetic surgery can’t change genetics. Kids look like the original you.
This video made me realize why hiding plastic surgery or cosmetic procedures is so damaging, people need to know the whole process, and the fact that one surgery may not be enough to achieve a specific look, the fact that you are changing features that suited your face better and that change is permanent .
Everyone that considers a cosmetic procedures should inform themselves so they don't regret it later

Renee Zellweger’s comment sent ice water down my spine. Not being in charge of your own body is frightening. I can’t imagine having someone have that kind of control over me. That’s going to bother me.
I wonder if she instead meant that changing her eyes' appearance wasn't intentional but rather a side effect of some other procedure or medical type event. I'm thinking of Linda Evangelista and the way a procedure she had resulted in the opposite effect (adding facial fat instead of removing it).
Even if not true in Renee’s case, forcing people to get plastic surgery is so common in the entertainment biz and definitely something we turn a blind eye to.
I find it likely that something weird happened in her case, because she seemed to be mostly conservative when it came to procedures to her face for a really long time, and then changed suddenly
My guess is that it was a manager who told her to get that done, or a director. Like "if you want this role, you need to get this procedure done" and so she did. Because honestly, work is work and sometimes we make sacrifices just to get that dream job.

Courteney Cox has always been heartbreaking to me. I remember seeing her in the first seasons of Friends and she not only had a breathtaking face but also i loved that she was so athletic, i just wanted to look like her. Then she started to loose weight, i have no idea why, honestly, because she's always been tiny. And then with the surgeries she just looked so different. I just can't imagine how much pressure she must've felt to change herself like that. She is literally one of the most beautiful women I've ever seen, i hate that she felt like she needed to change
She also wasn’t cookie cutter. The black hair and incredible blue eyes and her gorgeous small features… true natural beauty. Her face was so unique and stunning.
She truly was beautiful, it really is a crime how her face got so puffy because of all those procedures. I am happy for her that she recognized how bad it looked and instead of making it worse by getting even more procedures done she has chosen to go back to her own self. Every time I binge watch Friends it almost makes me cry how incredibly beautiful she was and how her face got so completely altered later on.
The first few years she was one of the most vibrantly-beautiful woman ever. Then she started getting far too skinny and her long, parted-in-the-middle hair, made her look even more haggard. It broke heart.

Ariana is on this route too. Also, have to say that Lorry, I just love & adore your humane & understanding approach towards people who were victims of bad surgery or made bad choices. A bad choice or few shouldn'r define them as people or their whole careers.
I think ariana is getting away with it because she's releasing content CONSTANTLY so we're always seeing her - small differences everytime you see them three times a week aren't as noticeable as a huge difference from when you saw them six months ago.

With Renée Zellweger, I'm starting to wonder if getting plastic surgery is a requirement in some Hollywood contracts. It could explain all the silence around plastic surgery in Hollywood and why only celebs like Kris Jenner admit to their facelifts etc.

No yes, you are absolutamente correct. Many actresses sometimes are asked to do something for themselves with the promise of the role pretty much. It’s very sad for sure but it explains why so many people do get it including men. Changing their noses and etc.

Very true. However, i think it might be an option that her manager told her that she would not be eligible for movie roles anymore if she didn't get something done to make her look less like her age
Is it possible that she had a procedure done to improve her vision - ie reverse drooping eyelids - and the surgeon overcorrected it? If she then rightly sued them and there is a non-disclosure agreement, she may not be able to say anything.

Lil Kim’s story made me cry. I was in an abusive relationship and my BDD was at its worst. Constantly thinking about plastic surgery bc I felt out of control in my life. So glad I didn’t have ANY money, or I would have been unrecognizable too 😭

Courtney Cox is such a gorgeous woman. Especially in her “Monica” era, just so perfectly beautiful. She’s an example of a person who was blessed enough to be born with a godly bone structure, also someone who literally needed no filler whatsoever. I’m glad she never got lip fillers, she looks great as of recently. Sometimes what you’re born with is your best look. Sometimes you don’t even need slight alterations, some people are just that lucky and blessed. Courtney Cox is definitely one of these people. Gorgeous.

I'd love to see you do Nicole Kidman. She's so beautiful and she's been around so long. She's clearly had a lot of work done over the years. I think her evolution has been fascinating. She's talked openly about the challenges of aging in Hollywood, how once she turned 40 the offers stopped coming in. It must have been really hard to know which procedures to have in order to be able to keep working.

I recently read something Courtney said about her fillers-she was talking about how a friend of hers had gotten filler and that the doctor made it look so natural. So Courtney decided to get some. Then another person was talking about a different doctor and how natural that doctor made clients look, so Courtney went to another doctor since it “looked so natural”. She kept going because their procedures “looked natural” until she realized she didn’t look natural anymore and had the filler dissolved. When I read it, it was a good reminder that the non invasive procedures can be just as addicting as traditional plastic surgeries.
A close friend had to have an eye lift/bleph because she was losing vision in one droopy, heavy eye. Her other eye was compensating and the lazy lid was preventing her eye from being instantly used. Post surgery, it was a huge success and took a few years off her face to boot 😊
Your thoughts on Kim are so sweet... I admit that I catch myself sometimes shaking my head at her for how her face has changed, but your comments made me realize we never know what these people are going through. You pointing out that plastic surgery can sometimes give you that sense of control you've lost really resonated with me, thanks for always being so kind and considerate!

Totally agree. I always thought I would get something done as I got older but this channel has totally changed my mind and do what I can unsurgically to look my best. I certainly don't begrudge others getting work done - it's just not for me. 🥰

I feel really bad for Lil’ Kim! People need to have wayyyyy more empathy for her! She’s an amazing musician, an amazing person as well as a fashion icon. People should focus on that, not her appearance!

She was the known for being pretty and chosen for her beauty. She wasn’t focused on her career. I’m not trying to victim blame her but she had an opportunity to be great but she chose to be toxic with loving men that didn’t love her. If you watched the documentary of how she was in love with biggie. He only seen her as an artist. He wrote her music and she was more dependent on him instead of trying to be her own thing and she wanted to be with him. She didn’t accept that that’s not where he was and they had horrible toxic relationship. I hate that she fell victim to women abuse but she should have went to therapy after biggie died so she can avoid dating evil men. She could of chose herself and love herself and maybe love would have came. There’s another message there besides colorism. She still had a spotlight and music connections.
I wonder if the Jennifer Gray case is a big reason why many celebrities get smaller plastic surgery interventions over time. By slowly morphing their features and avoiding certain procedures (like drastically altering the dorsal hump), the public isn't totally put off by a celebrity's "unfamiliar" face.
I’m glad you are bringing humanity and compassion to this topic. When you get plastic surgery, it can either go good or bad. The patient shouldn’t be shamed for an outcome that they can’t control.

I watched scream on Friday. It looks like it genuinely hurts whenever Courtney Cox tries to move her face.

@@briannalee1998 we all have insecurities. It’s called LIFE. Courtney Cox is so rich and lives a VERY charmed, comfortable, leisurely life. I do not feel “sad” for her. Save all of that empathy and compassion for people who are homeless, starving, in constant pain, grieving, dying, abused, sick, etc. Feel badly for burn victims and people who were born disfigured. But Courtney Cox? I’m sure she’s a fine person, but you are acting like she has struggled so much adversity.

I have PTSD and many people empathize with what I went through but you always have that person that says "yeah but at least it wasn't war" "I know someone who has it worse". I've experienced homelessness, food insecurity, abuse, and other traumas and I can still feel bad for Courtney Cox and others who had ANY struggle. She's still a human.

Lil Kim is heartbreaking. I thought she looked beautiful back in 1999 with her cute little heart shaped face but also the fact that she felt like she needed to lighten her skin that much is sad. Just a reminder that even people who seem super confident can carry major insecurities on the inside.
I definitely agree with you that Renée Zellwegger was insinuating that she did get work done, but it wasn’t her decision. It’s almost like she’s trying to say that someone forced her, like maybe her agent/manager or a member of her team.

I would love to see Carrie Underwood analyzed… she “fell” a few years back and now she barely looks like herself. Also Candace Cameron Bure - it’s really hard to see how her teenage face morphed into her modern day face!!
Carrie Underwood DID have plastic surgery because, if I remember correctly, she had a horrific fall that broke many bones in her face. It was completely necessary for her to have these procedures.
The facts I learned in this video: One, if you change your main features too much, you'll become unrecognizable. Two, the scariest procedures are the non-surgical ones because they're more accessible to people, leaving the impression of needing more the majority of the time.

A lot chinese go to South Korea to have plastic surgery ,but when they want to come back to China,they can't,because even one change(for example blepharoplasty) could make their faces unrecognizable and they had to change their passports.
He's not a super-famous actor (anymore at least) but Mickey Rourke is one of the ultimate male examples. He came up through the 80s but started looking very different from 1995 onwards fixing injuries from a short-lived boxing side-career (or so they say - I think some of it could've been vanity-related too).

I’m a huge Lil’ Kim fan. I like how you spoke about her. Not belittling her like some of these videos do when discussing her surgeries. You made it known about the abuse she endured and how that had a domino effect on her self esteem causing her addiction to plastic surgery.

Another great vid, Lorry! I love what you said about changing noses. Jennifer Gray did have a distinct nose that wasn't the generic Hollywood button nose perfection, but her nose made her face. She was so cute in Dirty Dancing and Ferris Beuller's and her nose was part of that cuteness and unique facial look that made her stand out as an actor.
True, it's so crazy to me how she looks so completely different to me, I think her nose brought so much character to her face. I remember she was doing a video remembering dirty Dancing and I think Patrick Swayze with her daughter and talking about it and her nose and how that affected her career and she was lamenting on how she regrets it, and wish she never did it. It really negatively impacted her career and basically ended it. She wasn't herself anymore, and as an actor, your face is everything.
This makes me so sad! Can any of these bad plastic surgeries can be fixed with another procedure? I love Courtney Cox, she was always so beautiful, and now all people talk about is how she looks. I know she got it because of insecurities. I always thought she was so beautiful, especially on Friends. I bet she would have aged beautifully and gracefully, wish we could have seen it.

There is always a risk with cosmetic procedures that it won’t turn out well. When I see this sort of thing on celebrities, I mostly feel resentment towards the entertainment industry for creating a culture with impossible appearance standards. It’s such a high pressure industry that people can be more likely to take things a step too far.

They have a choice to leave the industry. Beauty is your commodity and it's fleeting, so walk away gracefully or do character roles. Nothing wrong with that.
Lorry, I think the reason Renee might have used the wording she did is that she didn't want to come off as if she were shaming people who do make the choice to have cosmetic work done. She'd been accused of it, but didn't want to deny it in a way that sounds as though she was shaming or dismissing people who have had cosmetic procedures done. In a way, she was saying she hasn't made that choice, but she is free to any time she wants and it's okay if anybody else makes that choice to have it too. I think it was sensitive of diplomatic of her, instead of saying something defensive like "are you kidding?? I would NEVER have anything like that done to my face", which has been the tone other celebrities have taken in the past when accused.

Last night I played a dreadful game of taking a picture in my underwear, and picking apart what I would "fix" if I could afford it, and after a few mins I had quite the list 😳, when really I only ever wanted a rhinoplasty... one day lol. I feel you so hard on this - I personally found that the body neutrality movement was really helpful for the way i viewed my body. Instead of only focusing on the way it looks, i instead focus on what my body does for me - my skin may be a bit loose and jiggly, but it sure does hold all my squishy bits in place! It's not an overnight fix, and it takes time and effort to get to a place where you look at your body and don't immediately pick apart what you hate, but if you start small and go from there, like picking a body part you love (I personally started with my hands, bc i love the way they look and they're really capable and allow me to do all the things i love, like gardening and cooking and petting my cat), you'll get better at it in time.

I dont know how all these celebs are getting bad plastic surgery. They have all the money to go to the best for procedures, but a lot of them get terrible work done by the "best" docs. Or is it the doc thats afraid to tell the celeb a certain procedure wouldn't be ideal for them so they can be "plastic surgeon to the stars" ?🤔

Lil Kim is such a beautiful soul which shines through even to this day. She has made mistakes but she’s only human trying to navigate this world like the rest of us. I love her energy and her innate beauty- no amount of “bad” plastic surgery can take that from her.
It just seems that Renée Zellweger looked very different at one time from whatever cosmetic procedures she had done but seemed to have gone back to partially looking as we know her. I saw her in “Judy” and she looked phenomenal. Her body was incredible, too. A superbe actress.

Would love to see your take on Park Bom from 2NE1, she was too a very trouble girl suffering under the impossible korean beauty standards unfortunately, but I always loved her and her music, her talent and voice is just iconic.
Kim suffered a lot f physical abuse got her nose broken few times, her cheek bone broken and upper lip too! Kim in her peak was a goddess, also her career didn't end because of surgeries, she went to jail, stopped releasing music, then had a baby.
She NEVER said in any videos that her cheek bones were broken...girl stop🙄 Kim ONLY said her nose was broken...but over the years she continued to change her nose, face, wear makeup to make her skin look lighter, breast implants, butt shots. It's very OBVIOUS that she wanted to change her looks it's a decision that she made! Nothing wrong with that but she went overboard.

I was actually just recently looking for a video like this because I was genuinely interested in what must go wrong or too far for a celebrity (someone who can afford the "best" plastic surgeon!) to be left looking worse than before because, as you said, there's this strange misconception that celebrities deliberately get bad plastic surgery. Which makes 0 sense! and of course, all I found were top 10 lists of the worst celebrity plastic surgery failures that don't show any empathy at all or try to explain what might've gone wrong for them to look the way they do. So thank you for shining a light on this!
Kim was my icon - fierce, talented, and seemingly uber-confident. Her changes break my heart but made me determined to find the beauty within and deal with my trauma. Kim is still an icon and I wish her peace.
I rarely comment, but I always LOVE how you approach things and how we learn something in each video. This one is particularly interesting! It seems like being famous comes with the cost of having to be «freezed» in time. You can't change and you can't age...
Love that you always approach this with empathy. A lot of celebrities sadly also get bullied for their looks and might decide to get plastic surgery as a result. For example the Korean comedian and actress Lee Se-young apparently got a lot of horrible comments online about her looks so she decided to get plastic surgery. She looks great, and if she is happy I am happy for her.
However, I also felt it was so sad. I loved her in Reply 1988 partly because she looked like a normal teenager/early 20s girl. We need a wider range of looks on screen but I also understand it must be really hard to be under scrutiny like that.

I love the message of this video. In terms of Renee Zellweger, I'm sure she has had work done, but in an interview she also mentioned that she wasn't healthy for a long time and wasn't taking care of herself, and that she's glad people think she looks different because she's happier. This is purely speculation, but perhaps she struggled with an eating disorder or substance use disorder, both of which can give your face a bloated appearance. Maybe that is at least partly why she looks so different. My face de-puffed so much when I got off substances. I kind of look like a different person.

People used to joke about her puffy face, that she was bulimic. I always found that horrifying, if she was bulimic that’s not funny. I’m not 100% on if she had that problem or not because she had a ton of facial fat (which is a great thing!) before the procedure.

It’s a bummer. So many celebrities were beautiful from the very start and risked that beauty to appease others. I wish I could see all celebrities with procedures if they had just aged naturally.
Please check Jessica Chastain too. She had those slightly hooded eyes that were really a key feature of her face and had the unfortunate idea to have a brow lift that made her eyes lose their character and hollow on the upper eyelid.

I feel really bad for Courteney Cox ... she was so gorgeous (and still is), but now that she dissolved her fillers and is aging naturally, I can't tell if this is how she would've looked, or ... I don't even really know what I'm trying to say, but I love her so much and I know she openly regrets getting the enhancements/surgery.
