Thank you for a very detailed amplifier explanation video! I am an electronic novice. The problem with my 2004 93 Saab Arc. is my radio station reception stopped receiving station clearly. I tried cleaning contact in C pillar amp/antenna to no avail (no steady improvement). My radio also sometimes doesn't change stations when I choose different pre-set buttons. Maybe because poor radio reception. My turn signal sound works and my radio has a display. In the past I spilled water in my rear footwell. What do I need to repair? Thanks again.
Hi Gina, I understand that your Saab 9-3 has poor radio reception. Cleaning the contacts at the antenna amplifier, didn't help. The next step, is to pull out the ACC/MCC unit. Then, remove the Main unit, radio(353). And you have to check, if the coaxial cable is connected to the radio. If not problem solved. The second step, is to check continuity between the both ends(radio & amp) of coaxial cable. Then, check the continuity between (trigger voltage) pin 13 PK (k8b) radio plug and the antenna amplifier. Note: between pin 13 and the antenna amplifier, there is connector H8-17 (LOCATION: under the right A-pillar).
Good video. Does amplifire need programming if I need to change it ?
The answer to your question, is in my latest video "How To Replace SAAB 9-3 Amplifier".
My Keyfob desynced and I have no key, had to smash into the car to resync and start etc, noticed I have no sound from radio, reverse sensor, indicators, the battery drained down to about 15%. convertible water leak in the back has ruined my amp.
i have the 93, 2008 with the BOSE System! i cant see it under the seat! do you know where it is located? and how many AMP the car has!? the Car has 11 in total!
(ONE 3.5" Dash Center)
(TWO 2.5" each dash corner)
(TWO 6" in each front door)
(TWO 5.25" on each rear door)
(TWO 6x9" / TWO 3.5" rear deck) i think they are all 2ohm
i replaced all the speakers with new ones same size but they are 4ohm, and now only the front deck sounds normal regular volume! all the other speakers sound very low.
10 channel Bose amplifier(11 speakers total), at rear left wheel housing. Changing the speaker resistance, it could effect the volume. If you still have the old speakers, you can compare.
Hello SaabMaster, I own a 2000 Saab 9-5 Aero. I don’t believe I have óptica speakers…after installing a jvc aftermarket radio, the sound coming from the speakers is very minimal even at full volume. I took out my amplifier and noticed corrosion on the side. Could my amplifier be bad since I’m only getting very low volume?
It was my amplifier after all. Thanks for the video 🤓
Thanks for the update.👍
@@saabmastertech5852 thank you again, very insightful explanation.
@@eacbank7977how do you install an aftermarket radio without messing up the safety features?
This is the “amp1” and it has 3 speaker the third on the top of the dashboard (center)
Yes, it is the AMP1 that amplifies and distributes sound to the front door speakers and the center speaker on the dashboard. 🙂👍
