- The Top Three types of Japanese beef are Kobe beef, Matsusaka beef, and Omi beef. We've already done a video on Kobe, so how does Omi beef compare? We traveled from Tokyo to Otsu so we can taste this delicious, creamy wagyu, and to let you know if it's good or not.

I'm early, which is rare, so just wanted to say hello to Simon, Martina, and all the Nasties! I'm a frequent viewer, but I don't comment much, but I'd really like to start being more active in this community. Simon & Martina have helped me so much through these last couple years, I've had two surgeries and am going back for testing after months of relapse tomorrow. Thank you for helping me through a hard time. I've been sick for 6 months and completely lost all my appetite, and willing to eat. I lost about 16 pounds and became quite a bit under weight and went from 70 pounds to 54 pounds.
You guys helped me a lot, and also helped me get the interest in food again... I'm still trying to gain weight, but already have gotten good results.
I'm still sick but getting better everyday, today was actually the first day where I have been feeling normal, and feeling I'm closer to the top of the ladder.
Tho I'm still trying to make my way up the ladder and getting further and further everyday

I started to view your videos just a couple of months and noticed you guys are masters of aiming the spotlight on niche Japanese food.
For example you made a video about how you love Coco curry; which wouldn't be expected from people born outside Japan.
And you made a video about Izakaya. This is more probable but still could be seen niche.
And on this video you featured Omi beef. Thats a surprise to me. Even to Japanese people, there must be few who would count ohmi as one of three prestigious wagyu.
I think Omi deserves to be but in general people dont know it except food/gourmet lovers.
I like your uniqueness in what JP food to feature so much that no day passes without your videos.
