You should make a bait thats looks like a small bass with a crank bait in its mouth, alot of bass will chase other bass to get try and take the bait from them. Make it weirdly shaped so it get a nice erratic action.

Just this summer I caught a 20” large mouth and while fighting it a musky attacked it and almost bit the tail end of it off.
I've never even heard of Roman Made until Marling kicked their ass.

Well before this I never heard of Roman made baits. Now I wouldn’t even consider buying a bait from them because they act like children. If they played it cool it would be a different story.

@@dereknapier836 it was totally their right to do it, but we are free to decide if it was the correct thing to do. To me it makes them look a bit like assholes. The whole concept seems silly to me, but I own Rolex and other overpriced watches, so whatever floats your boat. I don’t have watches at the bottom of many lakes, though. I can only image the stress of snagging with one of these silly things.

You aren’t selling someone else’s bait, so it’s not illegal. How many different companies make jerk baits, crank baits, plastic worms, etc.
Either way, you are allowed to sell other people's products. As long as you don't claim them as your own. When you purchase an item, that item is your property and you are able to sell it.
AceOfBlades yes, I should have clarified that in my comment. Stores sell other people’s products all the time. Yeah, like you said, it’s the misrepresentation of the product that is the issue.
The Weapon Collection If hand made baits are anything like art (I am an artist) He is in the clear as he has significantly altered the paint scheme and you can’t trade mark or copyright the natural shape of a fish. But I’m not a lawyer and I am not going to put a stamp on authenticity on what I am saying here. Lol

Guro Hyena I’m with Guro on this. The Lawyers would have to prove that their design is new and unique to them and that marling is making an exact copy and profiting from it. Since their design is not unique, and Marling is not making an exact copy, nor is he claiming it his own, Roman doesn’t have a case. No judge would set that precedent or every CZcams that ever diy anything would be fair game for lawsuit. There’s no way he is negatively affecting their sales anymore than someone buying the real thing and reviewing it.
Suggestion for when you’re sanding the lexan fin, a lot of woodworkers use this trick, stick painters tape to the block of wood and another on the fin, put a small amount of super glue on the the painters tape then stick together, essential making double sided painters tape. When you’re done you pull apart and peel off the painters tape, there is no glue residue and you don’t have to worry about gluing the actual pieces together

I'm mainly a trout guy and I'm always amazed by the price of some of these bass lures. I mean they're beautiful works of art, but in this case, $950 is pretty much what i've spent over the years on all my gear in total including my little kayak lol.
Maybe this has been requested before, but a Pokémon lure like a Magikarp or a Feebas would look really nice, I wonder if you could catch a fish with one of them

A suggestion: try make dolphin/whale bait swimbait, and instead of moving sideways back joint, try making it moving up and down, like how the real whale and dolphin does. Maybe it won't work, but who knows? Im curious to see. Also secondly do the magikarp bait too. Love all of your videos dude.

Sometimes other people don't like seeing other people have success, especially big companies. Besides the tail part is the only one upside down, not the segment itself and the motion of it.
It would work but in order 2 do that it has to float back up 2 the surface faster than normal so it would have 2 be a light piece of wood with the capability 2 float up 2 the surface quick enough but yet sink to the bottom so it have 2 be a rip and stop kind of a bait give it a thought...
I have watched every single one of your videos and love it. Im 14 and love making baits as well. i started talking to myself the way you talk to the camera when I make my baits. Only difference is you are way better and I'm not hairy.

If all of the people who will ever buy from them already know about them, and we assume that very few people ever buy more than one $250 lure in their life, then I guess they'll be going out of business any day now. Of course, if 0.1% of the 50k people who have heard of them, thanks to Mr. Marling, were to make novel purchases, that would be 50 new customers. And if 10k of those 50k told a specific fishing friend they knew might be interested in that sort of thing, who knows?
Hey I'm a welder and I've thought it would be cool to make smaller metal bait, you can grind and shape the metal with air power dremmels and such, but the big thing would be to use a reverse lip to make it swim up idk if it would swim up or not but I figured it might work
He tried the reverse and it didnt work very well.

James Smith he doesn’t need to prove it with that lure, you nob. Just put two twisted wire joints between two blocks of whatever wood he’s using and pull them apart with a scale or known weights.

Here’s a thought. Do a bait in that size, but in walleye design, and fish it up at Pleasant Creek Lake. That lake has a good walleye population, and the Northern and Muskie frequently feed on them.
