You can see how much Pete respects Dan by how he just sits there and listens the whole time. Great stuff
Please have him back. That was a wealth of knowledge.
Pete you gotta ask Dan about his 900 beltless conventional deadlift!!
I second this, always watch that clip before a heavy deadlift.
What’s there to ask? Lol
Yep 2 of my favourite OG's right here. Cant wait!
Dan can go on and on for 15min explanations on why he does things the way he does haha
We need part 2 Pete!
I got into the sport right around the time that the backyard meet of the century occurred. You guys were two of the most exciting lifters at that meet. Can’t tell you how gratifying it is to listen to you two talk together on a podcast now a few years down the road.
Great interview, It's good to see Dan still around and still putting up serious numbers. Felt like there was a lot of knowledge dropped in this one too.
Loving these OG podcasts Pete. I started powerlifting in 2012 and competed up to 2017 I just recently did a competition for the first time in 5 years and I can't believe the powerlifters of today don't know these greats. Dan Green, zahir, lillibridge, malanachev, Chris Duffin, you, George Leeman! It's crazy
Please more of this with Dan. Could listen for hours!
For wrestling there was The Rock and John Cena. In Powerlifting it’s you guys . I started powerlifting because of y’all . Thanks for the video Pete !
This is going to be awesome 💪🏾
Thank you so much for this Pete, and Dan for taking the time and sharing what he knows
Honestly Pete, one of the great interviews of all time. Being able to tap into the mind of one of the greatest strength athletes ever was a true pleasure to listen to. I love Dan’s no bull shit approach to training. Thanks Pete
Yes please have him back on. So much insight and good info from a man that doesnt get the attention he deserves. I remember loving Dave Tate chats with Dan but otherwise there isnt much about him talking training and stuff. Pete gives a lot of room for guest to talk too so you get to hear what he actually wants to say.
Anyways, awesome, want more :D
Awesome interview. Been looking forward to new Dan Green. Wish him all of the best!!
Thanks a lot for this Interviews! As a upcoming lifter i can extract so much information from this Interviews
this was pure gold. Dan is a great guy. bring him back in near future
You can talk about who was/is the greatest power lifter of all time, but at least in terms of who is the most fun to watch, Dan is #1.
Dan was my favorite lifter growing up. Great interview, can't wait for the next one.
So many great takeaways from this that I will utilize in my own programming. Can’t wait for the comeback meet.
Such a goated interview i had to re watch
Dan is a wealth of knowledge. Never knew he was this educated on the minutiae of training. Amazing!
Amazing podcast, learned a ton and can’t wait to apply to my personal training! Thanks Pete!
Thanks for both this is very good inside look to Dan Green training.
Whenever I listen to Dan, I always get something really good out of it. His style of training just makes sense.
This was awesome!!!! Please do this again!!!
Great podcast man, I'm glad to hear Dan puts a lot of emphasis on the front squat. Just recently started programming them in!
definitely looking forward to round 2!!
it’s great to see some of the OG’s.
throwing it right back! Great to see Dan still killing it
Soooo good! Please do this again!
Thanks for the priceless info Dan the man.
Wow! Dropping some serious knowledge. I grabbed a notebook and started writing things down.
Dan is such a nice guy.. Unbelievable !! Please bring him back again and thank u so much for letting him speak. God bless you Dan ❤
I could listen to Dan talk about lifting forever. Just a wealth of knowledge and wisdom. I met him and trained at his gym in 2021 and he’s just a super nice cool dude IRL too.
Up, golden quality interview
I wanna see dan at 242 drop into the hole with a grand, would be one of the coolest things ever to see
If he’s attempting a grand I recon 275, such a legend, I don’t think he needs any more injuries especially not from cutting if he doesn’t need to.
Can’t wait to watch this at work!
This is such a great interview
Really awesome video.
You tapped a deep well there, brother. Great stuff.
i feel i owe Dan some money for all the information that just dropped. sweet podcast bro.
Excellent conversation. Green is that dude. 🔥
An absolute legend 👏
We need a part 2 !
Arnold was the guy that got me into lifting. Dan Green showed me that you can be strong and JACKED. That’s what got me into powerlifting
Two legends
This is gold
This was a very interesting talk 👌🏻
That was cool, cant wait for part 2 and maybe part 3👍.
Maybe you could get for example, John Hack, one of the Lilliebridges, yourself and Dan Green and have like a round table chat on powerlifting. That would be entertaining and something different😉
This podcast was awesome. I feel like Dan doesn’t do many of these so was a real treat for many. Would be awesome to hear from Kevin Oak and or Tee Cummins. Tee was a monster back in the day. That 848(?) squat in wraps at 220 was crazy.
All the Best Dan
Solid !
Mr Rubish
1. Thank you for the thoughtful questions and facilitating the conversation.
2. Thanks for the time stamps! I'm sure that I'll want to refer to something you or Mr Green said, so the time stamps will come in handy.
Yesss finally
So much shit i wanna try now. Fun fact seeing the 900 cage pull on youtube right when it came out introduced me into wanting to powerlift and not bodybuild anymore. Who knew id find out the hard way you have to still body build a little lol!
Dan dropped so many training jewels here. Pete just let him go. Great interview.
Great podcast. 👍. Dan seems super smart....but keeps things simple.
o man great podcast
YES.
need the 2nd part asap
When is the second podcast coming? 😅
Question for round 2 regarding prioritizing and programming workouts. What number of priority movements can you put into a workout before they aren't priorities any more. What % of a workout should be priorities? What movements that are not priorities would you be hesitant to remove from a program while still focusing on priorities.
Haven't viewed in awhile. The David goggins profile and washer dryer poster are awesome. 😅😂
Pushups are also superior to benchpress to develop the serratus anterior. Pushups is the only thing that ever made my serratus sore.
did the next call ever happen? still want to watch it!
I think one of the big questions comes to chicken/egg of assistance lifts, such as what Dan talked about with front squats.
Was that progress on his back squat really led by the front squat or did he just generally get a better squat? I think it's not as black and white as some think.
Pete, your neck is getting bigger again. Love seeing you healthy.
Yes it is. 👍
Dan is such a stud
Pete you’re looking healthy brother!
As far as rounding back STRENGHT , I do my full workout then 100 tire flips with pull-ups in between and jump ropes 5 rounds total tire weighs 300 lbs. I think it helped me a ton
Man, he is a fountain of information.
We get another episode with the legend too 🤙
Be very interested to hear more about how he's going to try and overcome the nerve damage to his tricep like Joe Sullivan did. I've had a similar problem for about three years myself.
You can either worry or do what you can. Dan "cool daddy" Green
Da BOSS
Dropping knowledge, more knowledge and more knowledge...hold on mountain dew break..ok back to dropping knowledge 😅
Time to hammer those deficit deadlifts.
Dang Dan is super cool
Best!
Like in advance crew 👍
Aw hell yeah.
Wow. Just wind him up and let him go. Amazing, non-stop info.
Dang Dan Greens still trying to go hard in the paint
Dan huge but Pete still got the neck haha
Lmao "i dont have really long arms, i have kind of standard length arms" thats the best way i ever heard anybody say average lol ima tell my wife my dick is standard sized
Just another comment and a Like for the algo.
Stay shredded brahs (and brahettes), we're all gonna make it.
Peace.

There was a lot of knowledge in this, but his voice is veeeery monotone. Made it tough to listen at times...
