Make a catfish swim bait that’s really heavy so it sits on the bottom and put hooks on the top so it doesn’t snag as much

Seeing the process of making the test tank would be interesting, I initially subscribed for the wooden real you were making, would love to so more variety of stuff whilst the fishing is slowing down. Maybe making your own rod?

Ok so here in Minnesota we currently have some ice on our ponds, so how about an ice fishing jig?
When a pastry chef molds chocolates they often fill the mold full and let it cool slightly, then pour out the chocolate before its sets fully leaving a layer of chocolate on in inside of the mold to be filled later. Could you use the same process to create "filled" looking soft-plastic baits?
Shooting an outer color and then tipping the mold to pour the plastic back into the measuring cup before shooting a filling layer after the shell cools???
I’ve seen him do that with his handmade silicone molds... but not with the aluminum molds
thats definitely a process ive seen both marling baits and worlds worst fishing do, i think its called the capsule method

Whatever it’s called, it’s an open mold technique. I think Nate has one open-top aluminum mold and the rest he did with homemade silicone molds...

I love the inject to catch videos because i usually don't have time to start and finish a whole lure video, but these always pop up at the right time
Watching you create these molds is satisfying, so many possibilities to create something epic. The eyes are a nice touch also.
The polish guys use special soft plastic airbrush paint and powders to get that look on their plastics. Very cool and difficult process. They also make their molds out real fish, which is really cool!

An idea for your lure action winter water tank. Maybe you could engineer some sort of moving water tank rather than a standing water tank. It could be a lot smaller but would require a pump to move the water and some sort of water dispersion grid to create a laminar flow. Yes it would not be the easiest but it would allow you to just clip on a lure and watch its action with the camera not having to move. It would also be a lot smaller and you could adjust the speed of the water.
Excited for the test tank.
Aquarium filters could work to simulate moving through water. Most have variable jet settings and i think some have pulse settings...might work for jiggin?

Dude the only tool I have is a knife, and you have inspired me to start making my own baits with good results, I made a jerk bait and a popper already and I’m proud of them even tho they might not be as good as yours, they still work:)

Awesome mold. You should do a purple/silver mixture for the top half and a clear/blue flake for the bottom. Works great for jerkbaits that I paint
Great mold, and awesome video. Yeah the sprue will cook off on the griddle and mess up the nose. I try to take it out before or as soon as the sprue starts to rise.

When it becomes to cold to fish all the bait you make you should do a vote to see what bait catches the most fish and then when it becomes warm again spend a whole day fishing using each bait. That would be cool
