Matt, is there some kind of a valve on the lid? It seems like the suction from drinking through the hose would cause the bottle to collapse and/or create some kind of a vacuum lock.

@@337WHITE there is a vent and one-way valve built in to the adapter - air can enter the bottle as you drink, but water is inhibited from coming out!

I'm looking at the Ozark trail 36 oz Yeti copy. Do you have a kit for it?

Looks like an awesome idea. I’m currently using a smart water bottle connected to my pack strap with a carabiner/ para cord contraption. (fairly simple design) I added a piece of shock cord to keep it from flopping around. Works ok, but a little cumbersome to use.

Smart water bottle user. Many times I don’t drink enough because it’s hard to get water bottle in and out. Many times I end up just carrying the bottle.

I currently use the Smart water bottle tucked away in the side pocket. This would make hiking a lot easier in the fact that I wouldn’t have to stop hiking to fumble with trying to get my water out when a drink is needed. 5:51

  • @SlonesWildernessExpeditions

Seems like a worthy product, I've been looking into alternatives to my current water bladder. This seems like a very convenient system, even when I use my bladder, I typically have a Smart bottle tucked away as well.

I use smart water bottles. A system like this would probably mean that I would stay better hydrated. It’s such a pain to get the bottles in and out while I am wearing the pack I tend to avoid drinking. Thanks for the review.

Planning to get one of these. I do not like carrying a bladder (have several-platypus, camelback & cnoc) but just don't care for bladders in my pack. I always carry smartwater bottles with the inconvenience of reaching behind me to grab. I want to be able to keep track of the amount of water I have consumed which is difficult with bladder until empty. Love this idea and plan to get one. Question about the insulation for tube. Do you know the lowest temp it would protect tube from freezing? I am looking at Mt Kilimanjaro early next year and I heard common complaint is bladder tube freezing. Love the video. Very informative-especially love the add-on section.

    • @onebottlehydration1865
      @onebottlehydration1865 Před rokem

Good question! It functions pretty much the same as a bladder system - the tube is spare parts from a hydration bladder supplier!
However there are several key differences - since it can be attached to an insulated stainless steel bottle like a Hydro Flask, the bottle won't lose heat as quickly as a bladder would lose heat. Room-temperature water would probably stay room temperature for a while. I include many different colors of insulating tube cover which can help prevent freezing.
Also - I have two customers that went up Kilimanjaro in 2021!

I use pterodactyl arms with Smart water bottles, not a fan of bladders but do like the ease of hydration tube. I also like being able to easily see water levels.

Got an Osprey pack with the "easy reach" water bottle holders. But, as a larger than average man, I find them difficult to actually reach and put back in. I thought about using a bladder, but those are a total pain to fill and get back into the backpack. This would be perfect for my use!

  • @FOLLOWINGWALKERSWORLD

Hey guys! I like the fact it attaches to a bottle. Never was a fan of a bladder. 👍

I use a water bladder on my day pack, but on my bigger overnighter pack I just use smart water bottles. They are hard to reach, so I’d be open to trying this. I too don’t use a bladder in my big backpack because I worry about it soaking all my stuff…
    Lol
