American Fiction Movie Review | A Delightfully Uncomfortable Satire

My review of the debut feature of Cord Jefferson American Fiction starring Jeffrey Wright, Sterling K Bown, Issa Rae, Adam Brody and Erika Alexander. The film is nominated for 5 Academy awards: Best Actor, Supporting Actor, Adapted Screenplay, Score and Best Picture.
It made Oscars history to have two Black men from the same firm be nominated in Lead and Supporting Actor together. And it's the first Best Picture nominee to feature the term "Oscar Bait" in the screenplay.

As always you give some of the best reviews. While I did enjoy it, as the TIFF winner, I went into it with too high expectations and wanted a bit more. 8/10 for me.
Having said that, it did very well on Oscar nominations morning, and some people have it in their top 5!!
I remember you gave us your favorite films of the year but have you ranked the Best Picture nominees? I think we would all enjoy that!

The movie was good, however too many narratives were being pushed smh.. Like most of Hollywood these days..
