- Peter Ash is best known as Coronation’s Street’s Paul Foreman who married Weatherfield vicar Billy earlier this month. Viewers are watching the progression of Paul’s Motor Neurone Disease. He has the fatal, rapidly progressing disease that affects the brain and spinal cord. Peter is joined by Sam Hayden Harler, who is suffering from the same type of MND and was diagnosed aged 35 - the same age as Peter’s character. Sam, who also has a husband, helps Peter with the way he depicts the progression of MND. It’s also on Sam’s bucket list to raise awareness of MND on National TV!

Life can be so cruel, we have no control ❤️
Will be a very sad day when Paul leaves the cobbles, Peter Ash has been a fantastic actor and I am sure many of us will miss when he goes, he has been fantastic portraying someone with MND. This was a very good interview. ❤
I was diagnosed in March. Had symptoms for over a year now. Weakness in my left arm and leg.
