Such a good actor! He’s portraying it well
My grandma has suffered from Parkinson’s for the past 20 or so years. She’s essentially in the final stages now and we have to put thickener in her drinks, or else she will aspirate. She chokes easily on her food and we have to be very mindful of what we feed her. She is wheelchair-bound and needs 24-hour care from my mum and aunt who both work full time as well. x
Some of these comments might be intended as jokes however there will be people watching this in similar situation with a loved one and can be seriously offended. God forbid it happens to anyone even if they spend their time writing malicious things online about the very subject.

My uncle passed away from MND in 2015. He lived for about a year and a half. He was in he was only in his 50’s, but he lived a great life, serving in the household cavalry xx

Yes, it's a storyline. These things have to be approached and the public needs to see how they are dealt with, not it's not easy, even for someone acting the relevant part. If TV doesn't show these devastating conditions and the reality of what happens, then most people will just ignore symptoms and not get the help they need.

How realistic is all this, There was a ex footballer on my local news last night, who has had MND for 2 years, and is still going for runs, Paul has had MND what a year
its a soap, its not gonna be going on for that long. Plus, if they dragged a storyline for that long, everyone would complain

It varies depending on the type of MND you have some kill you quicker than others when I was a kid our vicar got MND and was dead within the year

There are 5 subtypes of MND and they all have various life expectancies, deterioration rates and presentations. They all look very different to each other; it’s likely they have two different diagnoses.
Brilliant performance from Paul Ashford it must have been very hard for him to do some of the scenes

But when i got my top teeth taken off and had to eat soft foods for awhile. I ate baby food, only liked the fruit ones. Yogurt, pudding.

I just feel that someday Paul is gonna die in the show and it’s gonna be a terrible situation in the show hopefully he recovers it’s very unlikely tho poor man..
He can't recover from MND.
Sadly MND isn’t something that can be recovered from. It’s a muscle wasting disease and gradually affects all muscles including as we are seen here swallowing and speech. Eventually he won’t be able to speak at all.

Both Billy and Todd are going to be devastated when Paul dies. I want them to be strong as friends, as they are going to need the comfort and love of and from each other. Billy is going to be completely lost when Paul dies, he will need a true friend.
I've never liked bertie even now even she's trying to play the caring mother , she hasn't really been much of a mother to Paul at all or gemma, Paul needs be around Billy, Todd, gemma and summer more

I get where you're coming from but you gotta remember as well that you're not the one going through what Billy and Summer are... I know they're fictional characters but it does happen in real life, people get overwhelmed and overreact instantly to something difficult... I'm not speaking on behalf of EVERYONE but still, it happens...
