  • Winner Winner Chicken Dinner on the Blackstone E-Series Electric Griddle. Super easy weeknight dinner dish you can put together in no time.
    Ingredients: 3-5 boneless chicken thighs, thawed, dried and seasoned with Montreal Chicken seasoning for at least 1 hour. 2 cups small potatoes (yellow, gold, red, etc... will work) sliced into quarter size pieces. 1 cup baby carrots, 1 cup sliced onions. PRO TIP (pre-cook your potatoes for 5 minutes in the microwave).
    Instructions: Mix together veggies with 1 Tbs olive oil and add seasoning. 1 tsp salt, 1 tsp pepper, 1 tsp oregano, 1 tsp garlic powder, 1 tsp onion powder. Add to pre-heated griddle and steam with some water for 5 minutes at 375 with glass lid covered. Check after 5 minutes and repeat for another 5 minutes. Move to the side, turn up heat to 450 and add chicken (room temperature) to sear for 5 minutes. Turn to other side and sear for another 5 minutes at 450. At this point everything should be pretty much done. Internal temp of chicken should be at least 165 degrees, and potatoes/carrots should be fork tender (softer is better). If not steam more until all is done. Enjoy!!!

    Appreciate the honesty on your trials and tribulations in your cooking shows. You've always done that. (Potatoes)....that looked delish.

    Another great meal. I too like the small yellow potatoes but they do take longer to cook. Think I will try them in the pressure cooker and then sear them on the grill.

      I need to get me one of those pressure cookers. My roommate in college used to use one all the time and he came out with some great stuff... Thanks Guy!!!

    I have had my griddle for a few weeks... Made some CLT sandwiches yesterday with homemade mayo. CLT = Chicken, Lettuce and Tomato.
    I took some large and thick chicken breast, laid it out flat, and carefully sliced the chicken breast into thin fillets. I turned one chicken breast into three thin chicken breasts. I then covered with Saran Wrap and beat them with a chef's mallet, the smooth side of the mallet. Then marinated in Ken's Zesty Italian dressing, let sit in the fridge for an hour in a one gallon Zip-Lock bag..
    Set the griddle at 350, let it get good and hot, threw the chicken on, and in roughly 5 minutes we were finished! Tender and tasty! Two of these breasts filleted like this, six pieces fit perfectly on the griddle, made four sandwiches.

Forever a fan of your channel brother :-) I hope you and your family have a wonderful Thanksgiving Day and holiday season and I wish not but great things for your CZcams channel in 2022 :-)

    Don’t use any type of Pam or cooking spray on grill… It will destroy it… Rub down in olive oil or your choice of oil before cooking..

    Very nice. Looked super delicious. I have a simple question for ya buddy..... I just ordered one of these E-Series and got it last week. Still haven't unboxed it yet for good reasons, but was just curious of what the total time of cook this one was for you altogether?? Thanks Brother.
    Cheers! 🍺

    • @cookingwithbigcat
      @cookingwithbigcat  Před 3 lety +1

      Hey Chili Dog!! I would say total time was about 20-25 minutes. Would have been quicker if I gave the potatoes a head start in the micro...

  • @barb678
    @barb678 Před 3 lety +1

    What temp

    • @cookingwithbigcat
      @cookingwithbigcat  Před 3 lety

      Thanks Barbara, I tried to put the temp in the video. I usually put the potatoes on 400ish until they are almost done. Then I crank up the heat to 450 for the chicken to give them that great color for a few minutes on each side. Once I get the color I drop the heat back down to 350ish until the internal temp of the chicken is 165-175 (165 minimum). You end up with juicy chicken that has the great color on the outside but is not dry and the veggies are done as well. In this case I had to take the chicken off to finish the potatoes which took another 5 minutes or so. I didn't want to dry out the chicken. Priority 1 is the chicken, then finish the veggies as needed.
