- In this video, I got new wheels and tires installed on my 2019 Tacoma. I purchased the Method Wheels from their website, linked below. I received the wheels in only 3-4 days after buying them online. I purchased the lug nuts from 4Wheel Parts. Luckily, they had them in stock on the day I got the tires.
I purchased the tires from Big O Tires. I called them in the morning to ask about stock and they drove to their warehouse to picked them up for me the same day. I showed up around 3pm, they started around 4:30, and I was out of there by 5:30. They were extremely busy when I arrived so I am really grateful that they were able to squeeze me in all while giving amazing customer service.

See that’s what I’m talkin about! Better than stock but not much bigger than the stock setup! Perfect!
Bro you’re one of my favorite Tacoma youtubers. Very chill and extremely thorough videos! Love the vibe bro
Thank you! I appreciate the support! Check out @js.yota on Instagram
Been following your builds , and I like what you are doing . Giving me a lot of good ideas .
Thank you I appreciate the support! Keep checking back. I will be posting my suspension install videos soon
Q: what’s the offset on the wheels?
Just ordered the exact same things! Method 703 Beadgrips in Gloss Titanium and 285/70R17 KO2s. Hope there’s no rubbing off road with a 2.5” lift!
Super clean build! Just followed you on IG.
Thank you!
That bronco tho
🔥
Good work!
Thank you!
Very nice combo!
What width are your rims? 17x9? Or 17x8.5?
Getting the same set up for my Tacoma except except running Falken Wildpeak AT3 in a E Load for weight. New Four Wheel camper and Deaver stage 3 springs to help. Waiting on parts before Sibi can do their thing. Looks like you went to the Big O in Tustin?
Enjoy your vids. Just got method 701 wrapped in 285 ko2s, Bilstein 6112 front, 5160 rears, ome medium leafs today. After driving it a couple of hours I’ve heard light grinding noise when I turned left into a drive way incline. Another instance, when I quickly pulled forward, steering wheel right, & reversed. Seems to be coming from front driver side both instances. Any suggestions to troubleshoot this minimal rubbing? Already removed mud flaps, setting at 5/6 clip for 3” lift. Haven’t got the wheels aligned yet, since install shop said to do it after 200mi. Don’t want to gouge or damage anything, been itching to take this config Offroad. Guessing ko2 threads are thick & has slight issues when suspension compresses. Did you do any trimming or cutting to mitigate rubbing? Thanks in advance.
So what width and offset did you go with.... I'm looking at 17x9 with a -12 offset. I'm running TRD pro wheels with a 1" spacer and I'm wanting to get rid of the spacer. I worried about the tire rubbing on the control arm.
Did you have to put on the hub centric rings that came with the methods? Or was it fine?
Great video! Jesse, did the Method wheels not come with their own lug nuts?
The method wheels did NOT come with lug nuts. They had the option to add inn lug nuts at check out but they were sold out.
Just got a call. Weirdest thing but it was your Tacoma. Wanted to let ya know it wanted those mud flaps removed.
Lol 😂 that was the first thing after filming this video!!! Thank you
Was that a -12 offset?
Just bought a set of these tires for my truck…did u have problems gettin them to balance and not shake
Love the look how is the ride now? How much lift do you have?
Thank you! The ride is great! I have. 3” lift
Nice setup. What is your load rating on tires? I have Nitto Ridge Grapplers 285/70/17 Load rating E. Getting sick of the stiffness. Wanting some BFG Ko2 285 with C rating LMK
These are load rating C and they are great
Did you have to lift your truck fit the tires to fit well?? How much did you pay the wheels??
Yes my Tacoma is lifted and this helped fit the tires better. I still rub on road and more off road with 285s tho. I plan to do a cab mount chop or cab mount relocation kit to fit the 285s and eventually 35s. How did I pay the wheels? I bought them on method race wheels website. They shipped them very fast less than 2 weeks
How’s those mud flaps doing ?
I took them off the next day!
To get them wheels n tires on there did you have to chop anything so there is no rubbing?
Not yet
I have just removed the mid guards. I rub a little on road and more Offroad with 285 no chopping
I see you went with BFG.
How well did they balance out ?
I’ve been told by a few tire installers it takes a lot of weight to balance out. They said you might find 1 in 40 tires to balance out
I’ve had a couple sets in the past , and it took 18-30 oz a tire to balance out
They are a good looking tire
I’ve tried pro comps . They did well .
I’m currently on Toyo A/T . Second set , and so far they are doing really good
Please don’t think I’m saying you did a bad choice of tires . Was just curious if BFG has changed
@@peteniemela9900 just had mine installed, there was no problems on balancing.
@@RCGJR_ I’m not saying they won’t balance out. It’s just the amount of weight to get it to balance out
Did you lift your Tacoma before installing the new wheels and tires?
Yes!
Are these 35 offset?
Did you extend any fuel line or break line?
Why?
What offset and how wide are those wheels?
0 offset. 4.5” back spacing. 17”x8.5”
How high did you go with your lift?
3” lift or 1.75” of threading showing on the coil over.
Will this fit stock suspension?
Yes it will fit but will definitely rub really bad with stock suspension and no lift. 285s require a 2-3” lift and a cab mount chop or even better a cab mount relocation kit! Hit up SIBI BUILT for great work on CMC and CMR or any other Tacoma upgrade
@@jessestone294 do you know what their pricing is for a chop?
@@DerrickAquino I’m not sure about the pricing. Hit them up and ask for Jason. He is the man. They do the best work! Might be more expensive than a friend of a friend but this shop is legit! Het it done once the right way
What side rails are those?
This are CBI Rock Sliders!!! Check them out! CBI also makes awesome front and rear bumpers and other armor like skid plates!!!
Excellent. This is what I am looking for! Btw, I picked up the same wheels and tires. For suspension Bilstien 6112 up front, 5160 rear, add a leaf, UCA, and some trimming to prevent rubbing 🤙🏽🔥🔥🔥
@@dleada5 sounds awesome !!!
What was the gas mileage hit?
Hey Tom! I’m not sure because when I got the new wheels and tires I removed and sold my 200 lbs tent. So I probably get close to the same that I did before with stock wheels and tires and 200 lbs CVT Mt. Hood. I average 14 mpg
But I have a lot of added weight still. Decked, camper shell, and tools for work!
@@jessestone294 I've only been getting 15-16 city with stock tires. I also live in a city with a lot of hills so I'm sure that kills my gas mileage more than normal.
What is your lift set up?
Fox 2.5 coilovers with dsc adjusters and with total chaos upper control arms. Lifted 3” in the front. And fox 2.5 rear shocks with dsc adjusters and Deaver U402 stage 3 leaf pack! Lifted 3” in the rear. The leaf springs are +2” and heavy duty expedition series designed for bed weight of 700-1000 lbs.
@@jessestone294 thanks for reply boss!💪🤙
@@RCGJR_ if you haven’t already check out the install video of the front shocks and rear shocks. And let me know what you think 🤔
@@RCGJR_ I appreciate the support
tire shop doesnt know how to mount tires ..
Why do you say that ?
Yellow /red dots should be around the valve stems
