Why am I watching this, I don't even know what a cadenza is
well, you've learnt something new that day. congrats
It’s a passage that the composer doesn’t show a number above the notes or no bar lines and the composer often makes the notes small. It’s played freely.
Paul your technique is quite amazing. Thanks for being a teacher to us all.
A dream would come true if you, Paul, played us the Hungarian Rhapsody #2!
The little part he played was enough make me have goosebumps. Just beautiful.
@@alexisphilip Where can i find that?
ME Cuber 4:53
I just wanted to say, this and the other cadenza have haunted me for years ever since I started trying to learn this piece... and your tutorials for them have helped considerably in overcoming this mountain for me. So thank you!
THANK YOU SO MUCH! I've had trouble on this for too long and it doesn't help I don't have a teacher to help me. This makes a huge difference.
Thanks for your lesson Paul! I've been trying to learn this cadenza. Liszt without cadenzas just isn't the same.
Man, this is advanced! I'll get there one day... :)
I hope you've improved since then.
Not that bad it’s pretty easy the second cadenza is a challenge though
These have to be the best videos for finite detail/tutoring for classical piano on CZcams
Dear Sir Paul Barton. you're one in a million remarkably talented artist. I love very very much.
Paul, thank you SO MUCH for this knowledeable work you have shared with us! I found this incredibly helpful for practicing Cadenza one!
Thank you! This video will definitely help me to learn this song faster!
Thank you Paul for this Lesson! This is one of my favourite Classical pieces.Your video has helped me a lot as a keyboard player.Greetings from Jamaica!
Your Videos are absolutely amazing! I am learning this piece as well as a Beethoven Piano sonata (No 5 Diploma standard grade.) I will deferentially keep watching this video for advice! Thank you Paul!
This is absolutely top drawer. He is superb.
Thank you Paul! This is helping me tremendously
Your work help me a lot, great work. I am from Hong Kong.
Hi Paul, Your videos and explanations are very well done. I really enjoy your work. Joseph from France .
your piano, sir, sounds like a dream
I'm still working on Debussy Arabesque No. 1, but this piece is my idol. I've had the sheet music for a while but can't come close to this yet.
Very helpful
Thank You!
Thanks for the video, i don't use the same fingering that you used but ill try it for sure. I'm using for the bass line ( 3-4, 2-5, 2-4, 1-4 ...etc )
Thank's a lot Mr Barton, please, re-upload your Beethoven complete piano sonatas. I love them
I am actually learning this piece at the moment (in the final stage of perfection and trying to play it faster). I hope this helps. :)
ottima spiegazione
I don’t use 4. I use 1235 😅 I just struggle with my 4th finger due to distance. Just seems like I’m straining my hand.
Paul, I can’t imagine how many hours.. years it took for you to get to this level. You’re a great pianist and your hard work pays off for you. I wish I could sight read at your level.
You are a machine . Blimey
I know ist a bit late. But next time say Liebesträume with the first ie pronounced like in thief.
Liebe means love and Träume dreams, in case you didnt know. Greetings from Germany, I am a big fan
Thank you Paul . Hope to see soon a virtuoso etude is played by your daughter.
on cadenza 1, on my manuscript the L.H. fingering is showing as 5th finger and 1st, I find it difficult to get legatto, any tips how to improve?(I can play the cadenza, but more like 6 or 7 times out of 10)
Hungarian Rhapsody tease? is there a video of you playing the song?
I liked the 4th way the best.
How can I know which arpeggios works better on a piece. Paul just play 2 in A#...
Please play the hungarian rhapsody no 2 😭😭
those scales though, I can barely play at 240bpm
Hello dear paul, I live in germany and am working on this piece now and have problom with how to exercise this cadenza and making my fingers faster..I listened to u carefully, but couldn't understand ur accent, please help me and write the steps that I should take in order for me to read and understand correctly .( for example:1- play every 4 notes with Metronom speed 60,,,,)..thank u so much and waiting for ur soon reply...
Do you guys play the cadenza with pedal? If so where do you change the pedal on? I can't get it to sound legato without the pedal
He recommends in another video to focus a lot on keeping the left hand legato, which is easier since you're only playing one note at a time. If you keep that legato, it can give a legato feeling to the whole run.
It's technically marked in the music as being played without pedal, but I hear different approaches in performance. Definitely don't over-pedal or it loses definition.
what metranome do u use
Pena que é só aula. Queria ouvir a música...E nada.😒😁 De qqer forma gratidão!
Nice i got a composition that has that tetrachord , now i know that liszt used it here too xD
