Good job Mom! My daughter is 27 and she got diabetes at 3 years old. This device was a real game changer for us to monitor and control her blood sugars. It will get easier as she gets older but this disease is constant and requires a great deal of attention as well as patience. God bless you and your beautiful daughter!

I am a diabetic 2, and it is uncomfortable to watch what daughter must go through, but in turn, it is a comfort to know her mother is diligent and loving to administer the procedure with knowledge and skill, and most of all, with compassion and consideration for her child! @@paulaboggs4339 I've had Freestyle Libre 2 (hate them) and Omnipod Dash for a few years. My doctor just got my insurance to approve the Dexcom 6 and Omnipod 5. She said it's much easier and works together as a system. I'm excited for my pharmacy to get them both in and get my training done! Th Libre 2s just don't want to go into my skin for some reason. The last few have been bettee but still can't wait for my Dexcom! Good luck in your battle with awful disease.

I don't know how you do this with such a young child. I just applaud you for having the patience when it comes to young children and diabetes. I wish I had this when I found out I had type 1 diabetes at the age of ten. It would have helped. The insurance, unfortunately it is a state insurance, won't cover something like this. Thankfully I can get get a blood sugar machine and Chem strips for around. $30 at Walmart.

Tbh they only stay on for 10 days and it is really sterile before it goes on. I guess you could tho

@@leaving.. The insertion is so small I never thght to bother. I get itoff then clean the site. And it's SO sticky

It's fine as long as you wash your hands and put alcohol before touching. It's super tiny and not a deep wound so it's not that dangerous. Also you clean it after.

She knows better than anyone what she is doing, it is not a manipulation that requires a sterile environment, moreover the gloves would not remain sterile for long because she has to handle the old dressing, touch the bottle of uni-solve, wipe remove etc. Just wash your hands well before, nothing more
