Hey guys THANKS for reversing the rotation! I can sleep better now 😅.
Me too.
Yup!!
Yes, I thought the same thing when Mike was tightening the lock nut the same way as the blade rotation, - but then put it down to maybe the idiosyncrasies of video filming giving viewers a false (reverse) look.... - phew!
@@andymack5093 - Well, we were right. Mike caught his mistake and corrected it in the next video. Seeing as these videos are several years old (OK, maybe weeks) before Mr. Perfect posts them, I guess we'll have to give him the benefit of the doubt and say he did find his own mistake. Regardless, I still think the candy stripe paint job Aaron wants is the correct way to go. That black/green doesn't do it justice. Besides, having MBTS drive it up to C&C Equipment and have Kevin work his magic would have resulted in some fantastic videos with the second string as the stars.
Add an upside down "V" just under the end of the boom where the gearbox is mounted that sticks to maybe 4" to 6" below the blade. It will capture the limb and keep it from trying to shoot away from the blade when cutting it. It also helps to "guide" the limb towards the center of the blade if you're positioning is a little off. Maybe 1" or 1.5" square steel tube should do it.
No guard needed, but maybe a transportation boot to protect the blade when moving it 👍
The best most frightening thing to come from someone’s garage that is actually useful. 😊
I agree with mbts the top part should be bright yellow to be seen when cutting in the trees
Just paint the blade fluorescent yellow.
The first thing I noticed was the blade was flipped to the correct correlation with the nut. This was not a secret. Lol keep the vids coming. You two are more entertaining than 95% of what's on tv
Same.
95% way too nice 99.5%
got my coffee, I been sitting here waiting for this... I would give this a 10 out of 10, this build was bad ass!
12 out of 10 it was very entertaining.
Thanks
Wow...that saw worked a whole lot better than I thought it would. I have to say you two have created a work of art. If you could rotate the saw you would be able to vertically limb both sides of a tree and horizontally section the tree without leaving the cab...maybe a 24v motor with reduction and chain drive! I love your channel...my wife says Dirt Perfect and Letsdig18 are like my soap operas...I have to watch them every night!
And me…..👍👍😂😂
@@retrodad6864 I watch the videos in the morning I wish there was a video everyday it's what motivates me to go out and do something that and a cup of coffee. lol
He can rotate the saw. For that he just needs to add a cylinder to push on the brake, will let the mast turn at will freely until release the brake
I’d call it LARS. Long A** Reach Saw. Awesome build! Great ingenuity! Kudos to you both!
The Dirt Perfect Tirminator. I would get a cage for debris on the cab. Stuff is getting really sketchy and super fun.
If that contraption had a rubber mounted camera close to the blade and a screen mounted high in the cab so when you are looking up you could have 1 eye on the screen and 1 eye on wot you can actually see it could be used with alot of precision, just a thought . Nice work great video
Great job painting Mr Dirt Perfect
The “Limb Reaper””
Brilliant.😂
Two things guys
1) Don't forget the cotter pin, or as I was told doing my apprenticeship, the split pin.
2) Mike, be careful with Temu if you used your credit/debit card, a friend of mine got something from Temu, but the credit card details got used by someone else. I personally use a pre paid credit card, issued by MasterCard when I go on Ebay, that way I have a limit, $100. When it's empty you cannot top it up. Brilliant build by the way.
"Derby Bladesaw Massacre"
Have a contest to name the attachment 😎
I will offer the name "Buzz"
Loved seeing it in action. Cuts beautiful. This has been a great series and I enjoyed it every step of the way. Time to put the Dirt Perfect logo on the boom. Good name, "The Limbinator ".
The scary factor has not diminished! The way it yeeted that one branch toward you, you may want to ensure the front window is closed. That is one big cutting machine! What a wonderful job of creation. You both need to pat yourselves on the back for this.
If have looked at equipment doing forestry work and or demolition work they have protective bars and or screens over all the windows
I bet they all have fire extinguishers too
@@dongrimm2572 Comment generator if you have no fire extinguisher showing in the holder.
.
Great work Mike and Aaron can't wait to see the next build
Trim Perfect, of course!
Looks like Sawmageddon out there! Nicely done fella’s
I’m convinced there is nothing you and MBTS cannot build. Together you guys are a well oiled team and the way you two jab at each other is comical, it makes good content. Love the channel
Awesome job building the saw Mr Dirt Perfect and MBTS
You could have painted a spiral on the blade, and hypnotised the trees.
A rotary air compressor would be a nice addition to your shop. There are really quiet ones but some are noisy.
You buying 😁
Very impressive. Well worth the watch. All you need now is the DP sticker.
Without a doubt, you have more than achieved your aim what a creation well done.
That's the best part of working together,,,, You have a witness for those one of kind stories. (the bird )
OK, really great design - excellent assembly - two really good coats of paint - all it really needs now is a dirt perfect decal. Congratulations!
Good job on the paint job, and on protecting your lungs by wearing a respirator, but make sure to use a combination filter cartridge that includes an organic vapor cartridge in addition to the pink pancake P100 particulate filter you did wear. That will protect your lungs from the solvents in the paint too.
I like how you use materials you have left over from other jobs. Using up what you already paid for makes perfect sense. They call that Yankee ingenuity. Good video series enjoyed it. How about ( old saw tooth)
DP, hey that's not John Deere, its a Oh Deere!!!
Nice!! I see what you did there!
Jolly Green ??
Some of my favorite videos are of yall building stuff from sketch to reality. NICE work.
Being able to set different angles on that is just awesome! You could even take a tree down from the top if you needed to!
Excellent! Tree Rex. 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
This video is really a cut above!! The, Limbinator is a great name!!
lol thanks
Slice and Dice. Loved this series.
Perfect name for it. Slice and dice!
Thanks
I have to say Mike that is a thing of beauty and you are quite the painter I must admit it I'm impressed very impressed on all of it and man behind the scenes there he is a hell of a welder You guys make a great team
This has been an awesome build. Love it
31.44 nearly lost my life 🤣😂 "Forrest Stumper "
Awesome piece of work you two. Thanks for sharing.
It reminds me of the old style Buzz Saws.
Call it Buzz Buddy
Bubba Buzz
Call it simply "Buzz" !
Another nice build you 2 did !! Can hardly wait for the next project.
Cheers, Ard
A FEW CUTS FROM PERFECT
Good morning DP and MBtS. I like the color and I think you should call it Forest because it cuts trees and rounds out the trio with Lt. Dan and Bubba Dump.
And.. need to make Aaron's roller Jenny! 😂
Paint adds a factory look to any thing especially steel coming out of a two man shop. Just add some JD yellow to the rotator lock handle & you're ready to go limbinator some limbs.
Hopefully tree limbs.
Wow! Awesome job! Well thought out and great fab work. Congratulations.
Nice! How about calling it the "Butter Knife". Cuts like Butter!
Masterpiece of engineering DP/Aaron well done loved all the videos on this build
Thanks
ELIMBINATOR. Great series of videos boys. Always enjoyable. Thanks for posting. 🇬🇧👍👍👍
Good morning, dirt, perfect, March 28th. Time 7:01 AM.
Ten foot up in the air - Fooey ! The one I had here (have picture) was a 100' saw. Trimming red oaks above 2-Phase power service to the ranch. I had prior to that, taken out two massive oaks - A live oak 28" in diameter that split in an ice storm. and a 20" Red Oak that was dropping limbs on us and a neighbor. After I took mine out, they took the sister tree out of their back yard. Homes move in next door to the ranch. Rats. Primer will help it last and last. A lot of rubbing from trees will abrade the boom.
Pretty dang cool guys. Love it when a plan in the head comes to reality
The fact you have rotation in the boom means at some point your going to have that control of the cut by hydraulic control of the blade angle will mean less repositioning of the machine to get a safe cut or good position of cut ….Great Build
Did yall see Clint’s latest video, a helicopter dropped off a trimmer for cutting right-a-ways! Like pipelines and high lines! That trimmer had about 6-10 saw blades on it! It was cool Mike, take a look at Clint’s channel! You talk about small drive shaft tube and flimsy looking! Check it out, I’m going to look up some videos on those cutters!
Those cutters are used extensively here in WA State. They do a good enough job for what they are used for, but the cuts aren't pretty or neat. There is a lot of movement because it is hanging from a helicopter. But when your trying to clear limbs from high voltage power transmission lines in the middle of the Cascade mountains, you probably don't care about neat.
@@mikel9567 wow, true!👌🏻👍🏻👍🏻
That wasn't a drive shaft it was the support tube and to keep it stable. IT had a gas engine on the inside to power the saw blades.
Awesome! You could easily triple your money on it! Great idea on reversing the lines! And, great video! Thanks Mike & Aaron! Lee
It's surprising just how precise and accurate your test run turned out. It sure went threw that hickory in a hurry. Not sure what you are going to name this new attachment the "Simon Saw" Good video Mike love the home made stuff.
I’m not cold, I just like long sleeves. Love it
Great build and a lot of fun watching you guys work. Can't wait to see Chris's reaction..
The next thing to do is make two heavy gage metal saw horses!!!
Mike uses those rickety saw horses as a "Comment generator" and it works. I just hope no one gets hurt when they finally break!
😁
good morning from good ole Missouri, and i absolutely love the videos keep up the amazing work.
What an amazing outcome for this project! The paint scheme of black and green was "Dirt Perfect" especially the added specs of green paint on the black paint !
I'd guess @AWD is on the right track for naming this attachment, but I'd try " Tree limb N ator". ( us Humans have limbs too)
Once it's finished think about putting disassembly instruction mounted or painted on it.
Pretty nice piece of kit…, loved this video series.
Thank you gentlemen.
I love it, I'm thinking calling it limb out deluxe. Looks like you might have another winner there. Was much less flexible than I thought it would be.
That thing is impressive DP. You and Aaron deserve to be very proud for producing something that awesome from mostly scrap. You guys still amaze me and keep me laughing. Cudos guys. Love your channel and your videos Mike. 😆👍
Compared to others I watched, this one is a beast! Plus it rotates! Great job!
Thanks
The New Attachment looks awesome. Congrats to both you and Aaron on the great and impressive build, all form scraps, and the dang thing works! Hey, you both forgot the DIRT PERFECT STICKER... Hopefully you will attach that later.
Good morning DP and MSTS, Love the channel!!!
Great idea and great execution. Best video series I have seen.
Enjoyed this build keep up the awesome videos
Well, it worked much better than you thought. Nicely done guys.
Mike and Aaron amazing build! Thanks for sharing! Kevin
Thanks
The “Green Reaper”
That is awesome
The ( Limb Zilla ) If you are going to add tubbing for the hoses, put a tube on both sides this way you won't be stretching the other hose. great video as always Mike and Aaron. See you on the next video and project
Finally. Cant wait to see it in action.
Great job welding MBTS
This is what I've been waiting on, good morning DP and Aaron
Pretty neat contraption. One thing I might have done differently is instead of a circular blade, I might have seen if I could attach a chain saw guide bar. The drive output would have to be a chain sprocket. It would give you the ability to cut a greater width by easily changing the bar. The advantage of which would be the easy ability to replace the cutting bits much more affordably, and easily sharpen it. That circular blade has got to be very costly, while chain saw chains are cheap (and easily sharpened). You could easily change out the bar/chain to a length you want. The bar two mounting bolts would allow you to tension the chain. The difficult part would be to design a method to oil it. You could use hydraulic fluid for that, but would need a way to knock down pressure so it just dribbled out into the bar oiling port. Where the bar mounts would have to have a hole drilled that would line up with the oiling port on the bar with a hydraulic line fitting on the other side of the mount. Maybe a tee off the drive hydraulic line with a valve you can barely crack open. Then you would also have to occasionally add to the machine tank after use to replenish what was used. Maybe down the road if the blade gets ruined. The circular blade did get hung up a couple times. A drooping limb could bend the blade. I would cut from top down only to avoid pinching/binding that could destroy your blade.
i onder if you can leave the excavator on the lowboy 1 guy driving the other trimming the roadside for the municipality - might get to make some good money in order to pay clint to finally fix and finish Lt Dan
LT. Dan with luck will be sold to help get younger people in to the trades. $100k to the skill USA would do great thing.
I completely enjoyed that build series. It's gonna be fun watching you two putting the limb reeper to work also😊
Nice work on that beast. The Limbinator
Like your skill Mike and Aaron and it work too and whote next ok saw horses . next .
Perfect as always!♥️
Great video Mr Dirt Perfect and MBTS
Good to See You Fella’s
How much fun is that. Working with your best friend and tinkering in the garage! Awesome build I think you could get C&C to mass produce your blue print.
Now that things a weapon!😃😃😃
@AWDJR was on track. "Elimbinator" patent has been applied for. I hope the use time exceeds the build time. Great fabricators!
I knew I was in trouble watching y'all paint, when I started huffing and puffing.
That green paint dried in my nose and had to change the oxygen tube on my breathin machine.
Looks good guys.
Great job boys you do good work. Enjoy watching your videos.👍
DP it is a beautiful piece of equipment, and it seems to work just fine. But it needs a couple more “little “ things. With all the work you put into this project you forgot the most important thing- - - some DIRT PERFECT decals ! Great work, and I hope it serves you well.
Nicely done.
I second Limb Reaper. Sounds awesome!!!
This has been a fun build
to follow, it's always satisfying that moment when you know that it's
going to actually work., build me one please but smaller for my 45 HP tractor 😁
Enjoyed this build. Awesome job you two, like the color, but more (saw) so, how well it works.
Mike, You need to go out to the hardware stores more often, that size washer hasn't been five cents for the last few years (Thank you, Brandon!). Where oh where is the DP sticker?!? Maybe you need to get a line of 'Almost DP' stickers, as well, for the welded projects, so you guys can provide signature for Aaron's skill and contributions and we can rightly appreciate. Thank you both!!!😁
He is showing his age. Five what?
That is a beautiful, well designed and executed piece of equipment. I would have painted the boom yellow so it would show up against the green trees, but I'm red green color blind.
lol, 😂 Mike should be ashamed to put a rusty washer! 🤣😂🤣😂 I knew you wouldn’t hear the end of that Mike!🤣😂🤣
Awaiting Logger Wade commentary ... but I sure like it !
I think you need a channel iron over the hydraulic lines, Looks Great
I was thinking of hard lines to the rotating part just incase the lines were to get snagged on a limb. Other than that I love it.
Green Reaper
Congratulations Mike and Aaron! Awesome saw that you've built and it works great! Keep on designing and fabricating your ingenious inventions.
Looks great! You guys are skilled innovation-neers! 😇
