I wish I had a fraction of your mechanical skills. Great job.

You’re doing it right my friend. Doing any job the right way takes time. It’s evident that the previous owner did the shortcuts. It’s interesting watching you go through it. We’re all rooting for you to get it running as well.

Interesting what you tried on the fuel tanks. Many years ago a friend painted his car yellow and before it dried waved an acetylene torch over it allowing the black soot to fall on the paint. When dry put many coats of clear on. Was truly spectacular. Cheers from down under under. under.

I just bought a 79 fxs. It’s great to watch you work on your bike at the same time I’m working on mine. I love the level of detail that you are giving. My next task is timing of my electronic ignition.

Nice! I'm sure you'll get the ignition licked, glad to hear of another bike getting back on the road

    Killer idea with the torch

I got the idea from some similar acetylene torch smoke paint jobs I've seen on gassers over the years. I may end up doing the whole bike like that!

Thanks! I've seen it on old Gasser drag cars before so figured I would try it

10:15 is the main reason that I watch videos such as yours. Problem solving! That is an excellent idea that would never have occured to me.

Don't worry about how long it takes. Doing it right takes time. Looking forward to more videos on it. I like that flame idea for your tanks. Going to try that myself.

Doing it right takes time and money, in the case of nose cone shovels always too much money.

What I dont like is the exposed wiring, especialy underneath the tank you should have some extra protection

Good one, thanks for posting! People love using those automotive crimp connectors without even any shrink tubing, I hate them.

Yup, that's just a recipe for disaster! And the scotch locks, don't get me started on them...

I should've had Kenneth catch it. One of those "crap I wasn't thinking" moments. Live and learn.
