I know both 1 and 2 had them, but I especially love the button prompts in 3! "Makes waves!" "Twister time!" "Stretch your arm!" "Who's thirsty?" It's a little detail, but I still love it.
The whole game has so much personality in everything. I love it

@@sparky111000 Almost every special has one. It will appear in bottom center of the screen whenever you activate a special that requires further input (usually ZR or ZL).

Splatoon 3 found the perfect balance between the broken Splatoon 1 specials and too team dependent Splatoon 2 ones. In my opinion its a big step up from the previous games.
Interesting that even though Tenta Missiles didnt really get nerfed you hardly see it because of the obscure weapons it's on.
@@johndasalty111 it had a minor nerf actually in spla2n u can just scroll over enemies and it locks on them even if u look away in splat3 u have to aim it on them if u look away then it wont lock on to them anymore
@@richyrich3004 that isn't true, you need to be looking at them for it to lock on in splatoon 2.

I miss the Kraken special 😢💕It was so fun to use.. Also fun when your opponent krakens at the same time as you so you just bounce off each other to assert dominance LOL

I honestly feel so bad for the people who didn’t get to experience Splatoon 1. It’s broken specials, the graphics that didn’t age all that well, the untextured ink, the hackers…the memories I have from it. In my opinion nothing will ever beat how chaotic and broken the Splatoon 1 specials were, they’re such gems
I'm new to Splatoon (relatively... I have 350 hours on Splat 3 already haha) and I so regret not picking it up sooner as a kid. I would've loved it.
Splatoon 1 was such a gem. The only hackers I ever saw encountered thankfully was thr out of bounds glitchers.
Splatoon 1 is so nostalgic to me I really miss everything about that game but sadly my Wii U and all my other games along with it were stolen so I can’t revisit those memories anymore.
I mean honestly I don’t think the graphics aged THAT bad. For an early WiiU game I’d say it still holds up pretty well 🤷♂️
@@TheRealTact 🥺 mine were all stolen too. Had em all packed up in their original Splatoon 1 Wii U box but I went out of town and my siblings had friends over that swiped it and my PS4. I'd totally play it again, I miss the charm Splat 1 had
The tacticooler also gives you an instant respawn, and saves your entire special meter on death
Only if you're killed while it's powering you up though, right?

This combined with special power up which makes the effects last longer makes this the most op Special in the game.
they nerfed the tacticooler to only give you 85% of your special back upon death but can be countered by having two subs of special saver to get it back up to almost 100%, also while under the effect of the soda you have maximum super jump speed

Fun fact, there are a total of 4 test ranges in Splatoon 3, with two of them being accessable no matter your Internet situation. The lobby, Salmon run, the shoal, and the test range.
I'm pretty sure the Shoal's and Sheldon's test ranges are the same, but there are unique test ranges, and I think that's cool.
@@iamtheboom6490 the test range that you get by going to Sheldon and the shoal are the same, however you can only access the one Sheldon provides by testing bought equipment offline. The shoal and the test range are both different musically and aesthetically. Shoal is calmer imo

I like that they added a test range in Salmon Run. Dummies are cute and we can test the new feature of throwing eggs
I'm actually so surprised the Kraken didn't return in 3. The Kraken jump is so visually parallel to the squid rolling and the new movement in 3 would make it so much more usable

they might be adding it in as one of the new specials, who knows, i feel like if they gave it ink armor it would be a good ground based zip caster

Disappointed that Bomb Rush didn’t return, but I can see why they removed Kraken. Yes, it could’ve been rebalanced, but what’s the point of doing all the effort when you have Ultra Stamp, which is basically just a better, much more fair special similar to Kraken?

Even though Splat 1’s Specials were ridiculously OP, they were still extremely fun to use. I’m hoping the Kraken returns at some point, whether apart of multiplayer or as a DLC only special.

Splatoon 1 specials will always be my favorite. The kraken, bubbler, ink strike, ecolunacher, killer whale, rapid bombs of any kind.
Really, everything was broken to some extend but it all was so fun, perhaps it's the nostalgia talking but I dont think well ever get the same anymore
@@trottinettesauvage I didn't find it broken. I found it to quite enjoyable and fun. Splatoon 2 speicals werent as much fun. I may just be bais or old schooled but the bubbler and kraken were just so much fun to use. Especially when two or more bubblers and krakens went at each other! Or when a killer whale blasted the bubbler/kraken off the edge 🤣🤣

Getting a multikill with Booyah Bomb is soooo satisfying, but I really love the Ink Storm, it’s perfect area control
it's very satisfying to get a Wipeout while using the ink vac during the last 30 seconds...
I love how Splatoon 2 added the melody of Bomb Rush Blush on all of the bomb launchers 😊💝💕
God I miss Kraken and Killer wail, Glad they kinda brought Killer wail back tho with the 5.1

I really miss the original Killer Wail. It was unbalanced but that was the fun. Kind of got jealous when Splatoon 3 final boss used it or when Pearl used it in Octo Expansion.

Seeing these specials over the years makes me feel like I'm reliving the whole Splatoon series.
I thought they didn’t really change the graphics from 2 to 3, but now I actually see the differences when compare almost side to side like this.
It doesn't help that the Splatoon 3 bits are in some of the worst lit parts
But yeah, 3 is on the same console, so most of the differences are ones in the style of the game and improved UI and user experience, which of course a video like this can't really demonstrate

Splashdown is in the game, although its only in the Single player Campaign

Fun fact: the drink machine special can also be used to revive more faster if you are killed while having the effect. Very useful in my opinion

Fun fact, in splatoon 2 when you use any special that has to do with launching any bombs, a little Bomb Rush Blush tune plays :)) obviously you can’t hear it during online battles, but you can hear it in this video
I'm surprised 3 doesn't have any bomb rushes. I guess it would break the game given how powerful they made bombs.
Yeah you would get an easy wipeout with those in splatoon 3
I'm so glad they didn't add bomb rushes, they're such a copout of a special. Sure you get a lot of bombs, but you can get that permanently by running loads of sub saver (and you have a real special too)
The Zipcaster is really fun in story mode, but I always get overwhelmed by the fast movement when I’m in a battle. I prefer the original inkzooka way better, or maybe I should just practice aiming with the trizooka
exactly! and you often get stuck or try to figure out where you're going too long and get killed. It's the only reason i don't use octobrush more
I miss the Inkstrike. It's pretty much a "nuke anywhere" button.
Also note that holding or pressing L fires a different type of shot from the crab tank!

I’m obsessed with the crab tank right now. That cannon shot has ridiculous range
one of my favorite things to do is counter it with the zipcaster so I can get behind them and one shot them with my beloved chainsaw
Personally, I was disappointed when I realized the splashdown does not exist in splatoon 3 (at least for now), but the crab special is just insane!!! I’ve never killed as many players with the splashdown as I did with the crab tank!!! :o

I honestly miss the Kracken special. It was a bit boring, but still really fun. Also the current triple inkstrike just feels weak with its extremely limited range. Honestly though, Splatoon 3’s specials are ALL really good.
I wish they brought it back but maybe balanced it somehow. Maybe make it so you can damage it or something?

I’m stubborn and still miss firing off Splat1’s Killer Wail straight up into the sky at the end of matches. It was a personal ritual of mine which I dearly miss. Though I did love how broken it was in Splat Zones, and ESPECIALLY Tower Control lol XD, you could shoot it along the Tower’s path to ensure some distance would be made.

I just realized something about the normal weapons. In splatoon 1 they look like mass produced kids toys. In splatoon 2 they look like high quality models made for competitive fighting. In splatoon 3 they look homemade but still high quality, like they were hand built by a professional

I always liked ink armor for it's funny death glare, it not having any damage effects also makes it perfect for squid parties.

I miss the kraken. I’ve always played kraken roller and they didn’t even bring it back for the third game even though they said all weapons are returning. I just use splat roller now but it’s not the same :(
They said all weapons were returning, not all super weapons.
The Kraken was cut because it was broken as shit and just plain unfun to fight.
@@Robbie_Haruna I was talking about the roller, not the super. The super was already cut in 2 and they had the dumb hamster ball thing instead. They could've brought back the kraken roller with a different special like 2 did, but they didn't so not all weapons returned.
@@averagetetoenjoyer The Krak-on Splat Roller was functionally identical to the Splat Roller.
Every weapon did return, stuff like the Kensa Octobrush and the Krak-on Splat Roller were variants that performed identically to the base forms just with a different Sub and Special set (which are being shuffled around anyway.)

I might be the only one to miss splashdown... but man did I really love hitting that panick button
As much as bomb rush was one of the simpler specials, I miss it in Splatoon 3. If they really wanted to go with the theme of modifying weapons to be balanced and more chaotic, they should have made a super bomb or something, where you throw a projectile and get the effect of 5 subweapons (think cluster bombs)
Probably wouldn't have worked but it would've been neat

1のスペシャルは誰でも使えるかつどれも捨てスペじゃないのが良かった。個人的に1番好きだった。
2はスペシャルの使い所を考えないと打開が難しいと感じたのと弱いものは弱く強いものは強いとハッキリした感じだった。
3も2と同様かなぁ
今のところ捨てスペはないと感じるけど今後変わるかもだからコメントできない
メガホンとか絶対弱いと思ってたけどステージによっては刺さるのが最高だった

The best part about Splatoon 3 is how creative they got with specials, compared to Splatoon 2 having five different specials that were just: bombs, but more!

Notice how the test range has been the same place but changed s little, splatoon 1 is the start splatoon 2 is the same place but with a top thingy and another for moving targets and it’s more enclosed, fully I should say I think, splatoon 3 is like the same but enclosed differently w the wals and I think they removed some parts and added ramps and such

In my opinion the biggest disappointment in this comparison is that in Splatoon 3 your hair doesn’t do what it did in the first two when your meter is full
First they took away the agent's level start arm wiggles and now the hair wiggles

Probably because they introduced more realistic hair jiggle physics in normal play.
It can't just be me but splatoon 3 feels so much more like splatoon 1 espically with the chaos and the chaotic specials espically sind inkstrike is just times 3 now lol
