Wow. That was amazing. It was cool to go backstage at a traditional church. Just the climb up there would be enough to persuade automation. Unfortunately, with that automation, we abandoned the tower. Sadly, we are quickly abandoning the entire classic church look. I like your grandpa's approach. He found a way to modernize the process while respecting a century of tradition. We need more of that.

  • @SusanBuckingham-ut2ez

Amazing! Our old church had a funeral bell also. Most everyone died in their 80s and it seemed to ring FOREVER! Pity the person who rang it and had to keep track of the dongs! After 100 yrs, the floor weakened and nobody could climb up there. They hired a company to come in and take down the bells and they sit outfront of the new church now. Grandpa was a wizard with his mechanical abilities, you def inherited his genes and thought processes. Thanks for sharing this with us! This was an excellent video. I don’t know, if you know it, i’m sure you do…, but it is a special deed, and noble act that you are performing in fixing that clock. I hope you have a person picked out to train, and carry out this work when you are no longer able to.

Awesome cool video Dirt Perfect and what a beautiful church. Let me share a bit of my own family history - my great great grandfather, Thomas Woodward, was the manager of John Whitehurst 3rd clock and watch making business in Derby, Derbyshire, England. John willed Thomas his business and as the Woodward family lived with John in Cherry St Derby, he willed Rhoda Woodward, my 2x great grandmother many items of silver and linen. Their son and my great grandfather trained as a brassfounder with the business, however when all had died, John Whitehurst Woodward migrated to Australia. So this video had me enthralled and loved every second of it. Thank you.
